Size of room Cleanliness Checkin procedure
Atmosphere Lack of attention from staff Noisy during night High price but absolutely no luxury, felt like a sterile office building.
Located near many of Downtown LA's popular attractions, within walking distance of the Metro lines so you can get around the area with ease. There are many excellent dining places within a reasonable distance as well. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
We arrived a couple hours earlier than anticipated, and the staff let us check in early and leave our bags, which is what any other hotel does. They said they would call us when our room became available. Five hours later, no phone call, and three trips to the front desk later, we finally got our room. We weren't expecting to get a room immediately upon arrival - especially since we were early - but the fact that they kept telling us "your room is next" for hours on end, was incredibly irritating. We even started looking for other available hotels nearby because they were taking so long to give us a straight answer on when our room would be ready. Other than that, the only other thing we didn't like is that the bathrooms in the rooms have sliding doors that don't lock. You have to be careful to close them just right, or there will be a gap left on either side through which you might catch an unsuspected glimpse of your roommate on the toilet.
staff things to do in the vicinity
Up to date stylish comfortable Furnishings and lighting Terrific friendly staff only too happy to help Enough room to swing a tiger in Great amenities, clean & hygienic
The grandeur of the entrance The view from our hotel room The comfy bed
Location is very good and safe. Close to all the locations we want to go to. Room is large and clean. Staff are polite.
Parking fee is pricy, valet parking only. Have to wait for a long time to get your car. The pillows were too soft.
Loved the games by the pool and the DJ on Sunday.
It was great location, room was great as well, and bed was amazing.
Late check in...4pm
The size of the room was good The pool side was very enthusiastic
That they are not refilling the coffee and tea supplies That they didn't provide us with free wifi in the room They didn't have smoking rooms or an area inside the lobby to smoke
Check-in staff extremely friendly, checked us in much earlier than 2pm which was fantastic after such a long flight! Pool area was relaxing and clean
The white coffee table is dusty, when i clean with an alcohol towel, the towel is full of grey & black dusts. The box of paper tissue empty for 2 days no refill. Cotton buds no refill for 3 days. This is my worse 5 stars hotel experience. Intercontinental is much better. Sorry to say that.
The huge lobby with bar and restaurants, the location, the view, and tons more.
We had to leave :(
Staf , room space , valet parking. Reception area .. The wifi ..
The food in the loung is poor.. Also in the la market .. The clean wasn't good. The toilet some times produce bad smells ..
The bell man Brian was a sweet guy with a big smile and happy to help!
Form the check in the staff was rude, it took 20 mins to tell me my room was not ready and they offer to down grade me without refunding me the extra I paid for the executive room. The lobby is a mess people everywhere with no direction and looks like a circus The room was ok but I expected more from an executive room like at least 2 rubbish bins there was none in the bathroom or drinks in the fridge. Massive let down for what I paid
Location , clean & Comfort
Great location & service.I would definetely recommend this hotel as you are next to the L.A live precinct where you can relax, watch the world go by & have a bite to eat. They can also organise tours to disneyland & universal if thats your thing.
Very modern, great buzzing atmosphere, rooms were big, bright & comfy. Looked like everything was brand new.
The facility is beautiful, clean and comfortable with a helpful and friendly staff.
I didn't mind paying the high price for the facility and convenience it provided BUT I think when you pay those prices and you are in a location that everything is paid parking, you shouldn't have to pay to park your vehicle on their property. Especially at $42.00. I have no options to me do I am forced to pay $42. plus the price of the room. I think when you stay and pay for a 4 or 5 star hotel valet parking should be included.
Our family stayed at the JW Marriott for two nights while on a mini-vacation in L.A. The hotel was beautiful and the people were fabulous! The room was comfortable, staff super friendly and easy walking to countless eateries and only a short drive from all the museums we wanted to visit. The rooms come standard with feather pillows and down comforters, and since I’m allergic to feathers, I was unable to enjoy them, but was quickly given very comfortable hypoallergenic replacements and the feather items were removed from our room. We ate breakfast on our first morning there in the restaurant in the lobby, LA Market. Service was quick and the food was good, although a bit overpriced, but that was to be expected. All in all, we will be returning to the JW Marriott whenever we need a room in that area and I would recommend staying to my friends and family. On a side note, the hotel did get pretty busy on the Saturday we were there, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. Definitely a great place to stay if you are attending an event at Staples Center or Nokia.
The hotel looks nice and has a nice pool and bar
Everything else... The welcome the goodbye the stay... I went against my judgement to try a Marriott and it just confirmed I will not be staying with the chain again
Clean and comfortable
No free wifi in rooms On site parking way too expensive
everyone that worked there was so friendly especially Ryan who works at the front desk but everybody on a whole was outstanding would love to come back soon
