Score from 78 reviews Excellent 8.7/10
Perfect beach location. Quick walk to great snorkeling. Grounds neat and clean. Laid back style, no wristbands needed. Nightly music and local dancers in open air Tiki Bar. Walking distance to Whaler's Village for shopping and dining. Most staff helpful and friendly :) Would definitely go back!
Some staff in the Tiki Terrace restaurant could use a refresher course in customer service! The food options could be expanded and the quality was so-so. Free Wi-fi for guests would go a long way!
Tiki bar and bartenders
Great location, a lot of choices for dining in the area. The grounds well maintained, very pleasant. The rooms on the oldish side, but clean.
Need more electrical outlets in the room. The restaurant overpriced with mediocre food, slow service.
Love the grounds, so beautiful. Location is great, close to everything. Great beach.
Having to pay for parking. No free wi-fi.
Five $ 4 oz yogurt. No vend mach work. Pay xtr inter./cable tv/ safe/parking. Rooms outdated. Restaraunt xtreme over $. Stay at aston maui villas. 1000 x better same price.
Location, price, easy to park
A long list, a bit tacky, lots of better places within walking distance.
The KBH is the resort hotel that the locals recommend to their mainland friends when visiting Maui. It has more of a Hawaiian feel than many of the newer resort hotels on the Ka'anapali Coast. Probably one of the best values of the Ka'anapali hotels.
The practice of charging a daily parking rate is like the airlines charging for baggage -- it just allows the hotel to advertise lower room rates which become inflated with these extra charges. Checkout time is 11 AM instead of 12 -- less convenient.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. The beach for this hotel is by far the best when you walk and see the others (they are still great but not as perfect). The hotel provided us complimentary champagne for our honeymoon. The hotel offers traditional entertainment and activities which were fun.
Despite the rooms being clean, we found a cockroach on the bathroom floor on our first night. To the hotels credit they offered a room change or to come in and spray clean the room immediately.
nice outdoor bar area. beach just a stone's throw away. great relaxed atmosphere. nice to have the entertainment on site
Excellent service, staff very professional, excellent location
Building we stayed in was adequate but "dated/aged". Didn't necessary think the room was worth the cost $174/nite.
All Hawaiian staff who promote and protect their culture. Great free entertainment each night. Lovely beach in front of the hotel. Good restaurants and bar. Close to shopping and more restaurants.
Nothing to dislike here.
We loved the history and traditions of the Hotel
Our toilet was missing a part and kept running
I had read some of the previous guests comments before I booked but, I have to say, I found the hotel staff very gracious and friendly. The room was quite nice and it was a very comfortable bed. It is an older hotel but very well maintained and a great location with an excellent beach. I thought it a very good value. We found their beach grill & bar a treat. Hawaiian pizza and Mai Ti's!
too short a stay
Excellent location, and Beach access
Internet is costly , and hard to access
Check-in experience wasn't great, not very friendly or helpful. Hair Dryer provided in the room barely worked.
Location Staff Friendliness Valet Parking Grounds
No WiFi Charge for Wired Internet
The rooms were big and the environment was overall quiet and tranquil + the food was very good as well.
First of all, free Wifi should be included considering the high price of one night's stay. It seems like nothing but the room was included which is too bad. Then, I consider the hotel being quite overpriced as 240 $ / night for a stay at a three star hotel (without sea-view from the room or gym facilities, breakfast or parking included) is not reasonable. If the hotel wants to attract more customers, I suggest heavily reducing the price or include at least breakfast and parking in the price. I do overall consider the money spent on this hotel not being worth it.
The proximity to the beach and shopping was excellent. The staff went out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome. We felt like family and will definitely return.
The beach, location, nightly hula show, tiki grill
The partial ocean view was amazing. Early morning on the balcony one experiences the breeze and the variety of bird songs...almost like being in a bird sanctuary. The pool and lawns were beautifully landscaped.
The room had a vaguely musty smell and needed updating.
Hawaiian tradition feeling
We were there for our anniversary but on a budget. We reserved the Aloha value room but the only one they had was in a smoking wing so they upgraded us to a nicer room for free. They also sent us a bottle of bubbly to celebrate our anniversary. Very friendly and attentive staff. As they say, the most Hawaiian hotel on the island.
Friendly staff, great view from the maui wing. On site restaurants were tasty.
A little pricey, but so is everything in the area.
