Excellent location. Awesome roof top bar with great views.

Rather old facility, but they seemed to do a decent job of updating the hotel. Needs a cool inside bar.

The friendly helpful staff, comfortable bed, good restaurant, nice rec facilities. Clean. Convenient.

The room was somewhat small. There really were no comfortable chairs. No space in bath for a couple to spread out their toiletries.

Location, location, location, and the adobe style, the inclusion of restaurants, and the shops were important factors in my choice.

    Parking next door, but cramped.

Our stay at La Fonda was amazing. From Alec our bell boy to Patrick the desk clerk every single person we encountered was kind helpful and courteous. Rosario my massage therapist AMAZING!!!! Exceptional location!!!! We will definitely be returning.

The only problem was getting the room cool enough for me. I must add though I'm a pre menopausal woman!!!!!

La Fonda has it all: perfect "walkable" location, great staff, newly renovated historic building... Fabulous! When you head to Santa Fe make this your first stop.

Just returned from a wonderful two night stay at la Fonda. The location off The Plaza is perfect. The hotel staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The bar on the fifth floor has yummy food and the most amazing view of sunset in Santa Fe. Our room was well appointed, beds super comfortable and the bathroom had a great tub.

I stayed there with my mother & sister. We were so pleased the renovations were lovely & had left the old world grandeur & artistic charms (hand carved wood, hand painted glass). We relaxed at Happy Hour with wonderful margaritas & lively band, dined at the delicious Sunday brunch in the lovely main restaurant, & relaxed at the Bell Tower watching the sunset. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The rooms were beautiful with painted headboards & had conveniences such as refrigerators, coffee/tea, & a safe. La Fonda is in the heart of the Plaza, so we were only a few steps from an arts & crafts festival, the historic cathedral, museums, fun shopping, & many galleries of incredible art. We will return as soon as we can!

    That we had to leave.

Pool area was good. Great location. Staff was pleasant. Nice evening entertainment.

Bathtub was too high. Dangerous to exit. Shower curtains did not close properly. Some flooding. Dinner sitting was not good. Had table on pathway of shops eventhough there were available tables is the restaurant.

The style and architecture of the hotel.

The bar could do with a 'cozy corner" where you can have a quiet drink, rather than be involved with the music and band activity.

The location cannot be beat. The room was decorated in the appropriate southwest style, but tastefully, not kitchy. We have loved the French Pastry shop for years and will eat there regardless of where we stay, so it was a treat to just walk downstairs. The main dining room was lovely with excellent food and service.

Our room was a handicapped one even though we don't need those amenities. It needed more counter space for women's essentials. Also, we could hear the band in the lounge and one night something was going on in the ballroom and we could hear the music. We turned the fan on high and that helped.

The La Fonda is THE hotel in Santa Fe, in my opinion. It can be pricy, but the restaurant is great and the rooms, even the small one we had, are wonderful.

The staff at the front desk can be a little grumpy, but everyone else at the La Fonda is absolutely wonderful.
