Great location, cosy, plenty of space, easy for self catering, perfectly located to nip up to the Jaggar Museum viewing point every evening to monitor the volcano activity.
You need a tin opener, which is pretty essential! A kettle would be good too because lots of people drink tea and not coffee. We had to boil water on the hob. Only one small fry pan...
Location was perfect. Owners very friendly and helpful. They own a wonderful cafe and bakery. Close to the cottage with the best coffee and pastries you'll ever have. Beautiful gardens and lanai. Cozy old fashioned plantation style house.
Slightly musty smell from the humidity until you get in and turn on the dehumidifier. Then it's fine. A ceiling fan or two would have been nice in bed room and living room .
Lovely host, a quiet place to relax and just a short drive from the Volcano National Park.
A little hard to find the house, especially at night.
The location is secluded and just what we expected for a stay in Volcano. Bea and Ken were lovely and tried to meet our every need. Seeing Kalij Pheasants roam the yard-awesome!
Unfortunately, a plumbing issue cropped up, but Bea took care of it ASAP.
The manager was professional. Location was good to Volcano National Park.
Ask if the heating has been addressed. The propane heater was broken and one electric heater for the whole house is not enough to put even a dent in the damp and cold. At that altitude folks, even Hawaii is cold. We did not have clothes for 40 something indoors. Nor should we need them.
