Room was small and did not have its own bathroom. Too many guests and a hostel-like atmosphere.
Location, though somewhat difficult to find, did provide great view of ocean vista. House was cool though cut up into too many rooms.

It's out of town which was fine for us but may not suit some people.
Everything! Beautiful location and views, relaxing on verandah, good breakfast, super comfy bed.

W-LAN connection not too good
The spirit of the place is magical, the view stunning, swing in the mango tree feels like flying, hosts: such a warming welcome by the unbelievably kind lady, all very helpful, very good breakfast.

PERFECT getaway. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll be back! We found ourselves in Kona a few days early and booked the cottage at the last minute based on the excellent reviews. When we arrived, we wondered if we could be in the right place: beautiful plantation home with a STUNNING view. We wandered into the kitchen, where we were greeted by Auntie Hannah, who hadn't heard us because she was baking brownies. She sat us on the gorgeous lanai and brought us fresh smoothies made from produce grown on the property, and once we had caught our breath, she gave us a tour, ending in our peaceful cottage studio. And this is only an example of the perfect hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. Excellent recommendations on attractions and restaurants, perfectly equipped to eat in. We always felt at home. We were there for work, but couldn't have picked a better spot to camp out with our laptops: soaring wifi, charming hosts, and complete restfulness. We ultimately booked an extra night, and we're looking forward to our next visit!

The only thing I didn't like is the steep driveway to the hotel. The owners told nobody ever crashed there and luckily I didn't either:D
we are used to stay in backpacker hostels and really wouldn't like to stay in resorts but this is exactly the kind of luxury we appreciate. Everything is just perfect but relaxed. You don't have to pay extra for anything and the staff is really friendly. Breakfast is amazing too. Really worth your money.

We wished we stayed longer :(
Wife & I loved it -- it is a fantastic place -- idyllic setting, views, location in kona coffee country, very comfortable room, great breakfast. The owners Michael & Greg are wonderful -- very engaging, funny & warm. They were very helpful with area suggestions. We would/will go back there when we can

We didn't like leaving! :)
Everything was perfect. If heaven existed, it's at Ka'awa Loa Plantation. The hosts were absolutely lovely! Homemade breakfast was tasty! Excellent wifi. Everything was spotless. Mahalo, we can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely loved the place! Wish we could have stayed longer! Micheal and Greg were very gracious hosts and helped us out in booking a last minute night dive with the Manta Rays! I would come back just for the breakfast alone! Fresh fruit grown on their plantation, plus other homemade bread and cookies!

At least some of the rooms come with shared bathroom. Even though it's spacious and very well maintained, it gets inconvenient at times.
Guest house ground and location are spectacular and you might be able to eat one of the most memorable breakfast in your life there (delicious food + amazing ocean view). Hosts are super friendly.
