Only one train to time square. New to using the subway it was easy to get down town. Had a couple stores and corner market nearby to buy things you need.
Didn't have any problems but the area looked a little run down.
well situated good welcome I arrived four hours before check in and asked staff to give me a room at the back side if it was possible She told me that she will do her best and we had a beautiful quiet room !
I always liked that this hotel (that's why I came for a third time) is close to the subway bringing you within 15 mins into the center of Manhattan.
The stuff is not friendly at all even during my stay! I called them each time before coming and they have never been friendly on the phone!! This time I asked for a room on the side with view on the Empire State Building. I put this request into my reservation two months before my arrival. I called them three days before coming, the person said he cannot decide this now, it's too early!! At my arrival they gave me a room with another view, and I said why? The person said, because the hotel is full. This is absolutely no service. You call it's too early and afterwards it's too late?? The hotel got very expensive, I find, and for this price the quality is defintely not good enough. The cleaning is not well done if you look behind the door of the bathroom and beside the trash basket in the bathroom. Just quickly done. It is not possible to close the windows correctly (I asked if they could do something and they said it's like this) and you will hear all subways passing by! Never again!!
Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and also appreciated the tea and coffee in the room. It was very easy to reach central Manhattan on line 7 subway from 33rd Street / Rawson Street station, which was only a short walk from La Quinta.
The breakfast room was not quite big enough and sometimes guests had to wait for a table to become free. Otherwise everything was fine.
Spacious and decent accommodation. Very close to a Metro station. Once you get the hang of how the Metro works, Manhattan is easy access. Comparing price vs. room size against most Manhattan hotels, it offers very good value for money.
If only the hotel can provide a safe locker in the room.
Staff interaction, not happy at their job. no real help at breakfast meal. Lower rooms are dungeon like. Small room. Non draining sink. Lobby furnishings dated and seemed out of place.
We were a group of 3 friends. The location of the hotel is 20min till times square. Big and confortable beds. Great price for a hotel in New York !!
My like Brefast
the keys card no working
Cosy and comfy room, easy to get to the city as rail stops 2 blocks either side. Maids were excellent.
Employee smoking outside entrance doors. Also on return to hotel on 9/9/14, the reception desk smelt of canabis.
Reasonable pricing for a decent room 15 minutes from downtown by subway. Hotel is well kept in middle class area, with subway stop block and half away. Friendly staff and all room features worked. Good deal for the money.
Double Queen room a little small and somewhat cramped for 3 adults each with a medium suitcase for 4 days.
Convenient to the 7 train. Easy to get to Arthur Ashe or Manhattan. Decent restaurants nearby.
Breakfast so-so. Hey, it's La Quinta.
proximity to Manhattan reasonable breakfast
very small room
Front desk was very helpful. Well stocked breakfast every morning. Subway in an ideal location to get back and forth in any direction.
They gave us a room number with the keys. And there were other guests already in the room. So they gave us a new room and people opened our door with their room key as they were also assigned a room with people in it. I was also charger higher than the amount on bookin .com. No apologies no explanation.
Cleanliness,spacious, near sub way
Did not have room darkening shade, only sheers.
It was close to families house and subway
Room smelled horrible of cigarettes even the bed linens....the bed was very very firm almost like sleeping on the floor and for the price....I could have stayed in Manhattan
Room was OK, kinda of small but had all of the necessary things cleaned very well daily. Location good, train was short distance away, stores and shop close by..
Breakfast needs some work, not much to choose from, bread products abound, donuts was in short supply daily, coffee machine slow to brew.
Close to subway.fair value for price.
Breakfast room not huge.very slow elevator, use stairs.could be noisy with noisy neighbours
Close to Manhattan
Telephon in Romm did not work TV and Remote did not work properly One of the Computers not working properly
Bed was very comfy. Location was very short walk to subway. Petes diner is 1 block away for great food. Breakfast at the hotel is typical airplane food. I took a pass but hey its free.
Breakfast was like eating on an airplane. Everything was formulaic. Coffee blah eggs bleh. Even the bagels were bleh. I recommend Petes Diner 1 block away.
How clean and quiet
Room service didn't clean our room until 5pm and we had to request it
The front desk was like dealing with some one you were bothering. Parking at this hotel is terrible. The rooms are small, upon arrival I was assigned a room that was already occupied by guest. Not the best neighborhood!
Good location close to the subway and a short ride to Manhattan.
Liked the big flat screen TV
Not enough TV channels Bathroom toilet had pubic hair No shampoo bed was rock hard, did not sleep well at all!
