We liked everything, location was great, staff was beyond friendly, rooms were very clean, hotel as perfect
Great building! Tons of character through out. Good breakfast.
We really enjoyed the vintage charm of this hotel, though vintage does not mean it was lacking in amenities. We stayed in the Carriage House across the street from the main hotel and it was secure and comfortable and we had no issues with noise though you can't ever pick your neighbors so this may vary. There's a pretty decent coffee roaster right across the street and plenty of downtown restaurants and other amenities within walking distance. Parking is behind the roastery and was well lit and seemed secure. We had no issues though were sure to not leave anything in the car. Overall we had great stay and would choose Hotel La Rose again.
Stay at least 3 times a year
I would pay more for hot eggs and bacon
We stayed across the street in a complex of mini suites. Our bed had a down comforter and pillows. It also had a cute private balcony. The room was spacious and beyond comfortable.
Location and breakfast and free WiFi
We chose this hotel because of the beautiful building but when we got there they put us in a different place across the street without any early notification. There was no mention on the Web site there is another, not so nice, location for the hotel.
I was here on business, but would definitely come back with my wife for a nice romantic weekend. The hotel was very quaint, the staff was awesome, and rooms were very clean and homey.
That I couldn't stay longer......
The jacuzzi was fabulous, the veranda and water effects were restful....exactly what I needed. Delicious food very handy with window shopping for blocks in old town. And the staff was kind and helpful. I'll recommend to friends and family.
Wish there were wi-fi.
Breakfast was delightful, nice ambiance in rooms and lobby. Historic building with personal touches
Front desk person was somewhat inept. Messed up room charges
Lovely historical bldg with graceful touches. Comfortable room.
Sink faucet dripped, sink water handles were loose, somebody was outside of my fourth floor window on the fire escape smoking, front desk clerk was inept.
Historic hotel with lovely ambience
Very little was lacking.
Everything but the radio. Upgrade here would be much appreciated.
Fire alarm went off three days in a row. False alarm
The main hotel drips with historic charm, but we were assigned to the carraige house across the street -- very standard rooms, with old fixtures and furniture. Beds, however, were very comfortable.
We were in Carriage room #50, street level on a corner. We heard every early morning trash and delivery truck, as well as the clanking of the large iron security gate as guests came and went. I would NOT accept this particular room again. Free continental breakfast was very, very mediocre.
Spacious room, good selection of soaps, free parking in this area is a great advantage. Quiet area with access to the creek trail close by if you want to do an outdoor run in the morning.
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, cereals selection was too sweet. This hotel has a second building across the street which is does not give the same historic hotel experience. This is not advertised. Luckily I came here mainly for the location and quality.
We loved staying here.
The location is great and the old part of the hotel is delightful
I was very disappointed to have a room in the new part of the hotel. When I booked the room there was no indication that it would be in the new part. It was perfectly ok but not anything like the charm of the rooms in the original part of the hotel. The best side tables were water worn and unattractive.
The beauty, value, and location
The fruit at breakfast wasn't very fresh.
Historic atmosphere and quaintness. Location except by mission
Need blackout curtains. Kept waking up because light shining in
The facilities were great and well maintained. Had the feel of a B and B. We stayed in Carriage House across street - it was quaint and had the feel of being in a cottage. The location was gated, though and that added to the feeling of safety. The downtown area was nearby and had many cute thrift shops, restaurants and the mall was nearby as well. Perfect for just setting up in the room and walking out to enjoy the area.
It was across the street from the train station and there were always interesting characters in the area.
Beautiful room and location.
They had no hot water. They gave us a $30 refund
Free parking downtown near hotel.
Hot water took nearly 5 minutes to reach tap. Trouble with toilet backed up.
I enjoyed the location as anyone might who wants to walk downtown. You also have convenient access to freeways for going in any direction on the compass. But that's only part of the Charm the fit and finish for the rooms is excellent. I was very impressed by the whole experience with only one niggling issue. 4.5 Stars
The one niggling issue was the lack of something a bit more substantial concerning breakfast options. The Belgian Waffle is always a nice touch when added to say eggs, bacon, sausage and or local fruit. The addition of warm instant cereals with condiments. It would seem options would increase the overall experience. But then it was Christmas and had local eateries been open this might be moot.
