Poolside room very spacious - much nicer than rooms in main building Parking very handy except for Sat night
Poolside room noisy on Sat night due to Denver crowd for Chargers home game on Sunday Limited parking Sat night for same reason
Everyone was so helpful! Meme at the desk as well as everyone else, cleaning and maintenance. Cleanest laundry I have ever seen and used! The food and service was amazing! Michael the food and bev supervisor and his staff were the best. The coolest, retro hotel we have stayed at!!!
The location, bed, bathroom and closet.
The tv, room size.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our grandson was with us and he had his own room and bed and bath.
In the studio suite we had we could not connect to the wireless. Luckily the weather was warm and dry and we could go out poolside to connect. They could use a wireless booster in the back part of the hotel.
location, smell into the hotel.Cleaning hotel was at 11p.m.-worked vacuum too loud,I could not sleep,I made a remark on front desk, but guy just open wide eyes and said:It's ok,we're cleaning the hotel. But it was 11P.M.!!!Nobody did not apologized.
Great friendly people.
Nothing really not to like It is a beautiful old hotel.
cute boutiquey good bar and restaurant good pool
limited seating in room bathroom clean and simple but small and a bit dated neighborhood is okay but Lafayette is the nicest thing in the neighborhood
Excellent location, ample parking. Great security. Decent size rooms with 2 bathrooms. 2 bars/restaurants on site.
Kitchen needs a kettle as I don't drink coffee and there was just a coffee machine.
Kitchen facilities Dinette Beds Closets Towels, amenities Internet Pool, although we did not use it
No dishtowels or drainer Insufficient lighting in living room
Price. Location. Friendliness of staff.
Rooms are old and could use a little renovation. Size of rooms are on the small side. Airconditioning makes alot of noise. Bathroom had some issues with rust.
The giant chess game outside
Nice set up but lacked warmth, felt a little dirty
Pool, parking, staff willingness to accomadate.
Some rooms are close to the entertainment, loud centers. Specify quiet in request for room.
Perfect location for seeing San Diego, 30 minute drive was the longest we had and that was to las Americas outlets on the Mexican border, great friendly staff, lovely meals in the restaurant. The presentation and decor of the hotel was really nice.
The pool was really cold!!
The staff were very helpful. Plenty of towels! Love the white bed linens, including bedspread! I know that it has been laundered with a little bleach!
The pool water was FREEZING!!! The water in the ocean was warmer than their pool water! And no fridge! (Like to have fruit in my room, but not room temperature)
Large, well laid out room with tasteful decor. Pool is lovely; almost never see a lap pool in hotels. Restaurant is OK but only one other within walking distance (next door).
Neighborhood is marginal. Most people wouldn't walk it at night.
The staff was very friendly and competent. I loved the old feel of the place and that it's been kept the same.
Front Desk staff were fantastic Pool area is serene Shower had great water pressure
Beds and pillows too soft; need more parking spaces Needs a fridge
The decor, the staff and the gated parking garage.
All the flies inside the restaurant and on the restaurant patio. Worse I have ever seen. Also, no working ice machine on our floor.
Beautiful building. Loved the old Hollywood feel and decor. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Good location for our stay. Nice big room and easy to get to from parked car on the street.
Noise. Music played all the time that was too loud, very disturbing. Price of the room on Saturday night compared to the Thursday night price.
It waw pretty quiet.
The reasurant needs more options that are healthy food over priced for quality. Rooms do not have a way to hang your clothes, that was not good.
I loved everything about the Lafayette. From the moment we entered the gracious lobby and conservatory I knew I was going to have a great visit. The staff was friendly and courteous at all times. Our room was very comfortable. I loved starting the day by having my morning meal (from the nearby McDonalds) overlooking the pool. I would highly recommend it and look forward to a return visit.
My only regret was that our poolside suite was just one room shy of being on the pool side of the fence surrounding the pool. I would have loved to be able to open our french doors and sit at the table and chairs along the pool. Now that I know the layout I'll be certain to request it next time.
Liked our location of our room, the history of the place and enjoyed the music playing all night.
Cute hotel, nice pool, good restaurant, very accommodating staff
Bathroom has window but not a fan, had to carry luggage up 1/2 flight of stairs
Great value - especially the off-season prices, not a chain hotel, great history/special/unique, full-length pool, good restaurant/bar, convenient to airport, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, quiet inner rooms, quiet a-c, free parking, free morning coffee in the lobby.
Rooms facing El Cajon St. constantly have loud street noise - when the windows are closed it sounds like they're open. In-season there is often late-night pool or party noise (so it's best to get an inner room).
