Location, welcome glass of champagne, great staff, wine and cheese, milk and cookies, fabulous champagne breakfast, shuttle service--LOVED everything !!!!!
Can not think of one thing we didn't love !!!
Outstanding staff. Beautiful property within walking distance of downtown and the beach
Rack rate is ridiculously expensive
The breakfast was the best we had in our trip, very fresh and a great choice of quality food, the staff were friendly and helpful, the building and gardens beautiful, with resident humming birds a bonus.
Our room, one of the less expensive ones, was rather small and the lack of AC was a surprise.
All the staff members were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were fresh and plentiful. The hotel was quiet while we were there but we were told it is normally much busier. In a quiet position 5 minutes walk from shops and restaurants. Suited our needs very well.
Minor issues - bathroom window wouldn't close properly so couldn't be locked. Didn't worry us much, we still felt secure.
What was there not to like?fabulous staff, gorgeous sea view room, great location, lovely breakfast, champagne on arrival but most of all the wonderful Jovann who was so helpful during our stay.. Taxing us,booking restaurants so pleasant a guy.
Champagne on arrival Well-appointed rooms Excellent shuttle service into town Helpful, friendly staff Beautiful grounds and location Very clean Delicious breakfast
Bar very expensive and closed very early Other clientele rather snobby!
Nice view and location, elegant older facility. The breakfast included with the room was fantastic and appealed to all diets and appetites.
The bathroom was small, cramped and poorly designed. At least we didn't spend a lot of time there.
Very efficient and friendly staff. Location is superb.
Room overlooked main entrance. Noisy on Friday night. I had asked for a quiet room. The room rate of over $500 was excessive. No safe in room.
couldn't stay long enuf.
Well run comfortable hotel with very helpful staff and good ameneties..
Air conditioning in bedrooms would be an added benefit although there was often a soft sea breeze to help air circulation.
Room was tiny and bed short.
We thought the price for the room was too high by $150.00
The bed was wonderful. The staff very welcoming and friendly
The views, bed comfort, cleanliness, breakfast included
Room was promised 1hour, 40 minutes before actually available. We were awakened by work being done above our room @7:00 a.m.. There was no safe in the room for valuables
Excellent location with good on street parking. Staff very attentive.
Bar menu was very small. It was tough to find a quick bite.
The staff at registration was very efficient polite and friendly. The breakfast service menu was terrific and the food very tasteful. We particularly liked the wine tasting, and the landscaped beauty of the hotel
Lovely grounds with flowers everywhere, delicious food from the bar (had the bruschetta twice, good breakfast, awesome pool area, and very friendly staff. Stayed in the least expensive room and it was great. We walked to the beach and to town, we jogged on Scenic Drive, and didn't use the car for our entire 3 day stay!
I liked everything!
Location Clean Staff Settings
Hotel is very nice. Staff is polite and helpful. We had a non ocean view room, but it still had a large window with lots of light and a view of the neighborhood. The complementary wine at 5:30 and free dinner shuttle was great. I would stay again, but...
Make sure they are not hosting a wedding if you plan on staying. The wedding rehearsal and wedding took up the court yard Friday and Saturday and the Patio area with fire pit, we planned on relaxing at on Saturday night with a bottle of wine, was reserved by the wedding "Party" and closed to guests. In addition they had hip hop and rap music blasting throughout the hotel until 10:00pm. If they are going to host weddings they should build another patio ares for guests.
I like the location being close to the beach.
Strong smell of Chlorine or Bleach coming from the bed sheets and pillow cases. A bit further away from town center.
Beautiful hotel, really loved staying here and would recommend especially for couples. The rooms are very comfortable and the gardens lovely. Would recommend especially for couples for a nice relaxing break.
Nothin negative to add
Hotel communal areas are excellent, the breakfast is wonderful and the staff very helpful and personable. The gardens are beautiful and immaculately tended. The hotel has a charming history and a great location.
Our extremely expensive bedroom was a very dated tiny little box. We stay in great hotels in major cities around the world with prices comparable to the room rate we paid, and we were shocked by the size and standard of the room. We would go back, as overall the hotel is charming, but all the wiser we would insist on one of the bigger modernized rooms (the hotel has varying room sizes and claim many room have been refurbished).
Location, ambience, gardens, brunch.
We weren't informed at time of booking that there would be no elevator. Our room was located several flights of stairs above the ground level. My husband is disabled and had a most difficult time moving back and forth to our room. NO WARNING! When we asked if there were an elevator, the desk clerk said, "No. This is a "boutique hotel. We are not allowed to have an elevator." Someone needs to be educated. As seasoned travelers, we know that this is absolutely not true.
I loved our room with the garden and ocean view.
Had a small problem with wifi but it was just for an evening.
