La Luna Inn, a C-Two Hotel  

All locations in the city were overpriced due to a large convention in town, so not much was available. We booked LaLuna based upon other favorable reviews on Booking.com. The rooms were in poor condition--they are renovating, but that is not communicated on their website, and their prices do not reflect the disrepair the rooms were in. The carpets were torn, and our first room had what looked like a large vomit stain that had been lamely covered up with powder carpet cleaner. It was unacceptable. I asked for a new room and gave the staff an hour and a half to find us one. The one we were moved to had a sopping wet carpet and smelled like bleach. I don't know what kind of housekeeping they perform but this was definitely not a $219/night room. Not even a $100/night room, regardless of the sf location. Noisy rooms, traffic below, and the elevator is out of commission so our guests had to lug their bags up three flights of stairs. The manager was also conveniently not around until the time we were checking out. I requested a $100 discount on our rooms as we did not have an option of changing hotels given the timing, but they only gave me a $45 discount which is the normal price of the rooms ($194). In sum, a total rip off and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The bed and bedding were great.

The free wi-fi did not work. The free continental breakfast was an orange, coffee and bread.

Easy, free parking for San Francisco. We loved being close to all of the restaurants and shops on Chestnut Street. It is one of our favorite neighborhoods in San Francisco. The rooms were modern and the staff was helpful and nice.

It felt dirty, especially the bathroom. And it was extremely noisy, since it was on Lombard Street. We also had people that kept trying to open our door during the night, so it didn't feel safe at all. There was little to no lighting in the stairways up to the second and third floors and poor lighting on the balcony.

Room was large & comfortable. Checked in, crashed & left. Good for a biosphere trip on a budget

Carpets are old and gross on your feet. Bring flip flops

Close to great shopping and dining area (Chestnut Street), easy to find, free parking.

Very old hotel which needs updating, room facing courtyard had little natural light. Felt a little like a prison cell, especially the bathroom. Would not recommend if you're going to be spending a lot of time in your room.

The staff was helpful and courtious to me and to other guests. The location is a good one if you know your way in Pacific Heights and the downtown area. The price was moderate in a very expensive city. Breakfast was not imaginative, and could have been. It should last until at least 10 a.m. The towels are good, and the bathrooms large. The maintenance was a bit shoddy---broken iron, and missing water plug in the sink.

With a bit more effort, and very little more expense, it could have been more comfortable. It needs some new carpet ant better furnishings. The traffic was high during my 5-day stay, and I did not notice too many complaints---most all of which were promptly addressed.

It was affordable with free parking.

Close to everything we needed and by far the cleanliest and most updated hotel in the marina district. I love that it's walking distance from chestnut st where there is a plethora of shopping, dining and drinking. Oh and the parking is free!

Although it's the most updated hotel and possibly the most recently remodeled hotel, it still could use some more updates or continued maintenance.
