We visited Tea island resort the last week of 2014 season. The staff were very friendly and as we were visiting from UK we need to borrow a hair dryer and bottle opener. We also asked for washing up liquid which was provided. Excellent location, close to Lake George Village and nice to have canoes, pedalos for visitors to use.
We didnt realise that Lake George is a seasonal resort so were quite shocked when we realised that Monday to Wednesday most shops, restaurants were closed. We did find Duffys Bar open and they are definitely well worth visiting. If you plan a Fall visit form UK bear this in mind. However on the plus side the leaves and fall colours were spectacular
Nice view on the lake
Very touristic area. You could hear the neighbours as if they were in the same room.
comfy, clean room. Used the kayaks and paddleboards, which is nice since they are free and the part of the lake is pretty calm. The fire pit down by the lake is awesome
Everything was comfortable. The location was incredible with amazing views and free kayaks and canoes. The beds were great. The staff was really nice.
It's in need of a few updates, carpeting a bit shabby and the bathroom is kinda old.
on the lake clean nice staff
liked every thing
While small, the resort was much better then I expected. There was only one other couple staying there at the time, and I'm sure things might get a little crowded when it is full, but it has a lot to do. I usually stay at another, larger resort. But Tea Island had everything to offer that the other did. Besides a pool. They had lots of things to use on the water from paddleboats to paddleboards. Had a great hot tub (when it was on), though small. And had a great beach, though once again small. Close to the village, but far enough away to be quiet. Also only a short, scenic drive to Bolton Landing if you'd like to avoid the village tourist trap. There is a deli a few minutes up the road with things you might need. And it is close to I87. Rooms were up to date and looked new, compared to many other local motels/resorts. Had a nice little park for kids, and had badmitten, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. Lots to do at the resort.
Hot tub was turned off the afternoon of the first day and closed at 9. Should be open till atleast 10 or 11 like any other resort. Kind of a steep walk up from the beach but they can't help that. The "arcade" is just an old pinball machine and another old machine.
Very close to Lake George village. Very close to the 87. Beautiful trees.
The photos of the rooms that appear in the booking.com site are deceiving The actual room is far different from the photos. Balconies face the parking lot and view of the lake is sideways in some rooms. Staff was indifferent. Moldy bathroom tub. The carpet was worn. The room smelled cigarette smoke. Room was not cleaned after the first night of sleep. There was a coffee machine but coffee was not supplied. Noise from street traffic. The wifi was weak or nonexistent at times.
View and being lakeside
Older facility. Maintenance needed.
Location and price
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location is good - right on the lake and close to the village.
The room was cramped, and the love seat and carpeting were very worn. Also, there was no drawer space if we had wanted to unpack our suitcases. It was adequate for a weekend, but I wouldn't want to stay for a week. However, we didn't see any other rooms, so I can only speak for the "queen bed with kitchenette" option.
Location in regards to Lake George was great. Easy access to town or freeway. Staff were very friendly and helpful. View from balcony is stunning.
Some of the ammenities are looking a bit tired. Broken chairs at the beach, partially broken handle for hot tub lid, shufflebord pad is growing grass in it.
Although the bathroom was a bit dated I can't stress enough how clean everything was! No funky smells or stains on anything. Staff was very friendly and willing to please. And we were able to see the fireworks from the dock.
I was disappointed that the only window that opened was in the bathroom. I'm used to sleeping with an open window. The layout was a bit odd and therefore we had to sleep with the A/C on all night.
Small but everything you need. Less crowded than most resorts. Great views of lake.
Hot tub and game room too small and unappealing.
Beach access and boat/canoe usage View of the lake Playground for kids Trolley to downtown Distance to town
Rooms were slightly noisy, we could sometimes hear people next to us and could hear all the walking around above us Wifi was really slow and difficult to connect to
Excellent customer service. Joanne was wonderful!!!
-Location by the lake with private beach -Could barbecue everyday -Very responsive staff and owner
bathroom need some updating.
The private beach was nice and relaxing
Poor maintenance and the dated furniture.
For some reason we were upgraded to the 3bedroom house. As we were only 2 people we were quite surprised . The house was immaculate looking almost brand new(although it was not) the bed was so comfortable. I will plan on returning, booking the same house but bringing along some friends!
Although not a problem for us, there is a bit of a slope to the beach so if you have toddlers who do not sit still you nys get quit a workout chasing them up the little hill:)
beach, availability of watercraft, view.
I loved we were on the lake and it was family orientated . They need to get the rugs out of the rooms and just put tile floors down the rugs were very dirty even though housekeeping did a great job on trying to keep the rest of the room nice owns need to really get rug out..
This was our first trip to Lake George - which is a best kept secret destination because it is a place where you can relax by the lake (rural & relaxing feel to it) - yet - at the same time - you can enjoy the festivities downtown (urban & exciting feel to it)... Tea Island Resort may be the best kept secret as far as a place to stay in this area... You won't be paying as high a price as some other options in the area - but the location is ideal - a great value considering its lakeside location and proximity to downtown which is easily accessible by trolley... Appreciated that the owners were welcoming to families here and the use of their private beach, paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, grill, and the list goes on and on... You essentially get the best of both worlds staying here and it was everything we thought it would be!!!
the outside facilities were great
the place was musty and the room was very dark- carpet was pretty gross
Really liked the beautiful setting right in the lake and close location to Lake George Village!
Bathroom could use an update.
