allowing pets in the hotel lobby for extended periods of time
short drive to providence easy access
looks old noisy a/c
The beds were soooooo comfortable - not too soft nor too firm...seriously just perfect. The breakfast was sufficient considering it is free - lots of breads as well as cereal, hard boiled eggs, and fruit. It was easy to get off and on I95 North and South. Dunkin Donuts is across the street. It was close to the Roger Williams Zoo. It was quiet at night. There is a grass "field" across from the entrance to walk your dog.
It seemed like no one cleaned up after their dog except for me. They should hang signs on that "grass field" so people feel obligated to pick up after their pets.
Right next door to a decent restaurant
Toilet didn't stop running
Clean, spacious room and friendly staff
Bed was like trying to sleep on concrete. I literally felt like my bones were being bruised by just laying on the bed.
Good price (RI taxes are crazy high!) with breakfast, makes value even better. Fresh waffles each morning was a treat.
Monday morning, 7am, trash trucks emptying the trash, arrggghhh. Saturday night, 4:30am, prank fire alarm... double argghhh.
The check in staff and the room were good.
The internet was slow or nonexistent, my room was at the end of the hall by the Housekeeping Office, so there were multiple loud door slams at various hours of the day.
Close to airport
Dogs barking in the night from a nearby room
Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Bed was surprisingly very comfortable
Guest next door had two dogs, and the people were. very rude as to the noise they made
The bed was no confortable
Prompt service by the staff
Linen on the floor of the first room assigned. And the bathroom wasn't completely cleaned.
Janessa the receptionist was so rude to us. While checking us in she was more worried about answer questions to other person behind of us. Employes handling food (breakfast) and changing trash without wash hands. Our room was open and dirty - some kind of powder in the bathroom and all over the carpet. They moved us to a smoke area room even we asked for a non smoke room. Terrible experience.
Staff was great, nice to have free continental breakfast.
Drink machine was not working on first day.
offered everything we needed for the money - pool, breakfast, internet ... the mattresses were outstanding!!
The location is very convenient to airport and to my new job in Providence.
The breakfast area has pretty poor flow. It takes a lot of jostling around to get your meal together, and often there are no places to sit. It may have been a very busy travel time, so would be better during slower times.
Drunken next door neighbours, blasting TV, loudly screaming profanity in the hallways at midnight, fighting, bleeding up the floors of the hallways. Cops arriving and making it worse by flushing their car lights into your window for a very long time. And that is at midnight!!! Just when you are trying to fall asleep knowing that you have to get up at 6am. After a while I came out to the front desk and requested a refund for my stay, as I was going to move out and go to the next door located Courtyard, but the clerk (James) repeatedly told me "sorry, I can not do it" and it is while I was threatened right there by their drunk customer who agressively told me to "get back in my bed" while grabbing a chair in aggressive manner. Shampoo and soap were never replenished on the second day. For the toilet to flush, you have to stay there holding the handle all through the flush cycle, otherwise it would not work. And never-ever stay in the room on the first floor. You would be listening to the plumbing and water running from upstairs rooms through the pipes behind the paper-thin walls. I never wrote hotel review, especially negative one before. Well, guess there is always the first. The place is horrible, avoid at all costs.
BREAKFAST - SHOULD HAVE EGG, BACON AND SAUSAGE FOR BREAKFAST.
It was a good stay.
Needs a bit of air freshener in the hallways.
Friendly staffs. Fast Wifi. Clean Room, Nice Location, Wonderful Breakfast.
Desk light is not working, but i dont need to use it anyway.
Staff were very friendly. Bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast was good. GREAT value for the money spent. Location was also EXCELLENT for commute to downtown Providence.
Although the facilities were very clean, they are showing their age a bit. The bathtub plug did not work, so my companion could not take a bath. Staff were friendly, but didn't really offer a lot of customer service. (Called "hello" from the back room when we entered early in the day and couldn't really offer information about the events in the area...told us to see the pamphlets on the rack).
This was our first experience of the La Quinta chain and we were very impressed. The friendly welcoming email with weather forecast just before we arrived was a lovely touch and useful for planning our trip. The facilities were very good, with comfortable beds, a very good self-serve breakfast and swimming pool, in a convenient location. Best of all, the staff were very personable, efficient and helpful, at any hour of the day or night. We had a lovely stay and felt that La Quinta represented excellent value for money. In many respects it suited our needs far better than a more expensive hotel in downtown Providence, and it cost less for 5 nights at La Quinta than for 2 nights at this other hotel! I would definitely stay there again & heartily recommend it to anyone.
While the overall cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, the bath tub in our room had a little mold and the basin was cracked. (The rest of our room was kept spotlessly clean, as were all communal areas.) The only other criticism I would have is that the hotel is situated in an industrial area with few amenities within walking distance. In fact, I took my life in my hands trying to cross the street to Dunkin' Donuts! You definitely need a car to get around. Having said that, the location is very convenient for Providence airport, Boston and anywhere in Rhode Island if you do have a car. And there's an airport shuttle bus that seems to run frequently.
Location, size of rooms, amenities
Room on the high speed rail line between New York and Boston, too many children
