Staff was helpful, grounds were mostly clean
We stayed in room # 148, paid $ 112.00 with hotel taxes, I would of preferred to sleep in my car ! Not one tropical picture on rhe wall. Floors were filthy, big hole in ceiling you could see the rebar. rusty shower, rusty microwave, no coffee,no filters for coffee, no hand or body soap, no remote for TV, old mattress, floor lamp shade just hanging, bathroom smelled of urine. We didn't check in till after 11 pm and checked out promtley next morning. I'm sure the private owner could afford to fix up
the cleanliness of the grounds, quiet, pool rules enforced very strictly, all rules enforced. makes me come back knowing I can count on quiet
someone was smoking below me
Bed was very comfortable There were lots of cups, so I used them for leisure drinks Lights above bed was very romantic
Shower was waaaay to small

Kitchenette area in the room. Fantastic pool and sauna. Friendly staff. Lots of parking space with free alternatives available in case full.
A bit pricey. No wifi in the rooms.
Great location. Even though it was on a third floor walk up it was a great view. Close to the pool.
Room 331: Room not a good fit for young children. Of all the rooms I got one with rickety rattan furniture. And a glass top rattan table. The bed was not a queen it was a full. There was no door to the toilet/shower area. The shower knobs were so sensitive could barely turn them too hot too cold. Dirty shower. The TV was in an armoire and could only be seen from the couch. The sliding lanai door didn't close all the way. And lastly the air conditioning unit was on the floor... Doesn't everybody know heat rises and cold air falls??? I have stayed here before and had a much better room for cheaper! Not worth $124.00
We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and the lanai. The air conditioning was acceptable. The kitchenette came in handy. The location was great.
Limited parking. No housekeeping; limited supplies, like, buy your own toilet paper if you run out. Tile floor was not washed. It should not be advertised as a "hotel". The place needs updating, which is probably why they are changing it into condos
Could not ask for better location on Alii Dr. Great kitchen. Pool and even a grill. The A/C is too small for the rooms and it didn't help that the door had a half inch gap making it difficult to sleep. Just do not stay on room 334
The location was great for the Ironman.
It was expensive, it was old and run down, the bed was sagging in the middle and held up by some plastic pipe. The kitchen had hardly any bowls etc. We ran out of toilet paper after a week and they wouldn't bring more, they would give us any more bin liners. You had to take out your own rubbish. No fresh towels for the stay.
It was not clean. We found dirt etc. Everywhere and ripped sheets and pillowcases etc. Wore flip flops in the shower. Only thing this place has going for it is the location.
Not much; the grounds did appear to be well kept.
Dilapidated state of the room, especially the bathroom.
Loved the view, the location, the furniture and AC. The staff was generally pleasant and helpful.
The patio chairs smelled of BO and the staff was not consistent with some instructions, such as the movement of patio chairs for hurricane.
Excellent view & location beated any other negative things.
There wasn't coffee table and only 1 sink for kitchin & bath. The bath/kitchin ceiling was dusty.
Location was excellent. It was quiet, clean, beautiful plants around the Inn. Very close to excellent eating places , particularly Lava Java.
Very minor issues. Shower head needs fixing. Front door sticks a bit.
It was small.
I had to stay 3 nights I live on the other side of the island, we lost power due to Hurricane Iselle so I decided to stay in Kona. This place was the oy least expensive place I could find for my budget. I got more then expected it was a studio condo kitchen, closet with a dresser, hanfers, blow dryer plenty of towles ,A/C, microwave, refrigerator, beautiful lanai facing the pool with shutters if you need or like privacy. The bed is the kind that hide in the wall, has a therapeutic mattress a little stiff for me but it worked. I felt like I lived there. its only steps away from Alihi Dr your in the smack center of all the shops, farmers market restaurants etc.my room was 330 Molakai building I will be going back and book the same room. Its good for one person or a couple since its one bed. loved the decor it was clean. See you soon.
Little parking but I got lucky. No Wi-Fi in room this was ok for me. No shampoo its ok for me I have my own. NO Coffee :( but I did have a coffee maker so I bought my own coffee
Room was full equiped with a kitchen and an air conditionner.
We found a tone of BED BUG on your first accomodation. After, finding out, we change room....
Location. Refridgerator had a decent freezer.
Air conditioner size is very inadequate. Shower handle bad. Only steps to third floor. $112/night was too much for this.
Location, Location, and Price. Property was beautiful. Staff was nice.
Rooms need to be updated and modernized.
This place is in scream need of immediate remodeling
Easy location to find and use as a central point to go in any direction on the island. Everything I needed for my visit was there.
Limited communication on worse case plan as the storm approached. Unclear if flooding was possible. It appeared it was of little concern as all staff left the property as the storm was forecasted for the overnight hours.
Ocean view, vegation, location, and room was nice.
Bed mattresses need changing, room was not cleaned, no new towels, etc., no shampoo, no ice machine which is OK but wasn't given any commiunication informing me of such.
Location Rooms View Walking distance
Bed was too firm Not enough parking
The room was pleasant. The grounds were fairly well groomed. The location was convenient.
Some of the rules regarding the use of the grounds and the pool/spa area were extremely unreasonable. We were told we could only enter and exit the pool via the stairs in the shallow end of the pool. We were rudely snapped at by the night manager (Phylicia) for not wearing footwear at all times when not in the pool. My daughter and I are respectful and courteous guests, yet we were made to feel like we were intrusive. We will not be staying here again, and we will recommend to our friends and acquaintances in Alaska that they stay elsewhere when they come to the big island.
the location and price is the only good thing about this hotel. The room's size is good for 2 people.
The staff at reception was fairly courteous but gave info in a robotic way. I supposed if you do it day in day out it becomes a routine but we did not receive the same type of Hawaiian Aloha welcome that we did in other hotels. The staff at the residents reception was very unfriendly. There is no wifi in the room only available in the lobby which is inconvenient. The cleaner came into our room to clean as he was told we have checked out a day before so it shows poor communication between staff. There should be a fan in the room as the air cond does not reach the bed. Car park space was limited. Lastly, we were bitten by bed bugs I killed 2 crawling on my arm which woke me up!!!!! Then we found blood stains at the end of the sheet which means others were bitten too. Yucks!!!!
