I usually stay at a Hilton property. This was a nice stay. Hotel had character and was something different.
Staff smoking by the parking lot. Had to walk by and inhale the smoke to get to the car.
This Hotel does not disappoint! Great location, incredible rate, and just the right size!!
Nothing to complain about.
Love the location. It's perfect for what we needed.
The walls on so thin that if you have neighbors you can pretty much hear everything!
The hotel is comfortable, clean and has a great story behind it. Great location.
The bar and kitchen staff, although serving up some great cocktails, has to pull it together. The level of hospitality doesn't live up to its price point. Management did step in and comp a few items. That was nice. Just needs to be organized better and the staff needs to learn a bit more about what it means to be hospitable.
The view fromn the balconies
Hav7ing to open gate to getvto the libby.
The clean rooms and comfortable beds were wonderful. I also loved the vintage photographs. There is a lovely patio that overlooks the pool area. It is a lovely place to sip on your morning coffee. I highly recommend this hotel. It is also reasonably priced.
I liked everything! I was there for a work party and felt it best to just stay the night and I'm very glad I did! Classic, timeless and very cozy!
The decor is very interesting with some real uniqueness. The pool sits in a courtyard that is pleasant and even more so with the lighting. The restaurant food was of good quality and the bar was interesting. The food is inventive and unique and the breakfast hearty and generous.
I was disappointed that the pool didn't seem to be heated. The restaurant service was very slow one evening, but the food was worth the wait.
The room was very big and nicely decorated. The bed was super comfy and the location was so conveniently located from all the main attractions of San Diego.
Broken ice machine? Pay for parking?
I loved the bunk beds, location was great close to everything, rooms were clean and comfortable. Great price. But we just had left a hotel that had a heated pool. The hotel says swim club in its name, the pool should be usable! Nope it was very cold. Pretty to look at, period.
Cool and unique ambience
Walls were too thin. The guy in the next room woke me up with his phone call and snoring.
I love the decor and the comfort of the suite. I love the location of the hotel because it's accessible to the areas and near my sisters home. All the employees are very friendly and prompt to help and assist in any situation. I like it very much here. I have stayed here on 2 occasions.
I think the toilet paper should be of better quality and the towels also tend to be a little on the rough side. The carpet seemed like it was not cleaned properly (our socks and feet turned black with a few steps). Housekeeping would vary during our stay. Some days very thorough, and others more on the less side. The restaurant serves great food, but it's a little bit pricey.
The staff was very friendly. However, there was nothing anyone could do about the wall heating unit that didn't work during an unusual cold spell in late December. The room was consistently between 64-66 degrees even after staff brought in a very small space heater and the bathroom was frigid. Historic hotels can be charming, but be aware that in southern California, old buildings seldom have contemporary heating/cooling systems.
Love it. It's a great place that's why I keep coming back to it.
I love it
It was a nice friendly atmosphere. The hotel is very close to many of the things San Diego has to offer such as the zoo and old town San Diego. We had a very pleasant stay.
changed room 3 times...1st room faced AC units, 2nd room didn't have internet signal...but once i got into the 3rd room i was happy
It looked spectacular at night with the lights set up. Cute and historic vibe. Room was very nice. The staff is BEYOND pleasant. The restaurant inside is delicious.
The TV was HD but the channels were not so the picture quality was poor. Showtime was advertised but not available in our room. The water from our sink smelled like sulfur. The bed was lumpy.
I liked the separation of the rooms in the suite. Made it easy for us to enjoy each others company while having a baby in the other room to sleep. I loved the look of the hotel. The staff was great!! So nice and helpful. Check-in was a breeze!
I didn't like that the tv's were really fuzzy. One room was crystal clear, the next room fuzzy town!
He was very polite & gave us information we needed to get around..
No complimentary breakfast.
Great staff, clean retro rooms with a really comfortable bed. Front desk staff was really nice.
Walking distance to variety of ethnic foods, bars-- superb Bloody Mary's across the street at Gilley's, the coffee house: Mystic Mocha
Didn't know to ask for a refrigerator ...
The hospitality and the marvelous southern environment . You feel like you are in the 50s !!! Lovely place really My wife and kids loved it
The location and the staff were very friendly.
My wife and I were trapped in the elevator for 45 minutes and that was not what we needed.....especially on the first night. We were told we would get a 25% discount on our stay, but, after I looked at our bill we were still charged for the full 3 nights. I plan on contacting someone from your company and file an official complaint. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay, but, we won't be back. Our friends will be advised and we have many that visit San Diego. Also our room was next to the play ground for children and they made a great deal of noise early in the morning plus there were children running up and down the aisles late at night.............close to midnight.
