The hotel is in an older building but it is exceptionally clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We didn't bring our dog but it appears this is a dog friendly hotel! This hotel is close to everything you need. We walked everywhere from this central location.
Our room had a slightly musty smell upon entering but after opening the windows for a little while it cleared up.
location very central.reasonable quiet for area.staff friendly.wi fi and printer
rooms alittle small.no bar/restaurant facilities
Excellent central location, lovely helpful staff, really comfortable beds
Location, staff, cleanliness.
Loved the location, fact it looks more like a boutique hotel in a nice old building. Great room and free wifi - will go back for sure there!
they dont do breakfast
The room was clean, bed was comfy, linens were lovely. Not too fancy but very conveniently located and a beautiful lobby. Valet was friendly and actually quite quick for us.
Rooms are slightly small, and no view our room was on the 8th floor.
Great location. Nice staff
Rooms a little musty
- Location! Unbeatable! - Free sherry service - Very friendly and helpful staff - Guest rooms are nicely furnished
- Beds feel old, they have a hump in the middle and slope down on either side. Makes it hard to sleep when you constantly feel like you're sliding off the bed. - Shower needs more water pressure - You have to pay for bottled water - There's no fridge to keep your own bottled tap water cold - Great location, but VERY pricy!
Staff was extremely helpful and cheery. The bed was very comfortable, nice pillows and comforter. Wifi worked very well. Great location, easy to get to major sights for a work traveler's spouse.
Lack of A/C made for some noise at night. Had to sleep with open windows.
Location, afternoon sherry, bed comfortable, proximity to restaraunts, hotel staff was outstanding
Small rooms, security scary as elevator allowed different floors wre available to people from outside(eg: elks club, theatre) . No lobby restrooms. Should have shears over windows I room. Bathrooms small, No doorman to help with luggage, we needed to shelp our luggage by ourselfs.
This hotel's value is definetly in the location, the staff is in general attentive in and its surroundings give a couzy feeling.
Pictures can be deciveing, because in reality it looks smaller than expected. There is no restaurant and that is a big disapointment, specially because we have young children and there is not even a snack bar or room service to order a small bite. Also there was no safe in our rooms and I found that strange as its is now a days a comodity available in even smaller hotels.
Tha atmosphere and the style.
cold shower :(
The room, overall, was good. Bed was clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. Coffee was a step away from our room.
You'd hear certain crackling noises from within one of te walls that kept you up at night.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THE OLD WORLD CHARM VERY COMFY BED BATHROOM TOILETRIES SMELLED divine AND THE FRONT DESK MAN 29TH AUG 2014 WAS VERY KIND TO US THANK YOU
PERHAPS IN ADDITION TO THE COFFEE IN THE AM SOME SMALL MUFFINS AND OR CROISSANTS TIL WE COULD GET OUT TO A FULL BREAKFAST BUT WILL DEF RETURN TO THIS PROPERTY !!!!!!!!
The parking situation is a NIGHTMARE..checking in..gettingyour car is even worst..great for travellers with no car..otherwise find a hotel with curbside valet..they need to fix this serious problem.
shoogling duringearthquake. location.
The bed was really comfortable. The location is perfect. The staff is super nice and helpful.
Too expensive for what you get. No restaurant at the hotel. No mini-bar or fridge in the room (but we were able to get one by calling at the front desk).
Location Helpful staff Feeling of grandeur when staying there
No breakfast or dining service Dated interior Coffee facilities were a joke
The room was a decent size. Having stayed in other hotels in SF near Union Square I know that you can get stuck in a closet sized room so we were pleasantly surprised at how nice and spacious. Very comfortable bed, super cozy. We were actually there the night of the earthquake and felt a bit of rolling but I thought I was dreaming. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay again.
Location of the hotel. Friendliness of the staff. The interior was charming - older building. The room was quite spacious for being an old building. Bed was comfortable.
Bathroom needed some updating. We felt it wasn't necessary to glue down the soap dish when we were paying so much for the room. We aren't that type of clientele.
Very good location only a two mins walk from Union Square.
Lack of facilities, very expensive
The young girl who checked us in was friendly , couldn't answer questions , told us she didn't a map of San Francisco, even though I could see them just behind her
