paying for parking and for use of the pool
Great pool area to hang out at, food was good, staff was excellent. Fun time for a family or the 20 somethings.
Stylish hotel with the history and charming and relaxing atmosphere. Exelent pool and lobby.
The hotel needs to be renovated. The carpet in a room and the window was very dirty. Small room. We had one for 4 people, but it looked like only for 2, just two double beds in it.
A nice hotel with character and charm. However - the warmth, helpfulness and general jollyness of the staff make it a great place to stay! Tip: The big chain hotels should send their front desk teams to the Lafayette to learn about charm and customer care.
We stayed 4 nights but only used the swimming pool once - as the area never felt private or indeed at times accessible. On day 2, the hotel pool area was being used as venue for a couple of bands, which involved about 300 teenager/ youngsters attending the gig.
The pool The pool The pool
Try the breakfast it was cooked to order it was well presented and delicious. Well worth the money
The room didn't have a frig.
Loved the vintage decor!!
Olympic swimming pool
Having to leave
Loved the memorabilia and the pool/lobby area! The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The pool is really good. Great period feel to the hotel, very friendly desk staff and housekeeping. Nice restaurants nearby.
Pool parties at the weekend were noisy and made it difficult for guests to use the pool.
We really loved the accommodation which was spacious and well thought through. Our children loved having their own en-suite and blackboard and chalk! The hotel has an interesting past and the pool is centrally located with a fantastic view of it from the hotel patio. I also liked the sofas in a covered area by the swimming pool. They were a lovely place to relax at the end of the day. Lots of nice touches which made this hotel a special place to stay
One tiny criticism would be that the service in the restaurant on one of the evenings was quite slow (especially noticeable in USA where it is normally immediate!)
room, pool, vintage style
neighboring outdoor dining table could have been bused sooner; attracted flies
Poolside concert, awesome bartenders, actually all staff were great.
Food in restaurant good Nice pool Go for bungalows
Rooms looked dated and were very small in the mansion and didn't not look like in brochure Bathroom very small Walls thin- could hear a lot from neighbouring rooms.
Original retro style, free and secure indoor parking
Lack of continental breakfast
The look and feel of the overall establishment was warm and friendly.
That house keeping didn't speak English and didn't change our bed sheets, or take the trash out of my room.
Gorgeous pool and lovely decor. Secured and free parking. All amenities, large rooms...
Staff was efficient and friendly. Style of the hotel was fun and nostalgic.
My room view was of rooftops and AC units. The hotel sells day passes to the pool, so I had to fight non hotel guests for lounge chairs and sit with neighborhood folk that were not really paying hotel guests.
Absolutely excellent staff who just couldn't help enough. Fantastic pool area, especially if you are in an off-pool room of either type (ground level or balcony)
The lobby is beautiful, Staff was nice. Beds were comfy.
Seemed a little old, but had character. bathroom, airconditioner seemed outdated
The live music at the pool
The maids came much too late to clean.one day it was around 5pm
Great service. Clean. Pool is great, especially early in the morning when nobody is there.
staff was excellent! So many things to do inside the hotel, giant chess and checkers, old arcade games, great pool, and restaurant inside the hotel. Parking was in an included garage underneath the hotel. Room and bathroom felt very clean!
Walls were very thin, we could hear every conversation in the hallway and surrounding rooms.
The pool was nice for kids as well as the outdoor chess and checkers.
I traveled by public transportation. There wasn't a lot of places within walking distance. Kids thought room to snall.
everything. Is a prefect place to stay, not too big but with big rooms, super cozy bed, great pool, good ambiance. If you like boutique hotels, it is a very good example!!
