Score from 163 reviews Very good
Very noisy at night. Floor in the room made our sox black.
Room needed repairs: toilet tank lid from a different one, no door sweep, bathroom door closure poor, and excessive noise from midnight to 4am other guests coming in late and loud.
The bathrooms could use some updates, as the tub had lots of patches in the bottom.
This hotel is affordable and is located close to the capital and UT. The beds were comfortable and the staff very helpful.
Overpriced because of regional festivals or sports events.
Close to UT and Sixth Street
Totally outrageous to charge over $500 a night. Ripping people off like this because you can (SXSW week). The room was a small step up from a dump! Shame on you guys.
The hotel was old, and the rooms were entered from a very narrow OUTDOOR hallway. The heat barely worked and the toilet was bad. The very small elevator broke down. Not worth the price.
The location was good.
That we had to pay for parking while staying at the hotel. They only have valet parking at the hotel and that is not mentioned on their website. It says free parking but there is no free parking. We paid $11.99 for our car to stay at the hotel which is not stated before you purchase the room.
I liked how it was close to 6th st. Made our lives a lot easier and not have to call for a taxi. We walked .4 miles which is not bad at all, short distance to everything which I liked.
Sound proofing from street (and late night partyers) noise needs to be improved. It was really obvious when the bars let out.
Loved how close it was to downtown Austin, and the Capital. Staff were great
- Staff, other than the valet, were underwhelming - Maid service didn't clean our room even after we requested. - Breakfast is TOO EARLY (intentionally, because it's free
- Location! - Price
The breakfast bar was poorly attended. They did not refill the water for 30 minutes and the Apple juice looked very very watered down. They also didn't refill the milk so I had to eat my cereal without milk.
The location was nice only an 11 minute walk to the UT men's basketball center. The Capitol is also extremely close!
NEVER HAD A HOTEL OR MOTEL TO TELL ME TO COME DOWN AND PICKUP WASH CLOTHES (NONE IN RM. WHEN WE GOT THERE.
- Mandatory valet fee should be included in advertised price. - Roaches! - Over all, our room, the hall ways, elevators etc. were dirty.
- The location was perfect. - Our room had a view of the Capitol - Valet and reception staff were well trained and friendly.
Noisy. BreakfAst was too late for marathon participants. Why not have breakfast an hour earlier for the day of marathon?
Location was near marathon start and finish.
The HVAC unit did not have a control of the fan speed that i would have liked. Needed to have a constant fan noise to block out outside noises.
The location in its proximity to the Capitol.
I booked one night on the day before arrival, and it was by very far the cheapest option in downtown Austin. Simple but OK, nice staff, conveniently located at the corner of the Capitol and not far from restaurants and bars. Good value for money.
The fact that there was less than 24 hours notice that the water would be shut off from 10pm-3am Also there was no mention of it when I checked in - by the time I got the notice it was too late to find another venue.
The hours for breakfast are a bit short from only 6 AM to 9 AM Monday through Friday I was hoping it would be 6 to 10 or 1030 for those of us who work at night and get up a little later in the morning
I was very pleased with the location of this hotel and the price I paid and the politeness of the staff and my room was very comfortable
noise. some rooms face the street, so others might not be so bad. Also the maid cart has hard plastic wheels that are very loud passing the window. Rubberize the wheel folks.
Location was perfect for me will bring ear plugs next time
Constant buzzing from the ACs
Excellent location (in centre of town)
One elevator was broken first night, then both by the morning. Light switch by the door to room did not work. Completely out of their hands, but loud construction crew outside in the early morning.
Valet employees gave excellent ideas and directions to best hidden locations in the city. Amazingly comfortable bed!
When we went to our room and opened the door, the bed was unmade and it looked like someone was still staying in there. We were able to get a new room quickly though. But we could hear everyones footsteps and rolling luggage outside our door all night long. It was just very loud all through the night and we got very little sleep.
Location was close to Capitol, close to the venue we came into town for, comfortable bed and pillows, pet friendly, free breakfast, large room, free wifi.
Only one elevator was usable and only four luggage carts were available. Not enough of either for the number of guests.
Perfectly situated for all of our activities.
Once we arrived our toilet wouldn't work or our television so a maintenance man had to come fix the issue. Then the following morning we found a massive cockroach in our bathroom! We were all so grossed out. Then we called room service for toilet paper & towels... they made us go all the way down to the front desk to get it ourselves when in reality most hotel services bring it up to your room!!
I liked that they has valet parking & complimentary breakfast.
Heater turned off and the room was too cold. The shower almost felt like a power wash. Toilet too low. Toilet seat needs to be round on the edges. Needs remodeling!
Great location. Nice breakfast. Beds were super comfortable and clean. Friendly personnel.
