Loved the 2 bedroom suite! Loved the kitchen, and the decor! Walking distance to most of the sights, wanted to stay longer
Finding a restaurant close by was difficult ( affordable)
We liked everything. I booked it from information given on the website and it exceeded all of our expectations. It was big and spacious, clean, modern, comfortable (with two TVs, complete kitchen, etc). We were there to tour DC and after a day doing that it was great to go back to this place to relax and unwind. The location was perfect for seeing all the museums and monuments and had easy access to dozens of restaurants. We stayed a week and were kind of sad to leave.
Good location. Big room.
The elevator makes a lot of noise. During the weekend the managers are not in the hotel and the staff is not allowed to decide anything! ...I asked to change to another room but the staff told me that during the weekend is not possible because the manager is not there... Managers are very unpleasant.
Convenient location for business and leisure travelers. Spacious bedrooms and equipped kitchens feel as modern home. Great feature is in-unit washer/dryer, many of alike hotels lack this one. Nearby grocery store and multiple pharmacies make life comfortable while you travel.
Very minor things: standard room rates feature only weekly clean-up service. Garbage should be taken care of personally, and if you stay more than 3 nights it is something to consider.
Wifi didn't work most of the time. Booking.com said it had a sofa bed in the living room, but actually not
We had the two bedroom penthouse, good location. Bakery nearby. Nicely decorated. With 3 people just enough chairs. Every day fresh towels etc.
Just to know, the coffee machine is an old fashioned, you need a filter and grained coffee. With 4 people, a two sitter couch and one chair may be not enough.
A hotel with space and excellent facilities in a good location is rare but this one has them. Two blocks from the White House and a stroll to the Mall, with the Metro one block away.
We had an initial problem with the room we were allocated but that was sorted out.
Location hotel little extra's
the cleaning staff abit pricey
Space Helpful staff Cleanliness Facilities Quiet
There was no close quality (and I stress quality) food store, I would suggest for your first day take food with you then you can shop around.
This Hotel is beautiful! Rooms were clean and spacious. Felt like this hotel is a hidden gem in the city
Location can't be beat! Excellent fitness room.
No grocery close, no windows in bedrooms.
The location was fantastic within walking distance of White House, shopping, restaurants, transport and coffee. The staff were very helpful, friendly, knowledgable of area and above all courteous. When we first arrived we had only booked for 2 nights however we decided to stay on, and the staff were able to give us a good deal. Our time in Washington was made more enjoyable by staying at the AKA Whitehouse.
Staff was courteous and knowledgable, tremendous value, easy parking, perfect location. Lacked nothing for our stay
Only complaint, washing machine was a bit slow
Nothing to not like.Everything was as advertised. If you want to be within walking distance of the main tourist locations & have the flexibility of self catering this is the place for you.
Great Location. Large and spacious apartment. Helpful staff. Will come back.
We enjoyed our stay at the AKA White House Appartments, everything was excellent, staff very helpful in anything we asked them about. Would highly recommend this centrally located property.
Location, location, location and that our room was a complete apartment. We were able to have groceries delivered and always have food and drinks available from the full sized refrigerator in the room.
There is some street noise in the livingroom. You can hear your neighbors from time to time. And since most people use this is an extended stay residence you do come home to cooking smells in the hallways. There is a bar, but no on site restaurant.
We were looking for apartment style accommodation close to transport and museums, the venue proved to be perfect, the staff were very helpful prior to our arrival (thank you Stephen) and during our stay. The facilities were excellent and the apartment was serviced daily. They even provided washing powder! Loved the Bvlgari toiletries too, a lovely touch. We have already recommended AKA to our friends.
Extremely spacious and beautifully fitted out - great colours, mainly white, grey and black. Lovely linen, bathrobes and towels. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows.
Nothing really but a little remote from restaurants etc at night. Seems to be in the financial district, but only one block to the White House
Large suite; kitchenette facilities; laundry facilities; location.
Reception had no advice for tourists - tours available, etc. No tea/coffee available in room (even though there was a coffee maker). The room was noisy - think it was hot water service and/or air conditioners
Really great location, friendly staff, newspaper available every day, the business centre.
I don't mind a once-a-week cleaning but a minimum would be to have the trash emptied more regularly. I also miss the replenishemnt of soap, kleenex and shower gel; when you are staying almost 3 weeks, it is difficult to do with one tiny piece of soap!
Spacious apartment places to relax and feel 'at home' No outside intrusion of noise. Great facilities e.g. washing cooking. Lovely toiletries. Busy schedule did not allow time to enjoy it for for long enough
Did not have enough time to enjoy more
The location - 5 minutes walk from the White House, the washington monument and Reflecting pool. About 5 minutes walk from Faragut West, on the blue line from Rexton, which is where the Airport shuttle bus drops you off. The appartment itself was very roomy and comfortably furnished, one bedroom + en suite, and another bathroom in the hallway for the second bedroom.
Basic food shops, for even just a packet of biscuit, were a fair trek away!
Poor cleaning regime. Had to remind front desk we were due for a clean. They advised that the clean had been organised for the day we were leaving!
