Very friendly staff - very keen to help and the rooms were big/clean enough. A bit off the beaten track - the neighborhood in the heart of the Chinese district is not fancy at all, but there are good and very reasonably priced eateries that can be found there. Takes between 35-50 minutes to hit midtown Manhattan, depending on the subway (the nearest tube, 9 Ave, is real close, but only local D trains stop there, you'd be better off strolling to 36th St. to catch an express D/N/R Manhattan-bound train)

Is a good place that we use only to sleep, near to the subway stop, with a rich breakfast. Not a central place e nothing to do near the hotel, but you have a nigth subway stop to go in another place.

Very close to subway, clean, not busy or overcrowded, free parking. No microwave, no fridge, says laundromat in ad but its really a laundry in the neighborhood about 2 blocks away, Parking is only about 11 spaces, so get there about an hour before check in to get a spot and plan on leaving it there for entire stay so you don't lose your spot. I didn't appreciate the staff cleaning at night, can hear them in the hall etc. Also, sleep with the fan on to cover up outside traffic and occassionally the el train. Desk clerk was always on phone, for a hotel that wasn't that busy, it was excessive..also used personal cell phone while at work.

In kind of a seedy area in Brooklyn, places to eat but nothing too nice. About 45 - 60 minute subway to Times Square. Very quiet, not touristy, nd you really feel like you're "living" nyc if you stay here. Not a very good area.

The hotel was surprisingly neat and nice, seems like the rooms were recently renovated. Would totally recommend to those who don't mind the not so good location Free open porn channel - i was staying with my little son, and it was really embarrasing when he occasionally turned it on. And the location was seriously creepy, with cemetery nearby and weird people walking around

My mother and I stayed a week in this hotel and we both really enjoyed it. Breakfast was in a small room, but with a lot of choice (pls try the "self-make-wafels" - the are deliciouse :) ) Every day we had clean sheets and towels, no bed buggs and a nice cable, flat screen tv :) The neighborhood is not to pretty looking, but it is close to subway station "9 Avenue" on the d line. However if you want more choice of lines you can walk down 39 Street and turn right on 4 Avenue, there is the station of 36 Street, choices of lines d,n and R. They take you straight in the Manhattan. There is a lovely Chinese restaurant on 5 Avenue between 40 & 41 Street called Chinese Delight. When you have time please pop in to Greenwood Cemetary - beautifull old cemetrary! And behind te cemetary is prospect park, from the same "makers" as Central Park. Being there felt like being in a forest :) Had an amazing week!!

Great value, clean and luxurious (marble and granite), indoor garage parking on site, free continental breakfast. Near subway. Rooms, closets, furniture small. No easy chair- but this is typical of small, moderately priced hotels in this area of the city. Kings had a better continental breakfast room than some others nearby. On site dining was mostly nightclub - Karaoke. Their posted hours started at 6 pm so we thought they would be a place for supper. They were not really set-up for that. Had a pleasant bowl of very good noodle soup, but felt we were intruding on their work.

General cleanliness, condition of facitlity, friendliness of desk staff. Would like four pillows on each king-sized bed - make it easier to read and watch TV. Bath towels could be larger. Would like actual king-sized sheet on the bed.

Close to subway and budget restaurants and free parking were all great. Rooms not as clean as expected. Elevator was out of order and we were on the fourth floor only a week after knee surgery. Neighborhood was not as nice as hoped for, but we had no issues of safety at all.

I was initially put off by the fact that I could not locate it even though it was right there in front of me. I finally noticed the small King Hotel sign among the large and colorful Chinese characters. I got over it. It is a strangly eclectic place well located for anyone wanting fast and easy access to the 9th Street Metro. Very friendly desk staff at check in. I got there late and decided to walk around and get the neighborhood vibe. It was dark and the hotel is located in the middle of what appeared to be an industrial block. I went to the left and again left on the first street and found a number of asian and latino eaterys and bodegas. Nobody asking for money and a neutral vibe when passing or encountering others on the street. It felt safe. My room was facing the street and it was fairly quiet. The nice sized flat screen television had several movie channels as well as sports and entertainment commercial channels. The room was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. I enjoy visiting old cemetaries and the one behind the hotel is fabulous. It is filled with awesome funeral architecture and a number of the 560,000 perpetual residents from centuries past and present played an important role in local and national history. Brooklyn is a great place to live and it's proximity to "the city" make's it an affordable option to staying in Manhattan. The towells are worn, small and ... well ... scratchy. The sheets were a bit threadbare but it didn't keep me from sleeping. The room was too small to have an extra chair other than the one for the desk. If you are there for only one night it should not be an issue however after 3 nights it was not as welcoming as someplace with a few more amenities. The internet was free but intermitant which was a problem when I tried to hold a GoToMeeting with several colleagues. The free breakfast could have a few more choices and it would have been nice to have had an egg or two. The "make your own waffels" were ok and there were bannanas and two types of yogurt in the little fridge. The good news is that if a pure carb start to the day doesn't suit you there are several delis in fairly close proximity where you can get killer breakfasts.

It was pleasantly neat and clean. The room was small but it had no carpet in it. It was all marble floors and I liked that. The continental breakfast was very good too.

I enjoyed that it was quiet and able to get a restful sleep. It was a plus to see complimentary toothbrushes and combs, etc. Overall very clean room and even the lobby and hallways are very clean. The pillows are a bit flat and not enough for double guests and no radio or ipod dock for any kind of music which I have seen in many other hotels.

Upon arriving, the front desk attendant (Nick) was extremely nice and helpful being that we were not too familiar with the area. He gave us some great information to help with our ny navigating. Also, the bar next door was excellent! Phil was a great bartender and ny guide as well. We will definitely be staying at Kings Hotel for our next visit!
