Lower cost and tired property, isolated from main complex. Next stay I would upgrade to ocean view rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor. View shown in promotion picture is the opposite side our room was on. Our view was of the Luau support buildings. We did take advantage of watching the luau from our balcony a couple nights. Captured a post card sunset photo one evening. Only a few steps away from beach.
AC was not able to dry the room out properly. As a result, the room smelled musty.
Great location. Close to many resorts. Love the beach walking trail through Kaanapali.
Rotting railings on balcony are unsafe. Paid for ocean view but had a view of the luau kitchen, could only see ocean when leaning on the previously mentioned rotting balcony. Leaking faucet in kitchen flooded countertop. Roof had multiple leaks when raining! Wifi barely registered as one bar so we weren't even able to connect to the Internet.
Rooms okay, direct 50m away access to beach. Parking only 10$ at Kaanapali Beach.
Luau several times a week close by. But not really bad.
The beach was awesome! Royal lahania is a nice hotel and you can access all facilities there.
Rooms need a lot of updating- you get what you pay for!
TThe resort upgrade was rooms facing the ocean with soothing waves.
The location is right on the beach and the grounds are beautiful. Ocean inn is an older building on the grounds of the royal Lahaina and all the services are available. The rooms is spacious, clean and although in need of updating everything worked. We could watch whales breech right from the beach of the hotel. I would stay here again for sure. A small fridge, sink and coffee maker made it easy to have breakfast in the room
The staff so happy so helpful so willing to go the extra mile ,that's why I keep going back This trip I was solo and on crutches and they made it so easy for me
My room was great location but needed a little TLC but was clean ,it is the oldest part of the resort
was on a great beach, was very clean, there was free wifi, nothing wrong with location, Maui is very expensive so you get what you pay for but no complaints really
considering you have to pay for parking then have to search for a parking spot wasn't impressed with that, restaurant very expensive so a microwave and bigger fridge would of been nice.
We had an ocean front room and the view is spectacular! We saw whales from the balcony every day! Having access to all of the Royal Lahaina Resort facilities was great. Yes, it is right next to the Luau but we were so tired every night from the fun and sun that it didn't keep us awake at all! :)
Restaurant food and drinks were pricey. Rooms are dated for sure. The AC worked well but blew right on us in the bed so even on low it was tough to keep it on at night.
location right next to the ocean luau available right at hotel excellent dancers at the luau friendliness of staff being able to use facilities of Royal Lahaina loved the shuffleboard whale watching right from the breakfast table located right on the beach walk
The bed was comfortable, and the room was large. The sheets were clean and the room service was good. The grounds were nice
The carpet was lifting around the edges due to moisture. The wall, in the very small shower/toilet room was moist and pulling away from whatever was behind it. The air conditioner is above the bathroom and pushes ALL the smells into the main room.
We were happy that we were given a different room in the main hotel. We were told by another couple that the cheaper part of the hotel had a lot of bugs in the room.
Bugs and no handicap access.
Hear the waves from your luxurious bed, at rates far below this if the bigger, newer resorts around it. The beach is spectacular, the snorkeling great (a turtle lives in the area) and you can see the luau from some rooms!
The ground floor appears to be shut down or under construction ? and the hallways are shabby, but the rooms themselves are very nice
Right on the Kaanapali beach, really great location. There're a bunch of hotels there so the environment is really good. And you can enjoy facilities like pool(right by the beach), etc. Staff are really nice, great service.
Really dirty. Old furniture, strange smell in the room, can't receive wifi signal, cockroaches found in room.
Good TV and being able to use the amenities at the Royal Lahaina hotel which I guess owns the ocean Inn.
The shower area was in poor condition. walls had water damage. Did not look good. Outside of the bldg. was very outdated & had to walk upstairs to carry luggage. Old vegitation debrie around walkway like the place is ignored. Disappointed in the appearance & that you would post this site.
Only being able to be their one night and having had a rough trip getting in late, upgrade was greatly appreciated and sure made it able to see the place as a beautiful place.
Not being able to stay there longer.
I visit the island regularly and know I wanted to stay in West Maui. Convenient location, room was comfortably equipped. Most was expected from an older property with not a lot of updating. Since I am not traveling for a vacation, I can overlook a lot.
Was generally cleaned but looked and felt like it needed a really deep cleaning. Welcomed by many cock roaches which did not scatter when I turned on the lights, even one in the mini fridge. The room was musty smelling which was probably due to the carpet, tile would be much better.
The location was good. Parking was good except that they do charge for parking. Close to the beach.
The room was very old and not updated. The sliding door could barely open. There is no elevator for handicap and therefore we had a problem with our luggage. No privacy on the small balcony. They charge for parking. The pools are not conveniently located.
The only place on the island we stayed with air conditioning!
Our room backed directly up to the Luau facilities for the bigger resort that this tiny hotel resides on. That would have been fine had it not been rented out that night for some narcotics annonymous gathering. Thank goodness we left the kiddos home. The room had an overwhelmingly pungent odor of mold and the wall treatment seemed to be melting off the walls. The shower was tiny and dark too.
That it was affiliated with Royal Lahania and we could use all their amenities. Nice pools, pool bar, right on the ocean! Very clean grounds. Staff was very nice at front desk as well as housekeeping. Would go back after getting passed the initial surprise!
Room had a bit of old smell. Definitely older carpets/shower with rubber curtains .Air conditioner didn't work so we changed rooms which was great! However, for the price & location it was a great find!! We added 3 days to our trip and enjoyed being here until we moved on to Kihei.
Beds are comfortable and clean Staff is great Location couldn't be better
Old facility Needs updating and common repair
this was the poor cousin of the Grand Lahana resort. the pool, restaurant and beach were better than I expected. the location could not be better and the room was clean and a nice balcony too. Went to the Luoa. It was good value.
The location right on the beach and the use of the Royal Lahaina facilities and grounds. Also, a comfortable size (3 stories) and homey feel. Staff & management extremely accommodating and friendly.
The roof needs fixing. We had to change our room. The flooring would be better if tiled instead of carpeted.
