- Charming - Comfy - Roomy - Little things like Hershey's kisses for my daughter. - Interior details
Nicely decorated. Well stocked kitchen.
I didn't have the perfect experience at Kara's Kottages as reported by other reviewers. This was unfortunate because we traveled from Utah to celebrate Christmas with family. Kara had thoughtfully provided a basket of Hershey Kisses on the TV stand. Christmas Eve I dozed off on the couch in the living room. I woke up when a rat with a Hershey's kiss in it's mouth hopped across the floor towards me. I screamed and startled the rat. It dropped the kiss and exited the room. This is not a joke. My husband who has worked with rats picked up the Hershey's kiss and could tell by the chisel-shaped teeth marks that the rat was approximately 6 inches long. And that's not all. I found a used condom left in our bed. EEEWWW. I wanted to check out but I didn't want to ruin Christmas for everyone else. Before we left I called Kara to give her a chance to make it right because I couldn't get the image of the rat and condom out of my mind and I understand stuff happens. She told me she has no rats not even a mouse. And as far as the used condom, I should take a Kleenex and remove the condom and throw it in the trash. She asked if I had any other complaints. I asked if she would make it right. She said she would think about it and let me know. She never did. This is one nightmare I want to forget!!
Enjoyed my stay immensely. Very comfortable, pleasantly decorated and convenient. Much thought went into the detail of what is provided for travelers.I have traveled quite a lot and never quite saw it done like this. Feels like home!
Very comfortable and nicely decorated ... like staying at a friend's apartment.
Beautifully decorated and astonishingly and thoughtfully well-provisioned. The huge Amtrak trains that came through only 6 or so times a day - and never at night - we're exciting not a nuisance.
Atmosphere of the cottage and situation. Provisions for breakfast. DVDs available to watch.
Homy and cozy Well equipped with everything.
The place was charming and very clean and there was amazing attention to the details of what a person might need while away from home. I already have plans to return the next time I visit Kalamazoo.
Kara's attention to detail was fantastic, she has thought of everything. We felt very much at home.
Nothing at all, it was an awesome stay
We really enjoyed our stay and are hoping to return in the future. It was very comfortable, peaceful, and homey, yet clean and kept up well. In fact I am wondering about renting the whole building for my family next year mid December!
We needed to arrive after dark so it was difficult to find, and the railway tracks and its noise was very close by. We got unclear directions off the internet and were not clear on when to get off of the 131 and where to go from there.
I will never , stay again , bu gs, and they dont change the bed sheets , ann clean the room like they should , these people do not like black people
