The location was terrific a stones throw from beach and shops and the owner was very nice. She wasn't intrusive but was available when needed. Although you could hear the cars on A1A, the complex was very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen appliances could use some updating - the microwave worked intermittently but looked brand new and was clean. Some minor inconveniences but nothing that would prevent me from returning.

I loved the relaxed atmosphere, the quietness of the motel and the always smiling and friendly owner. Even the other guests rapidly felt almost like family: everyone was talking to each other and everyone was extremely nice. La Mer Motel is not for someone looking for luxury accomodations but I was really able to relax and enjoy my vacation. Just lovely!!

A block from the beach, clean, kitchenette, just far enough from the restaurants and bars that it is quiet, but close enough to walk to them. No on site person when I checked in just a note with my name on it on the office door. The only toilet paper was on the roll, no extra. We had to go out at midnight to get more . The office door had a sign saying they would be in at10, but an hour later still no one.Also, the amount was supposed to be for three people but they charged me$12 extra pet day for the third person.

Motel tranquille, fait pour des adultes désirant le calme et le repos, a proximité de la plage (3 minutes de marche), des restos, bars, magasins, épicerie, pharmacie. Manager très gentille et attentionnée, très propre. Le seul point faible, salle de bain vétuste, le bain et toilette devrait etre changés. Salle de bain devrait subir petite cure de rajeunissement.

The hotel is in a great location across the street from the beach. The hotel is close to the restaurants and shops. This is a mom and pop hotel well kept and clean. The bathroom could use some upgrading, as the shower the bathtub was very old and rusted in some areas I also ran out of hot water within about 5 minutes of my showers, and the toilet handle needed to held down in order to flush properly.Also, the kitchen could use a new toaster (the handle was broken) and coffee maker. But, don't let this deter you from staying here. Just think of your vacation as a home away from home when you first moved away from home! The dishes, silverware and some of the decorations looked like they were garage sale finds - mismatched but charming! The beds are comfy and clean. You can tell the owners take pride in making sure their guests are happy. They even let us borrow some chairs and a beach umbrella to take to the beach. The courtyard area was very cute and well cared for and the pool was nice and refreshing! There are several lizards that live in the courtyard and a couple liked the area right outside of our door. They would always greet us as we came and went. By the middle of the week we had named them Fred and Ethel. We then noticed a couple more by the pool area and called them Lucy and Ricky! One thing I do have to mention is that three nights in a row when we would come back for the evening we found one rather large cockroach (or maybe Palmetto bug?). We didn't see anymore, and we did report seeing them to the owner. So, I am sure she took care of the issue. Again, please don't let this deter you from staying here, I just felt like I needed to mention it. But, I would not hesitate to stay here again! This is a budget hotel in a nice area, with wonderful owners!
