Score from 30 reviews Good
parking garage lighting terrible, food options slim, slow checkin and overpriced rooms
Able to walk to your appointments without getting out in the cold weather.
I would like to see night lights in rooms for those who need to get up in the middle of the night and not wanting to put on the light that would wake others in your room.
I loved the acsseessability to mayo and shops and food through subway system. Pool was nice. Quiet, no kids running around being crazy.
Bird poop in my window sill because screen was properly installed. They put me in a room sandwiched between two elevators. Counter tops had Spilled coffee on them.
The ease of going to Mayo Clinic from the hotel.
Only thing was our remote needed new batteries- otherwise it was a PERFECT stay!!!
Room was very outdated- 1960's It was a small convenient room which I wanted. Yes surprisingly very Nasty and outdated.
During winter, the Kahler is perfect place to stay if you're bound for the Mayo Clinic. Small but adequate room for the price. Close to everything you need.
Very clean, great location, very polite staff
The furniture was a little bit to old
Hotel extended our check out time to four in the afternoon with any additional charges. Very much appreciated, this was my second stay and will book again when I return to Rochester. Room was clean and tidy, food was good and the location can't be beat.
Everything was so old! Really awesome! I immediately googled if it had haunting stories! They should use that to their advantage as a selling point! Hahah we used the wrong card at check in so I think they thought we didn't have money to pay...next time we will make sure we have the right card out that's for sure! The pool was super cool
It was weird how tiny it was and the bathroom was right next to the bed with no fan. I purposely selected a room that was not the economy room but got put in One anyway :/ the pool was suuuuuuper hard to find and also we got charged 20 bucks for parking... Usually the hotel covers that for guests...next time we will just park at mayo and walk over
So dirty. Like, disgustingly so.
Location to Mayo Clinic
Needs some freshening up,
Great location for the Social-Ice event, of course.
So many young kids running around, really took away from the weekend away we were hoping to have together. TV didn't work. Wifi wouldn't connect. And, truthfully, was probably the least comfortable bed I've stayed on at a hotel. Always seemed to be things in the hall ways. Clothing from other guests, trays from the night before or that mornings breakfast. I think I even saw a coffee pot?
Great location for Mayo.
Horrible room: "closet" was pegs on the wall, bathroom was teenie tiny, shower went from ice cold to scalding & back again, the bed was like sleeping on a board.
Clean room. Nice staff.
No free parking...negated the good deal I got online. TV reception wasn't great in my room.
I liked the location, the bed was nice.
The temperature in the shower kept changing about every 30 seconds.
The beds slumped toward the middle and were uncomfortable. Obviously haven't been updated or inspected in some time.
Easy assess to Mayo Clinic and shops when it was below zero!
All was well.
room was terribly dirty, dropped something behind the fridge/microwave and was disgusted at what hadn't been cleaned back there for a very long time. Needs some updating for sure, location was perfect however
Facilities very clean and staff helpful
Room was very small no microwave and not adequate shelving in the bathroom
I liked the old Grand atmosphere
Spout on faucet
For visits to the Mayo Clinic the Kahler is the closest hotel. While the walk is not short, the subway access and wheel chair availability makes this a good choice for patients.
Economy room was cheapest in area for an unexpected overnight stay; connected to both Skyway and Subway; easy access to restaurants; Convient location for Shuttle pick-up; most of the staff were very nice (if busy)
Bed was hard; TV only worked after the repair guy redownloaded the satellite signal; room could use an update; Room 857 was right next to the elevator; bathroom was very tiny
pop machine empty, and my allergy's acted up
Our room amounted to a converted utility room! It was incredibly small and the shower fluctuated between scalding and freezing if the faucet was being used! Was incredibly disappointed in the Kahler and wouldn't go back again... We will be staying in their competitors that are equally close to Mayo.
Kahler is situated in the right place. Convenient to bars, restaurants, and downtown shopping. Skywalk is a big plus.
Hallways always seemed cluttered with cleaning and laundry carts. Pool area was nice but wife and son broke out from amount of chlorine in pool.
