Atmosphere, ambience and comfort! Cacti lit with fairy lights, big sparkling snowflakes hung from the trees , log fires.....
The service was exceptional....friendly, caring, genuinely customer-centric. The grounds and surroundings were beautiful. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Compliments to the chef(s). There was something wonderful around every corner of this resort. Many thanks - we hope to return!

Room had an odor. Opening all of the windows an doors mostly cleared it out but it was never a fresh scent.
We loved the serenity of the location and how large it was. Loved the amenities on site and also how close outside restaurants and attractions are.
Didn't like how early Starbucks closed.

We originally booked a room with a king size bed. When we arrived around 10 pm. we were told that they only had double beds available The front desk people could not come up with any available rooms with a king bed so we had to take the room with the double beds and were then moved to a room with a king bed for the next 3 nights. It was very inconvenient moving and not relaxing at all knowing we had to move. It also took up a lot of valuable time moving since it was in a very different section of the resort facilility. Would of thought with the reservation and being a Marriott Rewards cardholder that we would of been properly accomodated the first night.
The atmosphere, the food, the gardens, plenty of seating to sit in or out of the sun, everyone was very helpful.
On our second trip to the resort we were given a room that smelt of smoke- although someone came to clean the surfaces the bedding still smelt of smoke which was un pleasant- however the check out personnel were very concerned and offered us compensation which we thought was good customer service.
Our neighbor had a dog that woke me up at 11pm and 1 am
Air conditioning way too noisy
The staff was fantastic, very accommodating. The resort has a very relaxed feel to it. My wife loved the spa.
EVERYTHING!!!! WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY, NOTHING TO MUCH TROUBLE FOR THE STAFF, MUST BE THE BEST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED AT AROUND THE WORLD. CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, AMAZING !!

I was charged for wi-fi and parking when I was previously advised it was included in the $25 resort fee.
Every employee I dealt with was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and competent. Communication between the various units of the resort -- reception, dining rooms, room service, activities, and housekeeping -- was very efficiently organized, which made it easy to request and obtain any service offered by the resort. This resort is a very, VERY well-managed operation.
Hotel taxes excessive
We had no complaints about this resort, from booking the reservations, to booking spa appointments, to asking for a few extras in the room. Everything was great and we thought the staff through out the resort were wonderful. We will be back. thank you!
The hotel would have no control over what we didn't like, I consider this an fyi and traveller beware. We requested a car to take us to the airport, we did not request an suv, there was no need as a regular town car picked us up. We were quoted a charge of 45.00, which was what we were quoted from the airport to the resort. The driver would not unload our luggage until we paid a "requested additional charge of 20.00". He said we had requested the suv. We didn't - should have double checked the car fee before getting the car. Next time we will be wiser.
This was our 2nd stay in 2 years and was even better than the first. We arrived from snowy, cold Washington DC, after a short stay in Tucson, at 10am with plans to spend the morning at the Spa and check in at 3pm. We were surprised to be told at the front desk that they had a room ready for us! And, a wonderful room it was. Corner casita on the second floor with a balcony and the most beautiful view of Camelback Mt. that we could ever have asked for. We spent the next 5 days soaking up the sun and savoring the gorgeous landscape of the Inn. The staff was invisible unless needed. Our waiter at Rita's was excellent as was the food and Margaritas. We enjoyed the patio dining and fire pits every night. Loved having Starbucks right there for my morning Latte. The Spa was a treat as always......clean, efficient, skilled and peaceful. The private pool at the Spa is an oasis from the real world. The Camelback Inn is a favorite place and we can't wait to return!
The JW quickly followed up the bad news that we had to go to another hotel for our first night, with the good news that they would pay for our night at the other hotel and also for the first night back at the JW. The other good news...the other hotel, "The MonteLucia" was wonderful in every way. Attentive staff. Beautifully decorated public areas with lots of thoughtfully placed seating and cushions. Immaculate, lush gardens and excellent restaurant. Large and well appointed rooms with Spanish Colonial decor. Also, it was less $ than the JW! If we had not received the offer of the free 2nd night at the JW, we would have stayed at The MonteLucia!
The hotel was overbooked so sent us down the road to another hotel for the first night. We didn't expect this unpleasant surprise from a premium resort/hotel. Having to pack up and move and do the whole checkin procedure twice really bit into our first 2 days and spoilt the leisurely pace we had looked forward to. Two other things were just additional annoyance: our TV kept breaking down and Internet is not included in Marriott hotels. This is a pet peeve of ours that luxury hotels don't provide this service. However the hotel made handsome amends...See "Like"
We liked the location, the service, the food. The resort in itself was very pretty.
We reserved a room for three adults, two full beds and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was hard and uncomfortable.
Have been going there for years~~ it is my favorite vacation spot ~ a small western family atmosphere and I always feel safe as I walk around the grounds in early morning or night~ the Sunday brunch is great and sitting by the fire at nights on the patio is the perfect ending to a wonderful day-- can't wait to return !!
We loved everything!! This was the perfect choice for a family getaway. The food, the staff, the spa were all so wonderful!!
The gym was surprisingly tiny for such a large facility. I felt claustrophobic with just five people in the gym. Also, it would be great to see some of the staff people of color serve in more visible positions, such as at the front desk, the concierge or even as wait staff instead of more of "behind the scenes" as grounds keepers, bus staff, and housekeeping.
