It was clean and most of the staff were helpful. The location was good, but overall not worth the money. We booked several weeks in advance and asked for a room off the street. When we arrived, no such room was available. We were asked if we wanted an upgrade at our own expense for a room off the street. We declined but later regretted it as there was construction all night long on the street in front of the hotel. We paid more than $1000 for three nights and were unable to sleep. Also, we booked what was described as a deluxe suite. These "suites" are actually fairly small rooms. Decidedly not worth the price.

the kitchen in the room. The hotel is refurbishing. The noise in the corridors is awful. Also, everybody in the hotel likes to slam the doors, guests and staff. The noise from the street is also terrible. Take a room facing back!

Location, location, location. It was a great place, with everything very close by. Even though we had a small room with a stunning view of a brick wall (yes, really), we loved the fridge and microwave that allowed us a little more versatility than a standard hotel. A free laundry with washing powder provided was a real bonus. Staff were friendly and courteous. Loved the umbrellas that appeared for use when raining. It was strange, and unnacceptable, not to have a safe in the room, so we had to take valuables out with us when housekeeping needed access. We stayed a week and the room was only cleaned once - would like to have had some toilet cleaner provided to do it ourselves. The cafe was a joke - we had paid to have breakfast included - what a waste. Staff were hopeless and coffee or juice were forgotten each day, and the food was cold and took a long time to arrive. The cafe opens at 7, which is quite late for a hotel, so our money was wasted on days we were on tours and had to be out early.

Excellent location- facing the famous Plaza hotel, two minute walk into central park and virtually on 5th Avenue by Fao Swartz toy shop, Tiffany and Abercrombie and Fitch. Times Square, Empire State, Rockerfella center, Grand Central, New York public library, Madison Square Garden and NH museum all in walking distance. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Large beautiful bedroom with huge bed, cable tv, dvd player, cd player, lovely bathroom with Molton brown toiletries and robes, useful kitchen area with microwave and coffee maker. Great gym. Business center free to use for all residents with DVDs to borrow, four apple computers with free Internet access and free printing. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great location, one block away from Central Park in midtown Manhattan. Across the street from the Fairmont Plaza and between 5th and 6th Avenues. From the moment we arrived, until checkout, our stay was superb. The manager, Jeff, treated us to a complimentary breakfast and checked our luggage while a room was readied for a very early check-in. Peaceful music greeted us in our spacious, spotless room. The kitchen was equipped with dishes, cutlery, scissors, knives, glasses, mugs... Everything we needed if we chose to stock the fridge or use the coffee maker or microwave. The lounge looked inviting and the fitness centre came complete with ear buds to listen to music while one worked out. Nutritious food was served by very friendly staff at aka Cafe. Concierges Elizabeth and others ensured our stay in the hotel, as well as our excursions, were enjoyable, explaining the subway and the other delights of the city to us first-time visitors. This stay was worth every penny. We will definitely return to this home-away-from-home when we next visit New York.

Vey nice hotel, perfect location. Reasonable price and size of the rooms (for nyc). The room was very quite - even though it was located near the elevator. Also, the street sound didn't bother us at night at all. We were given complimentary breakfasts at A.cafe, but we didn't go there - there are so many good places in nyc to have breakfast, and A.cafe menu was very small and not interesting at all. Though the cleaning service (once a week) was very very poor - they didn't even bother to clean the dust from the bedside table or change the waste bags. Then they desided to take away one of the bathrobes - very strange thing to happen.

Aka Central Park had everything one needs for seamless travel. Location was beyond excellent! This is minor, but I guess we were surprised that we couldn't charge the meals from ACafe to our room.

Staff service was great and location perfect with excellent restaurants, Central Park and shopping all within a block or two. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend aka Central Park to any fellow traveller to New York. Staff support was professional booking 3am hire cars and advising on local restaurants that were truly superb. The best eating experience was Quality Meats right across the road from aka pricy but magnificent experience and fabulous food and wine list.

Loved the location, the cleanliness and the amenities!!! The business center was great! Loved that they provided a copy of the ny times. The room was unbearably hot....I Couldn't adjust the thermostat. It was fine the first night but then for some reason started to blow hot air. We then turned it off but then room felt stagnant. Also, I would love some complimentary coffee to go with the machine....really miss a cup first thing in the morning. Wish they would give travelers a list of events happening in the city for the weekend or maybe a mini map of the city (you could put these in the business center).

Aka hotel is a calm place to relax. Rooms are very comfortable and cleaned. The batheroom is perfect. The manager was really flexible and helpfull. There is not a restaurent in the hotel. The housekeeper made bed not correctely. You get difficult to cover your body with sheets. At the front desk, one lady was not kind. The café is small.

The location was great - right across the street from the Plaza! Cabbies had no trouble finding that. For a location like that the price should have been much higher... But it wasn'T. It was affordable! On top of that, the staff were so friendly and helpful I thought I must have been in another state. Very, very nice experience. The room was hot and I couldn't get the fan to blow regular air. It was set to blow out heat. The best I could do was turn it off.

Very friendly, pacient hotel staff, comfort room. Anyone didn't disturbed me. Quiet location in the heart of city. It possible to get a luggage in hotel storage for few hours (this is very useful if you have a lot of time after check-out). There was not a hairdryer. In my opinion, this hotel overpriced itself a little.

A perfect location in New York, and a confortable room with a small kitchen ( fridge, micro wave, ...).a quiet room, same if it was located on the street. Room with airdryer, iron and iron table, safe, and free wifi. Water noise in the bathroom, and air conditionning(very dry air in the room).
