Location was not that friendly, far away from Hilo and town (15 minutes driving distance)
Guest House would be more appropriate rather than hotel, but the in house facility was good, you could cooking by yourself. It is quite and room was big.
Private jacuzzi on the porch. House very well maintained, everything you can think of is present.
The bed wasnt to my taste, not very supportive and woke up a little sore.
Great place just outside of hilo. We only stayed 1 night before our flight out, great setup they have!
Very clean and comfortable!
Bed is really soft, just heads up for guests who have back problems.
Nice setting, very well maintained and clean. Very well furnished kitchen. Own laundry facilities. Everything that you need for your stay down to the smallest details.
Quite, peaceful, clean, comfortable and the place was beautiful, awesome amenities. Would stay again and highly recommend it. More than your monies worth! Loved the place.
A very long way from any good eating places.
Very well appointed apartment. Quiet location.
Our stay was fantastic as was our host. We particularly enjoyed the quiet nature of Hawaii without traffic. The amenities were superb even down to the quality of the linen and silverware. We would and will recommend this to our friends and any body that in interested. Truly a quality place.
A little remote - not much to eat or buy unless you go to Hilo or want to eat McDonald's every night. The refrigerator was a little too loud...but the area was also very quiet, which might have caused the fridge to sound noisier than it is, but it was nothing we couldn't sleep with. Some of the towels smelled a bit as they were not completely dry; these could be washed and dried in the dryer instead of outside on the the laundry hanger, as the area gets a lot of rain and is almost always humid.
We loved everything about this place - I received thorough check-in instructions in the email before arrival and had no problem finding it based on the directions provided. Exceptionally clean, quiet, nicely decorated with everything we need for our 4 nights of stay and even a private whirlpool we never got to use. Tons of DVDs to watch for free; informative booklets and flyers stacked in the drawers; free local calls; shared laundry room; well-equipped kitchen with full set of cutlery, plates and even plastic utensils and paper containers for picnics. Beach towels, beach chairs and even a cooler were available for use. Really, the only thing you need when staying at this place is the food to eat.
The pillows were too high and hard, it would be good to have a range of pillow heights and softness to accommodate all preferences and body shapes. Other than this it was the best place we stayed in the Hawaiian Islands
Location, facilities, the set-up, all great. It's a wonderful place for a couple who want to stay a few days relax and explorer Hawaii and cater for themselves when they feel like it.
The cable and wi fi went out due to winds when i stayed that wasn't the host fault and nothing they could have done so the tv and internet i got to use for a few hours after i got in but then it was out the rest of the night
I liked everything the bed was comfortable, stone shower, the hot tub, the bbq it was wonderful i wish i could have stayed another night. Gorgeous wonderful place.
Good kitchen but would liked to have a full sized oven.
The location was perfect, quiet, relaxed. Good sized TV. Hot tub right outside the back door. All was clean, clean, clean.
A little hard to find
Well equipped, nice spacious place in a quoit area
The apartment is a 10 minute drive from the local town, which has a decent supermarket but no decent restaurants. Hilo City is a further 15 mins away. And the fridge and hot tub are noisy during the night. But if these factors do not matter to you, this is a great place to stay.
This is a very well equipped single room apartment with a large outside decking. It is very well positioned for exploring the east side of the Big Island and the Volcanoes National Park. Free wifi works well, and USA-wide phone calls are free.
The complete package and Eye for detail. Extremely clean , neat lots of room excellent price point. If staying on Hawaii the big island a must stay if avsilable
A bit away from both the Volcano National Park (30-40 minutes) and from Hilo area shops and supermarkets, but not too bad.
Large apartment, full kitchen, private hot tub and BBQ-ing porch, semi-private laundry room, free parking, great value for the money.
The bed is a little small for two persons. The kitchen knives are not sharp to cut vegetables or food.
We enjoyed the stay and the nature around the house. We recommend you to stay here.
This is the best kept secret on the Big Island! The location was perfect for getting to Volcanoes Nat'l Park, South Point & Hilo. And the Kona side was only an hour away. The studio apartment was perfect and the hot tub was just icing on the cake. WE WILL BE BACK!!!
The Keanu Place is a real oasis, outside of Hilo near the Volcano, and unprepossessing at first glance, but beautifully well done with a jacuzzi, quiet rooms done up with a lot of detail toward the comfort of the guests. We used it as a base to explore the east coast of big island. The folks that run it love the area and taking care of weary guests. A real find.
The checkout time was 10 am and we asked for an extra half an hour and were refused which seems churlish and unfriendly given the caretakers were on site.
Very quiet and away from the bustle of resorts. The room was clean and tidy and the internet worked well.
This apartment clearly can't disappoint anybody: you will find everything you need in perfect condition - from the BBQ to the hot tub to all the amenities of the kitchen, bathroom and living room (not to speak of the large DVD collection and the washing room). You certainly know your place is well equipped when something unusual happens - in our case hurricane Iselle. Yet even without running water and electricity after our second day (the whole Puna district was concerned), this place still was great fun! That was of course not only because of the gas BBQ and a hot tub that keeps warm for days, but also because of the great caretakers, Brandi and Dallas, which are true professionals and know how to handle any situation! Thanks for a truly unforgettable stay!
We would have liked to turn off the hot tub because of the noise with windows open and as we didn't use it in our 3-day stay. But actually we didn't ask about it, so it wasn't a true issue.
Very clean, very good furniture, a lot of accessories in the kitchen. Good position to go to the National Park.
Everything we needed was available!! The hot tub on the patio was a wonderful way to wind down after a day of touring the East side!! Great location just outside of Hilo but also very close to see the black sand beach, Volcanos National Park and the a Hot Ponds!! We will be back for another visit!!
Having to leave because my trip was done
I loved it all
Nothing that I can think of
Very tidy Everything you need and more Effective A/C Very good selection of DVDs
