Cool and unique ambience
Walls were too thin. The guy in the next room woke me up with his phone call and snoring.
I love the decor and the comfort of the suite. I love the location of the hotel because it's accessible to the areas and near my sisters home. All the employees are very friendly and prompt to help and assist in any situation. I like it very much here. I have stayed here on 2 occasions.
I think the toilet paper should be of better quality and the towels also tend to be a little on the rough side. The carpet seemed like it was not cleaned properly (our socks and feet turned black with a few steps). Housekeeping would vary during our stay. Some days very thorough, and others more on the less side. The restaurant serves great food, but it's a little bit pricey.
The staff was very friendly. However, there was nothing anyone could do about the wall heating unit that didn't work during an unusual cold spell in late December. The room was consistently between 64-66 degrees even after staff brought in a very small space heater and the bathroom was frigid. Historic hotels can be charming, but be aware that in southern California, old buildings seldom have contemporary heating/cooling systems.
Love it. It's a great place that's why I keep coming back to it.
I love it
It was a nice friendly atmosphere. The hotel is very close to many of the things San Diego has to offer such as the zoo and old town San Diego. We had a very pleasant stay.
changed room 3 times...1st room faced AC units, 2nd room didn't have internet signal...but once i got into the 3rd room i was happy
It looked spectacular at night with the lights set up. Cute and historic vibe. Room was very nice. The staff is BEYOND pleasant. The restaurant inside is delicious.
The TV was HD but the channels were not so the picture quality was poor. Showtime was advertised but not available in our room. The water from our sink smelled like sulfur. The bed was lumpy.
I liked the separation of the rooms in the suite. Made it easy for us to enjoy each others company while having a baby in the other room to sleep. I loved the look of the hotel. The staff was great!! So nice and helpful. Check-in was a breeze!
I didn't like that the tv's were really fuzzy. One room was crystal clear, the next room fuzzy town!
He was very polite & gave us information we needed to get around..
No complimentary breakfast.
Great staff, clean retro rooms with a really comfortable bed. Front desk staff was really nice.
Walking distance to variety of ethnic foods, bars-- superb Bloody Mary's across the street at Gilley's, the coffee house: Mystic Mocha
Didn't know to ask for a refrigerator ...
The hospitality and the marvelous southern environment . You feel like you are in the 50s !!! Lovely place really My wife and kids loved it
The location and the staff were very friendly.
My wife and I were trapped in the elevator for 45 minutes and that was not what we needed.....especially on the first night. We were told we would get a 25% discount on our stay, but, after I looked at our bill we were still charged for the full 3 nights. I plan on contacting someone from your company and file an official complaint. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay, but, we won't be back. Our friends will be advised and we have many that visit San Diego. Also our room was next to the play ground for children and they made a great deal of noise early in the morning plus there were children running up and down the aisles late at night.............close to midnight.
What's not to like? The staff, the property, the location...I love this place!
Poolside room very spacious - much nicer than rooms in main building Parking very handy except for Sat night
Poolside room noisy on Sat night due to Denver crowd for Chargers home game on Sunday Limited parking Sat night for same reason
Everyone was so helpful! Meme at the desk as well as everyone else, cleaning and maintenance. Cleanest laundry I have ever seen and used! The food and service was amazing! Michael the food and bev supervisor and his staff were the best. The coolest, retro hotel we have stayed at!!!
The location, bed, bathroom and closet.
The tv, room size.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our grandson was with us and he had his own room and bed and bath.
In the studio suite we had we could not connect to the wireless. Luckily the weather was warm and dry and we could go out poolside to connect. They could use a wireless booster in the back part of the hotel.
location, smell into the hotel.Cleaning hotel was at 11p.m.-worked vacuum too loud,I could not sleep,I made a remark on front desk, but guy just open wide eyes and said:It's ok,we're cleaning the hotel. But it was 11P.M.!!!Nobody did not apologized.
Great friendly people.
Nothing really not to like It is a beautiful old hotel.
cute boutiquey good bar and restaurant good pool
limited seating in room bathroom clean and simple but small and a bit dated neighborhood is okay but Lafayette is the nicest thing in the neighborhood
Excellent location, ample parking. Great security. Decent size rooms with 2 bathrooms. 2 bars/restaurants on site.
Kitchen needs a kettle as I don't drink coffee and there was just a coffee machine.
Kitchen facilities Dinette Beds Closets Towels, amenities Internet Pool, although we did not use it
No dishtowels or drainer Insufficient lighting in living room
Price. Location. Friendliness of staff.
Rooms are old and could use a little renovation. Size of rooms are on the small side. Airconditioning makes alot of noise. Bathroom had some issues with rust.
