My 25yr.old son and I were in the city to see a Giants game. We found the hotel to be very convenient to everything. Perfect location. We slept very well and heard nothing from either the street or the hotel regarding noise. Enjoyed the complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for the Ritz, it's not that. It's very old but not unlike small hotels in Europe. Bathroom had major paint peeling off which didn't look good and I didn't like... Very basic but it was all we needed and the staff was very pleasant so it was all good!!!

The room was clean. The location was great with the exception of the homeless individuals. They were also very helpful in giving us guidance on places to eat. The room was a little small, but tolerable.

Nice hotel with an historical aspect in the age of the hotel. But nicely renovated with good size rooms. Reasonably priced & very close to Union Square & all the shops! Recommend the Café Mason next door for meals.

The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Our room was clean and comfortable. The location was outstanding, close to everything! We will gladly recommend the King George Hotel! There was nothing we didn't like! We know the hotel was built in the early 1900's so our expectations were exactly on target!

I was booking in the center of sf with reference from Booking.com #727721877 which clearly states deluxe room with 2 beds. Instead I was offered room 301 which is hardly for 2 persons even have to say for 1. we came with our son so there was no place for him (or for me). On my question about our room I was told that it was largest room in the hotel. I think there're a lot of hotels for $420 for 2 nights in sf... Totally unsatisfied

I loved the location, the layout and casual nice feel of the Hotel. The parking package helped with garage close by. Staff very helpful and nice. The "old" style was charming but it also seemed nicely maintained and updated so as to still be comfortable. I hated the noise. There was a homeless man on the street that pounded the drums every night from 11 pm through 6 am. I believe the staff should have called the police. This is noise pollution at best and at worst an unacceptable and illegal disturbance. The bums should not have more human rights than the folks paying the bills, supporting local business and attempting to vacation. We were never really rested due to this.

The stuff was very nice , and the room was clean. The room was very outdated, the large TV didn't have HD channels. There was very little place in the bathroom to put my stuff (a small narrow shelf).

The service was great . No problem with early check in. Great price located in the heart of shopping, dining and club areas of downtown SF. one slow elevator, but this hotel is older. Best bang for the buck in SF. I will definitely be back.

I liked the room that we had on the first night, the bathroom was nice, the bed was comfortable and the room wasn't very noisy. After two nights the door lock broke and we couldn't lock our door, when we went to tell the front desk they told us that they would send someone up in a while (this was 8:00pm on Saturday!) of course we wanted to go out, they front desk offered us a new room on the same level which we accepted. This room was a lot worse...the bathroom was weirdly laid out and the room had a slight food smell (had the window open, think it faced an air vent from next doors restaurant). The bed was uncomfortable and it was extremely noisy. When we moved rooms the front desk person didn't even offer to send someone up to help us move, I thought that this was extremely unprofessional. The next morning we went down to the front desk to talk with the manager, through the front desk person we were able to relay our concerns regarding the new room and the lack of help the pervious night. The manager took our first night off the bill and upgraded us to an executive suite. This was a very nice gesture and made us want to give a good review and to go back. All in all, this was an great hotel (just get a room with a nice layout in the bathroom) with a nice lounge area that offers appy hour from 5-6pm with cheap drinks. It is close to Union Square Shopping and Powell Street bart Line.
