mainly the price... also the room comes with a kitchen, a fridge and a microwave.
Apartments are available for half price compare to the cheapest hotel in this area. So do not expect miracles, but you get honest services commensurate the price. LOCATION: Excellent location, just second block from Powell BART station. No so many sad people around as expected. MANAGER: Manager was nice and helpful. OTHER GUESTS: No middle class, not so many tourists. ELEVATOR: Worked 2 from my 3 nights there. BEDROOM: Do not forget your ear plugs as you can hear every step of the neighbor above you and the neighbor walking on the corridor. But it is not horrible. KITCHEN: Enough for simple cooking.
Very weak wifi, especially in the afternoon. Better in the morning.
The staff are very friendly and always willing to help.
The lift is a mess. It is not working most of the time and if you are aboard, and someone else calls it from outside, it will go fetch the call before dropping you off! Keeps going down and up. Too many destitutes outside the hotel but again these are really quite many in the whole of the central business district of San Francisco.
Wonderful people Nice appartement
Neighbourhood not really safe
Easy access to transport
Surroundings Ancient dis functional plumbing Noise levels Families living in hotel Lack of cleanliness
Bed was comfortable
Wi-Fi had to be renewed every day - often not available Elevator broke down twice so on 5th floor not at all convenient. Had to ask nice staff guy to help me get my luggage down when leaving. Corridors smelled bad.
The staff are very friendly n helpfull
The location are very bad, lot of homeless
Close walk to everything. Heart of the city.
Somewhat shabby, somewhat dirty, in a somewhat unsavory neighborhood, upkeep of the room questionable, staff presence inconsistent... Not a place to chill in the room and relax, but perfect for travelers looking to crash after spending all day in the city.
Price was great, the staff is awesome.
Location is awesome, but the street itself it in not nice.
The location of the Apartments was the best. My sister and I stayed at here and only paid $502 for a 6 day stay. We got an awesome deal, compared to other hotels in the area where the stay was $150-$300 a night. This hotel is a few steps away from the Powell Street Bart Station, Union Square and many shops and many restaurants, the Visitors Information Center is close by, so you can plan your trip. I also loved the fact that you had to buzz yourself into the hotel to get into the hotel. A great friendly staff, great price, great location...you can't beat this!
We didn't have extra towels and wash clothes, but this wasn't really a big problem because if someone needed to buy these items, there's so much shopping right down the street you can just purchase some.
Limpieza Localizacion Ruido
This place is clean and they seems to care seriously about the bed bugs problem in San Francisco (plastic wrapping of the mattress). Got an apartment at half price with booking.com, so I got a good value for money.
This isn't really an hotel. Don't expect services if you don't ask. Of course, Tenderloin isn't the prettiest neighbourhood in SF (homeless population), but this place is very near Market street so you don't have to walk that much in that neighbourhood.
Bed, bathroom, kitchen all perfectly adequate and serviceable, but I would not recommend this property at all due to privacy incident.
During my stay my apartment was entered without my prior notification or consent, and whilst I was out, and the door locks were changed. There were also initial difficulties getting me a key for the new lock when I returned. Management seemed more concerned with getting rid of me when I complained than admitting a serious breach of privacy & security I felt very insecure leaving any of my property (including laptop and passport) in the apartment after this event and had to carry them around with me 24/7 instead.
this is an ideal place to base yourself whilst enjoying San Francisco. its a short walk to the main transport hubs. I really enjoyed the space of the apartment, the free WiFi and meeting some great people.
some people may say the area is not the best and some of the "locals" may be socially challenged. but find a place in SF that does not have these problems and let me know!
Good place to start trip. Center of SF. Lot of buses, cable cars and metro.
-Cheap flat with kitchen - Friendly and accommodating staff - Only 50m in to the bad neighbourhood, Market Street close by - Close to BART station
- Neighbourhood is very bad - A bit noisy in the night
The apartments were very close to the shops and tourist attractions however the street the apartments are located on was not one of the nicest streets. We as two young girls felt very unsafe and afraid walking up the street which is at the start of the Tenderloin district. The apartments didn't smell so good either
Very clean No pest experienced Has equipped kitchen and even some dishes Has toiletries Great price
Place is in ghetto (yet on the very edge of it, so it is bearable) Not soundproof at all, could hear neighbours walking, visiting bathroom, listening to a music and even talking Would not recommend to a single girl - it is somewhat scary in this place...
location and price are good.
it is dirty and smells bad
The hotel is at only 2 minutes from the big street of the city. Good places near from the hotel (at 2 minutes bars, 5 minutes shops and restaurants, 5 minutes a Bart, Muni and bus station). The personal is all the time present, answer to each question, it was a pleasure to speak with them, they pay attention and are cool. The room was about 50 m2 for only 60 dollars per night with taxes. Their were all of what is necessary to cook and store at 4°C.
The hotel is really old, it needs refreshment. The bathroom and the restroom was really small, functionnal but nothing else. This hotel is ok to travel, sleep somewhere, have all the necessary to live and sleep, be in the center of the city. Staying for a week is ok but it's to know that the comfort is narrow.
The position is so good, which is closed to BART, Cable car stops, supermarkts and malls. People in the apartment, the manager and staffs, are quite nice. I liked the cute kitchen and felt comfortable when I stayed there.
Considering a hotel, the service is not good because one has to ask for everything. However, once you ask, you get it. But, don't look at its quality!!!
* Not a good place to stay. There is a strange smell (as of some kind of drug) inside the building. Moreover, outside the building, the smell aggravates (smells like pee and drugs). I would not recommend any couple or females to stay there. However, for a single guy, it's not bad as a last resort. * One has to ask for everything ranging from toilet rolls to blanket. * Bad quality of blanket
noisy other guests stove but no pots nor pans
The location is 100m into an area where most people will not want to venture into. Everything stinks, litteraly. If you are lucky, you get onto the 7th floor where you can see some sky, but you will be able to look into other people's appts because of the tiny 2m clearance between buildings. Quite an adventure, cheap. Not for tourists.
