Bathrooms are really old and need to be renovated.
Nice common area, you meet a lot of other guests and have a nice time together.
clean, safe, good location, good wifi
Location is awesome
...one of the very rare places where you could smoke outside the house but in a comfortable atmosphere
Rained all day. Not your fault. Lol
Staff and clients were so friendly and helpful. No drugs, clean facilities, secure property and reasonably priced. I'll stay longer next time.
Tiny room for 6 beds, got quite hot in some parts, and a noisy AC if you're in that particular bed. Bathroom not that clean.
Basic, ok for a hostel, and the location is perfect. Lucky to have a bunch of nice and considerate people in the room (for 6), who sneaked in and out quietly, all at different times.
Refrigerator in room froze things while hot on outside, "fitted" bottom sheet wouldn't stay on mattress, minimal staff helpfulness, general need for sprucing up.
Patio, coffee, AC option.
The room was hot. The beds were not comfortable.
Location! The staff especially Ian and Martin
Crowded dorm and no lockers.
Price and location. Ability to socialize with other roofers.
Friendly staff, great location, and great price!
Total disgust. The shower has black mold in it. Smelled disgusting. Lifted up the mat and gobs of hair and feces in it! The toilets are filth. The paint on the floors is all chipped up. The cooking / kitchen is outside under push up tent. Cupboards are falling off. The staff stays up most nights and parties and screams until wee hours. It is GROSS.
The location is great. Other than that not much to say positive about this place. If you can't afford to go to Maui and stay at a resort, don't go.
The only negative side is about Lahaina itself, not the hostel. I was expecting a very quiet place but the town is very busy and the hostel is near a big road. The noise disturbed me in the first night but then I got use to it. Its a very nice hostel! Would definetely stay there again.
Great staff that makes you feel very comfortable. Guests were really cool too. The tours organized by the hostel are great!
Immed mosquito bites!
I couldn't stay..no bed! 74 yr old woman!
I'm a bit old school so the crazy parties on the weekend nights when I was trying to get some shut-eye was a bit annoying. They need to follow the rules of quiet hours between 10 pm and 10 am. I know other guests were a bit upset by all the noise at night.
I liked that I could get an inexpensive bed to sleep in at night while spending time at the beach and conferences in Kaalapali. The other hotels are so over priced and over rated that I found the hostel community living was a great alternative. People were warm and friendly which improved my stay there.
This place is disgusting. Wish I could post pictures on this site. Share two showers and toilets with about 30 people, all coed. The shower is full of mold and under the shower mat is gobs of hair balls. The toilet paint is almost gone. The paint on the floor is missing in many sections. The outdoor cooking facility's so called cupboards are falling off. Didn't get one nights solid sleep in a week, all night parties, doors slamming. Don't do it to yourself its a total nightmare.
The people that work here are very sweet with the exception of Martin, the property manager.
can't think of anything
The staff are excellent, friendly, helpful and a lot a fun. They keep the place clean and the outside kitchen is great given the warm temperature. They put on a free dinner and dance for new years! Awesome place
Perfect atmosphere! Really liked the garden!
- very small room - quite old house condition, making showers and restrooms seem dirty - close to native, means you may find some ants in your room
+ Good location, 2 min walk to sea and 5 min walk to grocery + Staffs make many different tours almost everyday + Kitchen area is good
Everything is very dirty (rooms with bugs, the kitchen is just disgusting, toilets are....don't have a name for that...yuk! There is only a common space outdoors, so, if it rains....there is no place to go. There are rules that nobody follows. People smoke in the common area, music is very loud all day long, quiet hours are not respected at all, some workers live there and they ignore you in the dorm and act like if they were at home and you were invisible (speaking on the cell at 5:00a.m, just an example of manyI could give).there are two dorms right next to the backyard and it is like you were sleeping in the middle of a disco bar. On Christmas Eve they had a party until 4:00a.m, music super loud, the washroom full of people drunk who had joined the party but were not at the hostel. I complained and the answer was that they were celebrating Christmas Day. This is the worst and most disrespectful hostel I have ever been to. I would not recommended it and I would never go back there. If you are fine with filthy, noise, music and party, then, this is the place for you to crash when you are in Maui. Good luck to you!
The workers were nice and helpful and tried to accommodate to your needs. The location is excellent whether you drive or not. There are day trips from the hostel that you can join for free. Very friendly and welcoming environment.
for me I would say not being able to stay longer in Lahaina.
Spent Halloween 2014 in Lahaina and found that Last Resort was so close to Front Street which made it so much easier to get to and from Front St. throughout the evening. It made it so convenient to get on the Lanai Ferry the next morning to head over to the Island of Lana`i.
not clean, cheap matress, thin walls, the main common area was noisey after posted times and also noisey early morning the cleaning fee is a rip off because the place is not clean!
great location for a night or two
Create a space where we can meet with our local friends! My brother who lives in Maui was chased away by the manager while I was fixing him a tea and was told to go to a local bar to visit. I was embarrassed and my brother was insulted.
Filthy disgusting bedbug infested moldy gross and for what you get, its way too much money. Never again.
Location close into Lahaina Town.
