Great staff, nice breakfast. Tony's restaurant next door is great!
Breakfast & free wifi
Cleanliness in the rooms
Spacious room at reasonable rate. Easy access to 91/95. By all means avail yourself of the free continental breakfast. There is an attached restaurant but the service is slow and spotty at best. The food is fine
Lackadaisical housekeeping. One day they cleaned the room but didn't make our beds? The next they made beds and cleaned the rooms but didn't empty ice bucket or leave new liner or cups. The biggest issue is with the key cards each night we would return to our rooms and our key cards to find our key cards had been reset. They tried to tell us it was because they were super sensitive to electronics and we had placed them too close to our phones or Ipads - I didn't buy it. I didn't happen in the morning when we went down for breakfast.
The location and a restaurant attached to the hotel was a very good Greek Diner. The beds were comfortable.
The room wasn't made up by 4:30 on the second day. The hair dryer didn't work. The staff were relatively uninterested in supplying a remote for the gym. The main areas were freezing.
It wasn't "bad" it was sub par and there were so many cracks in the walls I had a dream that the building fell apart and crashed to the ground. The iron did not work and the ironing board was bent and warped The bathroom had mold on the floor near the toilet it was obvious it the walls had been painted over wallpaper no fridge or safe available
Everything was fair.
Room smelled like cigarette smoke.
it smelled in the corridor. The bedding was not warm and the mattress was very flimsy. The sink in the bathroom was dirty and the water seemed to be rusty.
Feb. 15 was record freezing. We did not know to arrive after 3 and spent over an hour shivering in the lobby. Why didn't he send us to the warm restaurant. He didn't answer the phone when we called, tho said he did (matter unimpt.) and he gave us crazy instructions on how to find a location. He--or someone--failed to wake us as we requested for a medical appt. Everyone else was wonderful. BAD: No rubber mat in tube!
I just love all the excessive and repeated emails asking for my opinion on your hotel
your plywood sinks and your uncleaned room with ripped sheets. This location was horrible. I have seen better La Quinta locations and this did not meet the standards!
Room size a cleanness was great
The staff and community areas of the hotel were nice and appealing.
The elevator was small, the halls on the room floor was dirty, our room was freezing when we got there...it was like 50° we had to crank the heat up before taking off our coats in the room! The floor was not vacuumed and had toe nail clippings at the bathroom doorway floor...the bed to say the least was terrible!!! My husband and I were not able to sleep at all, the bed was sunken and rolled inward! We were staying over for a work awards event and were exhausted when we returned at midnight but we got no sleep!!! This was NOT good as we had a two hour drive home. We had always liked LaQuintas...but not the condition of this one. Please...keep other guests comfortable and make sure some heat is on...
Close to Yale University. Good size room, clean bed
Breakfast, staff, reception desk frequently unattended, appearance of lobby, view of parking garage, too expensive for what it is
Located in a rough area. More like a well worn college dorm than a hotel. Guests were mostly younger and there was open partying going on in the hallways.
Van shuttle service
Room key problem
Chris the desk clerk very helpful. And the shuttle drivers especially Ben
The elevator kind of shaky
Nice and easy on and off I95
Had to give them a deposit with my credit card and no one told me before they would not take cash.
Good location with a good price.
I spent over 10 days in La Quinta Hotel on Dec 2014 and it was really nice stay. Room was big, comfortable and rather clean. I felt safe. Breakfast were ok, with many options to choose. Fitness room was ok. The hotel offers a shuttle to city centre, which is a great and very comfortable solution, because the localization of La Quinta is not very good.
The hotel is located a bit far from the Downtown (about 25 minutes walk), but it offers a shuttle, availlaby for its guests all day long (till 9 o'clock), even on weekend.
The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and provided a good nights sleep.
It was raining and the room window was leaking into the room. It appeared to me that the elevators off the main lobby needed some maintenance servicing.
Staff was not friendly at all and did you make you feel welcome. The receptionist Jordan could not care less about the guests. I would not stay there again.
In our three day stay our room was NEVER cleaned, beds never made and trash never em
Trash never emptied. Service was therefore nonexistent.
Location is good for catching an early train to NYC. Staff is nice and professional. Free and reliable wifi connection. Free parking.
Not many amenities.
It was convenient and the price was right. The Greek Olive Restaurant had very good food.
Everything was in need of renovating.
Nothing at all.
For starters, I booked a double room and when I got to the hotel, my booking showed as a single. They had to change my room bc it smelled like a smoke house and was not on the smoking floor. The second room- the tub was dirty and when we tried to take a shower, the tub was stopped up. Around the tub was dirty and molded. This place was definitely not a 3 star hotel. I will never stay again! !!
You are certainly not paying for glamour here but it is a clean, if basic, place to stay in New Haven. Close to city (and ideal for Frank Pepe's pizza). Breakfast was fair - bagels, cereals, waffles and coffee.
It was a little grubby in parts, carpets in hall ways for example. With a lick of paint and a good clean it would be vastly improved!
