Major pluses include the Elote Restaurant on property (wait for your table in your room... or from the hot tub), pool and spa, spacious rooms with patios and very comfortable beds
Staff was always smiling. They appeared to enjoy serving us, and was very friendly. The front desk person went out of his way to explain the hotels amenities and surroundings. The room was freshly referbished and roomy. In checking out, no one was at the desk. A lady sweeping the floor said she was sorry she couldn't go behind the counter to help us. How thoughtful!!
Convenience of hotel to my meeting
Parking for hotel guests , very poor, the restaurants patrons use the parking also, so very full, and they are under construction and parking spots were roped off no access, that is my only real complaint.
We were on the first floor and there is no sound proofing between floors. Heard every footstep and creaking from the floor above. Mentioned it at check out and clerk did not even respond to my comments.
clean, comfy, location is not bad, friendly staff, continental breakfast is ok, rooms were renovated and much nicer than the last year, the pool was heated during the winter, about 1/2 mile from Tlaquepaque and 1 mile from the "downtown" shops and restaurants - walking is nice but use the car if with kids, elderly people etc.
as of winter 2014 it is under construction - half of it was closed including one of the pools and jacuzzi (the second ones were operational) but the rooms were updated and better than before - once they are done i guess all the rooms and grounds will be nicer. the working jacuzzi was overcrowded and super dirty.
The location was excellent. We were able to have our two dogs with us which was a plus and they were very welcome on the premises. Part of the property was being renovated but it was very organized and the workers were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was great and very organized.
The beds are very comfortable with luxurious comforters. The free breakfast is nice. Iced water is available in the lobby.
There should be coffee available in the lobby so that we don't have to walk to the restaurant/free breakfast area.
Room size=very large. Bed was very comfortable.
Needs updating badly but they are working on it. Huge depression unmarked in parking lot that I manage to drive into at night damaging the undercarriage of my car. Should be barricaded, marked, lit or something. They weren't really prepared for the crowd at breakfast. We were assured that it was a very good set- up but we were limited to dry cereal and some had to eat outside where it was a little cool.
Booking.com sold me a room that was already booked. The hotel gave me a bigger room at no cost
A roach wing on the bed when we opened the door and cob webs on the headboard
There was a smell in the main building....like old musty carpet. Would of been nice to eliminate the smell!
We were suprised by the size of the room (big), very clean newly renovated.
All the pictures were not of the hotel we stayed in. They were of the hotel that was next door. I believe the pictures were of the original King's Ransom and it was under major renovation. The King's Ransom hotel we stayed in was nice and clean. You did have to walk over to the part under renovation for the breakfast.
Staff was very helpful, beautiful view, good breakfast and comfy bed for a good night's sleep.
Pool and spa were being updated so couldn't use them other one was just too far away for us.
location was good and restaurant food was excellent
bartender was lacking in making drinks tried 3 margarities and none were acceptable.
My girlfriend and I had a great stay at the Kings Ransom Hotel! The two pools and hot tubs were great, the rooms were surprisingly modern for the price, and the location was superb! We will be back!
The room and hotel shabby and the bed was sinking in the middle. I have stayed at much nicer places...
It is a very nice hotel. Yes they are doing renovations but they keep it as clean as possible. We had a king size room with a balcony. Bed is very comfortable. The breakfast that is included is great. They have waffles, eggs, sausages, cereal, pastries, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea. Great location, beautiful view. Elote Restaurant excellent.
Our room wasn't totally tidied up the first morning, and on the second morning we went out early, returned at noon and our room still wasn't cleaned. It didn't get done that day.
The location within walking distance of galleries and restaurants, plus the trailhead at the rear of the property, was excellent.
Attitude and efficiency of front desk staff was unimpressive and gave a poor impression of the hotel, which was otherwise acceptable.
Staff was great and very helpful. Location was good. Breakfast was marginal
The rooms need attention and updating they felt neglected. Small refrigerator made noise so we had to unplug, No clock. TV didn't work, upon further examining the TV was unplugged. The faucet in the bathtub needs to be fixed, the mechanism from tub to shower was very difficult to work.
What an amazing surprise the kings ransom is!!! The staff, ken in particular, was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. The hotel is the best bargain I've ever seen!
Nice hotel, excellent staff - we wanted to extend our stay and they found a way for us to stay longer. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is perfect for us. Especially good location if you are driving. The ELOTE restaurant is a must and is reasonable to boot.
The pillows were too big and bouncy, good we brought our own. It would also be nice to have an extra chair...there is room.
one area was closed for renovations. The pool in this area looked very nice but we were not able to use it.
the pool/deck area is very nice
construction/renovation of the upper units was loud, contractors swearing. Complimentart breakfast of very average quality, but decent value..
