Great beachfront location. Excellent value for money. Friendly people... although we booked like a hotel, this facility is actually a time share, with many long term returning members...a majority of whom are "mature" adults. Thus, a safe, quiet, non-party atmosphere prevails...if you are looking to carouse into the wee hours, look elsewhere. We were in a 3rd floor studio overlooking the beach, and watched the sun come up from our balcony. Room was equipped with cable, flat screen, Blu-ray player, full-size fridge, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, electric can opener, and iron. Although pools and courtyards are small and modest, landscaping is kept up nicely. A place like this comes down to what you value, and it met our needs perfectly. But it will not be for everyone.... Since we knew what we were getting ahead of time, we were satisfied with what was delivered. However, if you want daily housekeeping, a fancy lobby, a restaurant or bar, concierge, a spacious room with the most modern design flair and fixtures, La Costa will disappoint. Go spend 3-4 times as much to get these things right on the beach somewhere else. This is basically a beach vacation the way your grandparents did it (and still do!), with some modern conveniences thrown in. We were in a small studio room, with a Murphy bed and a pull-out couch - any more than 2-3 people in such a room will be very tight. Make sure you verify room type and sleeping accomodations before you book.

location Both of us had vivid, independent and unpleasant dreams relating specifically to our room at La Costa. I am not a believer in ghosts but SOMETHING weird is going on at the La Costa Beach Club. Neither of us will ever stay at La Costa again. Your question advised me not to use this review for complaints. How can "what you didn't like" Not be a complaint? Steve Smith

The location is perfect. You walk out of your room and are directly on the beach. Rent two chairs for $5 each and you are set for the day. Previous reviews have stressed outdated furniture and rooms. This is very true.
