Phil and Stacy are awesome. We enjoyed talking with them and Phil cooked us a wonderful meat.
Be careful, the path to arrive to the farm is not very suitable.
We liked everything:) The host was awesome, he even jumped into his car and went to look for us as we got lost - you have to trust the directions and you will find it easily on the left side of the road. I really recommend the place as it is very close to the highway, it is very clean and comfy and it is obvious that the host tries to make the place as nice as possible. We spent 15 nights in Hawaii and this one was definitely the best!!!
Everything in here was nice, especially the welcome. The farm is a very nice quiet place.
I liked pretty much everything, but people must be careful, this is no hotel on the coast, it is a very nice little farm, on a rocky hill with very nice people, far away from the hustle and buzzle of city life
friendly host. very helpful. exciting house on lava flow with nice garden
Friendly couple who runs the retreat, autonomy and self-sufficiency, clean facilities, real Big Island Experience
Mattress was a bit soft for me.
We highly recommend them for a carefree down to earth experience. If you are looking for a place that is "outside the box" of the normal hotel and want a wonderful rustic experience, this is the place for it!!! We loved it there and wish we could stay for good. Both the hosts were also very fun to talk to and they even showed us some amazing local areas...
driveway was in the process of being fixed so it was kinda rough to drive up.
The grounds were very beautiful, and the hosts were kind. There was a really good view when the sky was clear. It was nice to have use of the kitchen while we were there. The hosts' pets were very sweet, and the dog Marley keep us company.
The room we stayed in is not in the photos on this site. The bedroom did not have an en suite bathroom or a sitting area. The bathroom and shower we had were detached from the room and shared with the farm workers (who were very pleasant). The shower had no tile, only concrete board, and had no light in the room. The outdoor lighting to the deck and walkways was very poor and we had to use our flashlight to get to and from the bathroom. Internet was only available inside the hosts' home. The biggest problem we had was that there was NO LOCK ON THE DOOR to our room. This in conjunction with the sheer curtains on the sliding glass doors (at night you could see clearly into our room) made for uneasy feelings and sleepless nights. I think if the door had a lock and dark curtains, I could have enjoyed this place much more.
Evevything! The location perfectly in between Kona and Volcanoes. It's a farm so nature is everywhere.Stacey ad Phil are great people and they give the feeling to be at home.If you not fussy about basic accommodation but still everything you need, well this place is for you!
Friendly interesting hosts, very interesting place, great view, comfortable room, great conversations with hosts and other guests.
Wouldn't have been able to find it without GPS.
Kindness of Phil & Stacey, we liked the visit of the farm, the suggestions of activities to do in the region and to take coffee with them in the morning. Good and easy communication with Phil
owners/family were super; livley, enthusiastic and entertaining.... pity I was only there 1 night
Friendly and gracious Host, beautiful home and garden. Great stay if you have a car and don't mind driving.
Driveway is difficult without 4 wheel drive or very good driving skills.
