Activity centre staff were awesome
my room could not access wifi
This was good value for money. I was only here for 4 nights and I didn't spend a lot of time in the room as I was out and adventuring.
The fold out bed from the wall. It was rather hard
Called to say I would not be arriving due to weather and flights. Hotel staff told me they would call manager and then call me right back about charging for cancellation. Never heard back. But then received two messages about arranging for late ck in.
We couldn't store our buggeges before check in and so we couldn't go so far.
location was excellent - cheap for the area - you get what you pay for
no hot water
The best part was that we were only there one night.
When you rent a hotel you expect certain amenities, like day running water. A bed that's at lady a bit more comfortable than an old pull out hide-a-bed.
Awful bed, had a 1 night stop over and you get what you pay for ha
Bed hidden in wall No daily housekeeping Carpet on floor is VERY old and dirty No luggage storage
I'm honestly not sure how it compares to other 2-star hotels, but I thought it was a decent room and a good value based on location and comparing against some hostels I looked at online. I personally found the bed to be comfortable enough, even though it was one of those beds you pull out from the wall. It has a kitchenette with almost everything you need for cooking, so you can potentially save lots money on food if you decide to cook or microwave frozen food or leftovers. Unfortunately, if you rented a car, the cost of parking (or god forbid, parking tickets) may offset that savings.
There's no parking for the hotel, so you need to find parking on the street. This can be a HUGE hassle if you rented a car, as it is difficult to find free parking. And if you park in the meters, you'll have to wake up at 7am to feed the meter and move you car later. I only stayed 1 night, but once I found a metered parking spot, I didn't want to drive anywhere bc I didn't want to lose my spot. (I think Sunday metered parking is free, however.) Also, once you pull out the bed from the wall, you lose the living area to the bed. Lastly, I think the 1 bed would be a tight fit for 2 people, but those on a budget can make it work.
Super convenient location mid-Waikiki. Room was adequate for 2, but no more. As the cheapest in Waikiki, it was nicer than I expected. Good recent renovation job.
Budget hotel lacks WiFi, pool and parking. Tight fit of buildings led to above-average noise.
Had a kitchen, was conveniently located for walking.
Noise, elevator didn't work, building needs upgrading. Required us to check extensive kitchen list upon arrival and clean everything after use. Does this mean we all trust the prior visitors properly wash the dishes?
It wasn't loud inside, it was near a lot of places, and it wasn't dirty.. And the man at the front desk was really nice!
March 14, 2015 was the day they were gonna get the pest control people to get in an clean them out.. But we happened to be booked on the 13th and stayed for a day... So we happened to run into one large cockroach.. Which was fine... Tried to kill it but it wouldn't die.. So i just trapped it.. And hoped that it didn't get away..
Great location and kitchen facilities were excellent.
Hotel building is old though (but renovated nicely) and no double glazing meant it was quite noisy. Also the WiFi didn't work and when I asked at reception they advised the internet guy had to call them back to fix it with no estimated timeframe.
The staff were very helpful and amenable, the studio room was well-equipped and well thought out. Everything worked. Great Korean Barbeque place just next door. Bed and sofa were comfortable. Great value for money. Close to beach, shops, good coffee places and the buses stop right outside. 8 out of 10 for general cleanliness. Internet worked great (and was free!). First place we've stayed in in Honolulu that did not have ants and/or cockroaches!
Stayed on a Thursday and the nightclub music kept us awake until the early morning, even with earplugs in. Could also clearly hear all activities in the adjoining apartment. 'Hot' water was only just tepid. Carpet had nasty stains and the outdoor carpeting was very grubby. Curtains let light through all night. Would be great if they had black-out drapes.
Location was excellant.Cleanliness of room.Safe in room.
Location of tv in realation to bed. Some staff not helpful unless pushed. No late check out for travellars with night flights and no baggage storage.Noisy nightclub downstairs.
Reception was much better this time. Helped with storage of luggage. Close to bed, car hire, restaurants and tourist places. Rooms basic, but clean and close to the action.
Uncomfortable to watch any TV if murphy bed is down. TV is obscured by cupboard doors which cover murphy bed when in upright position.
No hot water, no wifi, Kobz stains on bed, remote didn't work, clogged sink, place was horrible, no luggage storage
Smelly entrance way and corridors, unwelcoming reception staff , beds hard as nails , sofa bed is not a bed at all but a segmented couch with sloping seat very uncomfortable. Instructions for clean up is not for holidays at all but for a school camp
No fuss accommodation. Kitchenette was good to have. Dr onsite. Handy to transport, beach and shops.
Location is in the middle of Waikiki but is loud.
I wish the front desk and manager would have tried harder to help assist me with a problem I was having.
Check in time is very late. No luggage room.
The location is awesome and near everything in Waikiki area. The staff was great, as well. The Activity Hut owner right on property which made it very easy to book things you wanted to see. I stayed a month and the value for the money spent was worth it. I would stay there again.
The place is somewhat outdated but they are renovating the rooms so it will be better very soon.
Central location, Needed something for one night and the price was right.
The bed was very hard, uncomfortable and squeeked with any movement. The loud music from the pub on the property reverberated through the building till about 3 AM. Window AC was too loud for sleeping and street noise was as loud in the room as on the street.
It's above a strip bar. No hot water for entire stay. Rude staff did not care about no hot water. Wifi-use a pidgeon-itd be quicker. Room-think of a bad 70's porno with mirrors everywhere, with the same old bed from the 70's. It WAS the worst accom I've ever stayed at. Sleep at a hostel would be better. Located next to a large construction site, so no need for an alarm. Loud music from the strip bar below almost drowns out the bouncers asking if you want to see the show. Toilet broke to top it all off. Again staff didn't care. Best feature was the front door & hotel looked great in my rear view mirror.
Kitchen was great even though we didn't use it
No luggage storage as supposedly they were renovating but this made our stay very limited. Bed is a pull out from wall ok comfort but noisy.
