“Great hotel, clean and comfy, quiet. Good neighbourhood and only 15 mins out of manhattan on the subway. Trains run right outside but are hardly noticeable. Perfectly located between two subway stations. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfasts good to get you going in the morning. Would not hesitate in recommending the hotel. Hope to stay again.”

We booked this hotel for a weekend break to nyc, the first weekend in December 2011. Our budget was around £100 per night and this hotel was perfect, as many in Manhattan within our price range had terrible reviews and pictures. Location was fantastic. Subway is no more than 5 minute walk from hotel in each direction, although we used 33rd St station most. Subway takes you directly into Times Square in approx 15mins for $2.50. Perfect. Felt safe in neighbourhood walking short distance from station to hotel, even at night. Room was large with a huge bed, plenty of room for 2 cases, wardrobe, drawers, iron and cable tv. Everything was very clean and we received fresh towels every day. Lift is very slow but really unnecessary as hotel is not that big. Would def recommend this hotel. Perfect place to rest your head in a city that never sleeps.

Close to the 30st Station, and 40st Station. with the line 7 In 15 minutes you will reach Manhattan. Besides there are plenty of restaurants around the block. Pharmacy 2 blocks, Mc Donalds just 1 block. Safe to walk in queens, up to 12 am there is a lot of people around. taxi from JFK will cost around 35$ + tip. The breakfast is on the 4rd day you stay pretty boring, It has to be improved.

Close to where we needed to be Third time at this hotel. Last year on Memorial Day weekend we stayed in the same exact room as we did this trip. I complained that the the door was frame was missing its latch/strike plate causing the door not to latch tightly when closed. They assured me that the maintenance person would fix it but he never did. Not only did he not fix it during our stay, he failed to fix it over the next year! The coffee is horrible, both in the room and the free breakfast area (slow, sparse and looks like mud)

The night fron clerk was attentive. The ac filt ers were clean. Toilets, plural, clogged. Sheets and towels yellowish from deep soiling, shower heads sprayed sideways, upward, everywhere. Two rooms smelled like a funny chemical or musty basement.

Clean, comfortable room for a reasonable rate. Amenities were not really as described. The included breakfast was not worth it.

Access to subway, continental breakfast, limited off street parking(good considering the public parking is limited in just about every way you could think of). The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The room key cards kept loosing their data from placing too close to your credit cards, or electronics in our pockets. We had to daily have our cards rescanned at the front desk. They are using the old magnetic strip type cards, what junk. La Quinta Corporate, you need to get with the times and provide or mandate the use of new technology such as chip technonogy like Best Western uses. What a hassle...

Not much... It wasn't too crouded as described in the other comments I read... The location is good, almost nothing to walk to gat to the metro station! The staff was very cold!! They didn't care about leaving the door downstairs during breakfast, even if it was freezing cold outside... The bed... There was one that was to soft (way too soft) and the other one was just uncomfortable...

The room was very comfortable and clean; the location was very convenient to the train and we were able to park the car and not have to worry about it for the duration of our stay. We had to request wash cloths and towels - they did not leave any wash cloths and not enough towels for the number of occupants; got the impression they did not have enough wash cloths and only got 1 for 3 people.

It was the first time we stayed away from Manhattan. This hotel was a very good option and we were very satisfied. 5 min walk to the Line 7 and 15 minutes from there to Manhattan. In 20 minutes you're on Times Square! It's a nice neighborhood, close to a school. It's safe to walk from the station to the hotel even late at night. The common areas smell badly, but not inside our room. We stayed in a two bed room and there wasn't much room left to walk around... But that wasn't a problem for us. The breakfast isn't the best, but it was good enough.

Great value. Breakfast had eggs, saugage, and the usual fare of cereals, bagels, fruit, etc. and ran from 6 - 10 AM. The room was clean and we had two queen beds which is difficult to find in Manhatton. The subway entrance was about 4 blocks away and I really enjoyed Pete's restaurant which was about 1 block away. Trip into Manhatton should have taken 20 minutes, but due to repairs on subway 7 route it took us about 40 minutes.

The room was nice and the breakfast good--a good value for the money. We thought we were a little closer to La Guardia so we had to spend $50.00 to get to the airport and back.. It was fine.

clean room; very close to line 7 subway/40th St stop; 20-25 minutes from GrandCentral/TimesSquare; relatively inexpensive - NYC is expensive; nice staff; left luggage possible free of charge room in the basement; noisy air-conditioning; poor choice/quality breakfast (fast-food/artificial style)

I liked the fact that La-Quinta was easy to get to and from. It was excellent for getting back to JFK on the trains. It was great location for getting in and out of Manhatten and for visiting friends in Brooklyn and Cambria Heights. Staff were helpful. Breakfast plates were too small so had to keep going back and forth for other things. Could do with another computer as had to wait a while until when the other one was finished to confirm my flight.

Location, few blocks from metro station. Staff, better education needed, maybe they are too young for this job. 2. Parking, first day I had to park outside because I checked in "late", 3. Clean service, they knock even though we have the sign, one day they left the window open, I have 2 girls.. And they just left the huge easy to access window open in the 5th floor. 4.Smells every where. 4. I specified when I booked I am tax exempted, but they charge us for the taxes,
