I stayed for two weeks on the top floor. I could watch Manhattan from my window. I didn´t ecperience any noise, or disturbing behavior that some other guests have complained. The 9th avenue subway station was really close, the trains were full of hardworking and tired Chinese people even in the middle of the night, so I felt safe. The deli on the corner of the 39th street and the bakery on the other corner were my safe havens. And I did appreciate the 24h laundrette nearby. The breakfast was as expected. It reminded me of many French hotels.
There were cold days, so I had to use the heater, which is really noisy. But at least it worked.
Staff is always attentive and nice
The fact that there were no llttle refrigerators in room
The shower was nice and it was close to the venue. It was four walls, a ceiling, two beds and a door.
Not to keen on the location, but we were in Brooklyn.
I like the friendliness of the staff and the fact that they spoke Spanish. I loved the breakfast nook with coffee and the today show.
The Karoakee bar was all chinese and all the singing was in private rooms. No space for us gringos although one of the main bartenders was most amable!
Quiet place, quiet neighborhood Free (but limited) parking Subway is close Staff is friendly and helpful Fresh fruit and Activia yogurt at breakfast Wifi worked pretty well
room too small for bed. i kept hitting my shin on the edge getting back from the bathroom - at night and in the morning - so i got a big, bleeding bruise.
Excellent and helpful staff; super wireless speed.
Air conditioning was a bit noisy.
Easy and fast signing out
The floor was cold
We stayed at the hotel 10 days and mailed them wanting to extend our stay one more day which they approved.
But upon extended day they insisted charging us a 100$ more than the price we paid and it was unfair, very greedy behavior (the front desk said it is a "Chinese hotel " and blabla ) She was very but very rude, we told her it is unacceptable coz they confirmed it by email but it ended ys paying 100$ more (which front desk wondered "why am i making such a fuss out of it?") Not only we will not go there again , we strongly recommend booking.com to refresh hospitality ethics with this hotel
The room is spacious and clean, wifi is good and area is interesting
For us being a mature couple walking distance to the sub way was not easy . we had great time exploring Brooklyn but didn't go to Manhattan while staying there....
The room is great. Wi-Fi works in the room. There is also breakfast included. Service was great. Everybody was very friendly and ready to help. We do no smoke but we took the smoking room. There was the smell of smoking in the corridor but not in the room. The Hotel is in the China area. It's safe there and if you like to eat then this is the right place to be. We like to eat and sandwiches are not anough for us. There are a lot of chineese restaurants there where you can eat soup, meat, salads. We really liked Gia Lam that was 10 minutes from the Hotel. It's cheap but the food there is amazing. Close to this restaurant you can find big supermarket. And the fruites there are also cheap. The metro station is in 5 minutes. It is 45 minutes by metro to the Central park.
I suppose that it's only our issue - we like more tough matress.
Breakfast end time
Bad smell , very low quality of food no variaty at all , alot of changes in subway trains in this station in weekend
One night at $200.00 where the others day we pay $157.00. Respectfully request a credit on my credit card for the difference on price.
It's clean and convenient.
The mattress and pillows can be better.
The location was alright, it was in a poorer neighbourhood of Brooklyn but the hotel was 5 min away from the D line (yellow). It took us about 35min to get to downtown which is not too bad.
The staff was not welcoming. Once, we came back at 1am and the concierge was watching an action movie at the front desk. He didn't even acknowledge our presence. Basically, anybody could just walk into the hotel, so we did not feel very secure. Now, about the room. First, the walls are so thin that you could hear everything in the hallway, including the constantly slamming door leading to the stairs. Second, for some reason, there is a long vertical window with a curtain in the washroom. So, in the early morning or at nighttime, if a person goes to the washroom and turns on the light, well it disturbs everybody else in the room. Third, the linens, pillow, towels are super cheap. I suggest bringing your own pillows.
Better than i was expect, good breakfast, good room, good staff, all clean and near from subway.
Price is affordable with free breakfast
Location is far, room is small
The location is near subway station (line D, 9th st, or 25th at 4th), 15 minutes of walk. The room was clean.
Overpriced, but that is how NY is. Noisy A/C-s are heard over the night, bring your earplugs, and it will be fine.
Very close to the Subway
Sheets on the bed have been at least one size to small. In the morning you sleep directly on the mattress someone was sleeping on before you.... Perhaps they should use fitted sheets. Same about cover sheet. Mildew in the bathtub was ugly. No avability to make a coffee during the day, also it would be nice to have access to the microwave. Phone in the room did not work I had to go to reception desk to call my credit card and have strangers listen to my conversation. I would not recomand to stay there for mature couple.
Good price Clean wifi
small breakfast room
The hotel is close to a subway station (short walk away)
Staff were not friendly. Hotel was very noisy with staff and other guests making lots of noise at all hours of the night. Rooms did not look like the images on the site. Rooms are much smaller than they come across online. The area of the hotel is not brilliant and you would prefer to not walk around it late at night. From my opinion it was not value for money.
Very convenient location - 5 mins walk from subway station, and 15 mins ride to Manhattan. Delicious brekfast, good WiFi, very friendly and helpful staff.
The rooms was tiny - we hardly could find some space for two suitcases. Everything else was just fine.
Nice small hotel. We stayed for a couple of days after our cruise. Close to cruise terminal (about $15 taxi fare). Very close to 9th Avenue subway station- easy 3 minute walk, felt safe enough. This is in a working neighbourhood so the area around is not beautiful however the hotel has been completely renovated (marble floors and bathrooms-no carpets in the room) and was clean and well kept. Our room was on 5th floor at the back and there was no noise. There is an elevator once in the building. Front desk staff was very helpful with useful tips and information. Breakfast was good but quite busy. It took us less than an hour to get to La Guardia by private cab ($60 including tip). About 20-30 minutes to Times Square by subway (D line).
