The location, the staff, the food.
Outside stair access to room on second floor. While it is clean the whole hotel is shabby and needs to be refurbished.
Proximity to Monument Valley
Few choices for a good meal. We ended up at Sonic which we like, but would have preferred a sit down dinner.
Central to monument valley and lake powell. Felt very welcome. Rooms clean and modern. Breakfast was fantastic - get the blueberry pancakes
My steak was a little well done. Rooms might get a bit hot in summer.
Quality of facilities. In particular an excellent restaurant.
Room assigned was a suite, El Capitan. Wish we could have stayed two or three days. We could have utilized the kitchen a bit more. Wouldn't mind renting the same suite again some time soon.
There were moths in the room. The bedroom did not have a remote for the flat screen and the room came with only one light, a lamplight. There was no light switch upon entering the bedroom.
Overpriced - poor quality room & food.
Huge king-sized room and bathroom. Would have been more than content with half the space - at half the price, of course.
Prepare to be a captive audience. No fridge or microwave. Breakfast at $10pp. On Navajo Reservation - so no alcohol. Have to log into WiFi by providing them with an email address (so data collection too!). My advice? Make one up. It works.
Very expensive, three times the price of the Travelodge we stayed in the following night. On Navajo land where alcohol is not permitted. Restaurant only average, and staff not very friendly.
Friendly staff (which surprised me, given the other reviews), decent rooms.
Windows do not open. Food could use some improvement.
Very expensive for motel
Location was good for Monument Valley. Rooms clean and comfortable. On-site facilities reasonable and value for money.
No alcohol served, which is not a major issue, but this should be advised at time of booking to allow for arrangements to be made by travelers. Other than the hotel and various food/gas outlets, there's not much else to do here. Fine for a one-night travel break, but would not recommend for a week!
Location to points of interest.
Exceptionally quiet, great pillow top King bed and nice pillows.
No A/C, not even a fan and couldn't open the windows. A little stuffy, had to open the door. I can't imagine trying to sleep in the summer. A little pricey, when we return we will bring our own fan.
Beds and bathroom are good and the rooms have a good size and atmosphere.
There are few dining options in Kayenta so we did eat at the hotel's restaurant. We should have gone to McDonalds though ... This experience was just awful!! I consider this disrespectful towards the customers and with the poor service this was a dinner to forget soonest.
Modern newly renovated comfortable room. (You cant tell from the outside) Restaurant is good for the location
Unsmiling non friendly staff. No alcohol (Law prohibits due to Indian reservation)
Easy access from highway.
The restaurant and hotel was over priced and the food was not very good.
Good Location in the Arizona desert. Nice big restuarant, good food clean and comfortable
Nothing to mention
Arrived late and had a meal at the hotel. The food was cold and not good value.
very friendly and efficient hotel staff and also enjoyed the wait staff and the food at the hotel restaurant....good gift shop and was pleased to be able to book a tour with "Sam" right at out hotel. Although the weather was grey and cloudy it was still a great tour with lots of info from out tour guide...
Breakfast not included in an expensive hotel, poor cleaning of the room, staff, wifi sooo slow, too much for a 180usd hotel.
Excellent lightning show
Too much noise from upstairs room. Expected a view and was none. Tub was not clean and ceiling over tub was peeling. Very overpriced for accomodations...Hampton Inn much nicer and HALF the price!!!
good place to stay for drive up to monument valley.
staff at office were very unfriendly and unhelpful. did not feel welcome at all. a smile goes a long way.
When I'm traveling, I like a space separate from the bed. At Monument Valley Inn there was a beautiful mini sofa near the window that wasn't just beautiful but comfortable, too. I also liked the key card on the outside doors as well as our room. I didn't feel insecure, but the addition was great.
I was surprised that there wasn't a refrigerator. I would have liked to put my bottles of water in a fridge to keep them cool in such a hot environment.
rooms were very nice
Reception staff not helpful. We needed help and it was all too hard for her!
