Location was great, we were seeing a show so close for walking only one night.
Bed was uncomfortable for two grown adults, very noisy early in morning. Staff actually vacuum hall floor approx 4am??
Location is good if you are without a car which we were. It is in centre of Lahaina which is good but expect the noise that goes with being in the centre.
This Inn was built in the 30's and it seems it has the original furniture, which could be charming BUT.. The room was so bare and basic it reminded me of my days as a young traveller when we did Europe on $5 a day so many years ago! A bed pushed up against the wall making it difficult for two people to successfully sleep in it, an old fashioned wardrobe, a 30's kitchen chair, a side table, bare floor (a little sticky making us doubt it had been cleaned) and that's it! There was a lanai, but the chairs on it were so uncomfortable they made sitting in them impossible. The bathroom was sub standard, with crumbling original tile and a large hole in the ceiling where a new shower had been installed but not finished. The sheets had a black stain on them. There were no beach towels on the premises. The man at the desk cheerfully announced that they were in the "sister hotel" three miles away. As we didn't have a car, this was a problem for us. No one was on the desk between 7 p.m. and 11 a.m. If you needed help you had to call a phone number and the woman who answered wasn't helpful or even pleasant. When I asked if she had another room she told me they were "all the same", but this wasn't true. When I told her we were disappointed in the hotel, she said "This is an Inn NOT a hotel", so I guess that means be prepared to be uncomfortable. We were only there for two days and were grateful for that. I guess you get what you pay for, because it was cheap by Hawaiian standards. We would never come back to this Inn.
The sea view rooms were ridiculously tiny!!! The rear rooms overlook a carpark whereby very early every morning including Sunday - the leaf blower was going for hours and several garbage trucks noisily emptied rubbish!!
The reception nan fabulous so helpful, style of hotel sort of Victorian great balcony view of ocean
Bit mousy in morning as bins cleared not a hotel problem though
Location is good
there is not even a kettle in the room, floor is sticky. strong bleach smell when entered the room.
Good location to all activities around Lahaina waterfront and shops. Comfy bed. Very attractive old building.
Service and information was very poor. There were no staff at the reception after 7pm which we were not informed about prior. There was no access to the lobby or a telephone so we had to go next door and ask the restaurant to use their phone to contact the hotel. We then waited 30 mins before someone came to check us in from their partner resort. They have a 15 dollar a day parking fee. You can park overnight for 6 dollars directly opposite the hotel's parking spaces. This was also the only hotel on our trip around Hawaii without free WIFI.
Perfectly located in the center of Lahaina. Harbour, restaurants and Maui Outlet Shopping reachable by a short walk. The traditional 30's style of the place is amazing and gives a warm feeling. The "café café" next door serves excellent coffee and organic food.
The Queen Size bed was too small for us as a mature couple. Normally I'm used to a small coffee or tee supply in the hotel. The beach facilities are beautiful but take a 15 minute ride by car.
Location is excellent in the heart of the old town View from the balcony (ocean view room) was good.
Room is very small and cramped The blinds fell off the window, also had no way to adjust them, so the room was very dark. Very poor quality finishing in the room. The walls and windows were paper thing and you could hear EVERYTHING from everywhere all day and night. Directly outside the room delivery trucks and then bin trucks kept us awake from 0300 - 0700 DAILY! The room was not cleaned very well. Water is solar heated, so shower in daylight hours! Reception is only manned 11am - 7pm. The bed sloped towards the middle and was very small. Not much bigger than a single.
To be clear, we would stay here again. The location just off Front Street, with a (partial) view of the ocean from our rocking chairs on the wooden balcony, puts you within easy walking of everything to do in Lahaina. However, be aware that you can hear everything that is going on in Lahaina, including the Jimmy Buffet medley from the bar down the street.
Ten dollars a day for Wi-Fi? In this day and age?
The location was great and the Inn was very cute.
The first desk clerk was very rude, he couldn't care less if were checking in or not. However, the lady who was there for the rest of our stay was helpful and polite.
The hotel had a lot of character and reflected the history of that area,it was clean and centrally located.
No access to internet eventhough I followed the instructions. Suggest get rid of separate company provider.
The service was wonderful and the location was prime.
The bed was a little creaky, so I felt bad for my neighbors every time I got in and out of bed.
Great location, friendly concierge
Tiny room, poorly functioning plumbing
The location was really good, right in downtown. The Old-west style balcony was amazing, the perfect place to relax in the evening.
The room was small, and between the left side of the bed and the wall there was NO space at all.
Didn't get a lot of sleep ! Garbage trucks , street cleaners , delivery trucks , 5 am ! Pay for parking , wifi . Not a way to create repeat customers .
- nice location, center of town - Deluxe room recommended (spacious, nice atmosphere, nice view)
- very noisy in the early hours (garbage pickup just below our room)
Grest location and nice staff.
It had this awful smell all throughout. musty old smell.
really quaint Inn w old-style vintage feel. Hardwood floors, crystal door-knobs and uses actual key. Super awesome coffee house right next door and food places and main drag 1 minute walk away. Some had mentioned it was noisy but we found it very quiet. Very clean, well maintained. Staff super friendly when available. Right next to ocean. Would definitely stay there again.
When we arrived to check in there was no one at the desk; we waited 15-20min and then I finally called the front desk number and then someone came down from upstairs. This was at approx 3:30pm. One night we didn't have hot water but there is no staff at night so had to wait until the morning to address. Front door is locked at night so you better hang on to the code because again no staff on duty at night. The no staff issue was my only complaint.
Location and staff
Mattress' are sagging in middle
I have a broom closet that was larger than room. We only stayed a few hours since we had 11:30pm flight. We never thought room would be so small with 2 hangers and a small hook on wall.
Room size bed and room for 2 hangers
The location is perfect for who like staying in "downtown", near everything, but good beaches. You have to take a bus (15') to reach a very nice beach. Walking, I spent 1h30'. And there's a awesome coffee beside the hotel.
Awfully Noisy!!!!! The main thing you can expect from a hotel in a paradise like Maui is to be able to sleep and wake up at the time you want. In Lahaina Inn this simple wish is impossible. Early morning, everyday, at 6 a.m., the truck that collects the trash cans arrives with its particular noise; after, nearly 7 a.m., the parking behind the hotel begins to be cleaned, with some vaccum machines - this cleanliness lasts more than 1 hour; finally, to be still worse, in one nigth, the employees of the restaurant below the hotel hang out after work, in the same car parking, with drinks and loud speaking. It lasted long 2 or 3 hours, until midnight or 1 pm. I don't know if this "celebration" happens every week like the daily cleanliness of the parking, but... It was a nigthmare!!
Easy access to everything in Lahaina. Staff very helpful and nice, couldn't fault them. Although Reception is not always manned guests still have easy access to hotel. Great cafe next door which offers great breakfast (as hotel does not have a breakfast option) and free wi-fi.
Quite noisy and beds weren't great so I probably wouldn't stay here again. Fine for short period of stay.
The balcony over the buzz below and the beautiful western sunset lots of atmosphere and in th centre of things
The noise from the delivery trucks parked with engines running below at 7.00am !
The beach, the food the property.
