staff was great nelson and carlos are great staff
Staff, clean fresh rooms, great location in the heart of South Beach. International guests make breakfast MUCH FUN!! We love the place!!
The staff at the hotel were wonderful. They knew the area and offered great ideas for dining and sightseeing. Everything was within walking distance. Breakfast was an added Bonus. :)
Dont use their valet parking. The first night they left the window open: everything was wet. Traveldocuments and maps were missing. The second night it took them 40 minutes to bring the car. All the settings i. the navigation system were cancelled. The parking next door is cheaper and more efficient.
Roz and her friendly staff can't do enough for you. The hotel is spotless. Great location.
Very friendly welcome and service. Hotel offers a great lobby and breakfast, rooms to the left side are quiet enough, on right side is a construction site as of 2015, but of course closed after work.
Announced free cocktail (or drinks) hour turns 4-5pm out as a free Coke or Sprite can upon request, anyway some cocktails are offered from 4 dollar then upwards.
The staff we interacted with were outstanding and very personable- Nelson (Front Desk ), Giovanni(Bartender), and Marco (Front Desk). Loved the retro / vintage feel of the hotel and that this place has been preserved instead of rennovated or destroyed. Great location!
The previous occupant of our room had obviously smoked in the bathroom - geez how rude on their part!
Breakfast room a little crowded.
Small friendly atmosphere. Happy hour. Great staff. Nice breakfast included.
Too noisey. Kept us up past 3am. We were in the front of the building on the 2nd of what I believe was 3 or 4 floors. Music played from somewhere all night. No one at the desk after 11 to ask for assistance. Thin walls let the street noise feel like it was right in your room. Sweakey ceiling above us made noise every time anyone moved above us. The windows need to be cleaned. I suggest if you stay here get a room on the top floor in the back of the hotel.
Everything!!! No complaints at all.
*Location is fantastic *All the staff is fantastic- Ross, Chris, David couldn't seem to do enough for us- yes this was WOW factor service! *Love the Art Deco front and lobby *With breakfast and happy hour, this is quite reasonably priced lodging, ESPECIALLY for this area. *The room is really a suite with wet bar and mini-fridge, huge flat screen TV and a separate bedroom through a closable arch. *There is a decent sized lift (elevator)
When we thought our flight out might be delayed beyond our connection time, we wanted to stay an extra day. Unfortunately, the hotel was all booked up!
friendly, helpful staff
the staff was great; friendly and accommodating. The facilities clean and comfortable. Location just one street away from the beach & all the action.
Location, Helpful statt, and Happy hour
Staff, location and style
staff very polite and helpful. Location is great: midway art deco district and Lincoln rd Cleaninless of rooms welcome drink
all was ok
I stayed here during an impromptu visit to Miami (never recommended, especially in Miami, as the price:quality ratio here is the inverse of just about any other tourist location. Meaning: everything is overpriced and dumpy. There is not ONE place to stay that is worth the price they charge. However, if you attempt to stay anywhere for under $120+, you will regret it. With that in mind, I thought this place was a very good value compared to others in South Beach. Here are my thoughts: PROs: -Friendly reception. I was greeted and attended to immediately, and even allowed to check in a few hours early (In fact, the man at reception kept apologizing even though the hotel was not at fault since I was early, and the hotel was fully booked, so we were waiting on the couple to check out of the room [late]. My room was promptly cleaned and I was escorted to it, then informed of the breakfast hours and happy hour with half-price drinks for guests and a free drink during my stay. -The night reception, John, (the brother of the day receptionist, Lewis), was also extremely friendly and helpful in recommending places to see or restaurants in which to eat. One night while we were chatting, a few different guests returned and thanked him for his restaurant advice. -The lobby was simple, stylish, inviting. It had an almost southern plantation feel to it, and many guests would relax in their lobby or on the large front porch sofas and chairs. -Great location at Collins Avenue and 12th, just out of earshot from the clubs, but only a few blocks from everything - the nightlife, the beach, Española Way (just a bunch of tourist restaurants, really), between Ocean Ave and Washington Ave, and two blocks from the touristy outdoor mall, Lincoln Road Mall. -Quiet place to stay and sleep. This is not a party hotel, but is only blocks from the party. -The room, bathroom, and lobby were clean. I saw the lobby floor mopped by the receptionist twice a day. That's just what I saw.
CONS: -the Wi-Fi did not work in my room no matter which code I used. However, Miami and Miami Beach have notoriously weak Wi-Fi systems/signals. -The bathroom was rather small and ordinary -The bedroom plantation shutters allowed a fair amount of light into the room, so if you wish to sleep in late, this may bother you. -It's a little pricey - around $110 - $140 a night for a one-person queen bed room (depending on the season and how far in advance you book), but as I mentioned above, Miami is expensive. There's no way around this.
Staff was friendly.
Trouble sleeping, garbage truck early both mornings, bottles being slammed late evening into early morning, bathroom needs upgrading, and I did not feel the hotel was worth the price I paid girl the second night.
Friendly staff Free: wifi, water bottles, refrig, cocktail hr, bkfst
-very good location (1block from ocean drive) -realy nice and confortable place -good wifi free -good breakfast included -happy hour wt free drinks for the guests
-expensive, but worth it -only paid parking available (30US per day)
Staff were friendly and very helpful with restaurant recommendations. Very good location for exploring South Beach on foot. Happy hour with complementary drinks.
Very high price during Christmas break. Bathroom with typical US fixed shower (no hand shower). Breakfast very simple considering the room rate.
Hotel excellent overall, but special mention should be made of hotel staff, who were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. Highly recommended.....
The staff was friendly and helpful in getting us to places and activities that we wanted to do.
The check out was a bit disorganized.
The service was outstanding. The front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful.
1. Staff is great and helpfull 2. Nice barmen and drinks 3. Perfect location All Miami hotels are overpriced and poor relative quality (to many other countries) so this one might turn out to be good value for money considering location
1. Old 2. I expected much faster WiFi in US 3. Overpriced 4. Not comfortable enough to stay in the room much (thin walls, noise, no view) have to like to be outside. 5. Poor breakfast (probably like everywhere in Miami)
