Seeing the park and lake next door to facility.
There is a very small parking lot. They held funds on my cc for 4 days, even tho I paid cash :( Does NOT cope to Shearwater or Schooners Cove at the coast. Same hotel chain, Lakeshore was a let down.
Nice, well-kept place with fair-sized rooms. Looks to have been recently updated.
Wifi service very spotty. Or would work for a bit, then be off for an hour. I heard other guests complain about it, too. Not reliable.
Not being able to enjoy the neighborhood
The entire experience was excellent. We have stayed there before and looked forward to the same great experience.
What's not to like
the view was lovely and the location is just great. We were able to walk to Starbuck's and we could see all the holiday lights from our balcony.
The people above us were really noisy, kids jumping and running and dogs barking! Lucky for us, they were only there 1 night! Ask for the 4th floor.
convenient to my location.
photo shows off hotel better than actually is..
The service when we arrived late (around midnight) was very professional, helpful and polite. The room was very clean and I was please with the bed and setting. I am a huge comforter and pillow snob... but I felt very cozy on such a cold day in our bed!
My only complaint would be that we could hear the people walking above us, so it felt a little more like an apartment complex rather than a hotel. I will say that I think the pricing is fair (We paid $89 + tax), but that is my only critique. Even though hotel/motels are used by many people, it is nice to have the illusion of feeling "secluded" in your room. Minor critique... Thanks!
So close to everything Lake Oswego has to offer.
Families should be located on lower floors and couples above since it's a wood construction and noisy.
I liked everything except for the T.V. control which I found confusing. The very nice front desk lady came to my room to show me how to use it. Silly me.
Location and friendly staff. Very attentive.
Wifi was not working. I did not pursue it with the office because I had another option.
The train at night.
Up to date room
hotel was clean staff was friendly.
Breakfast very small: a few pastries and a stale croissant. Not impressed.
Loved everything about this property including the wonderful restaurants and shops within walking distance.
I used to live just around the corner from here, so I love being right on the lake. The balconies allow you to see the boats and the ducks, or even the farmers market if it is a weekend. The staff was very friendly, and when I did have an appt I was happy to go for a walk or chill on the balcony.
I was next to the ice machine, and the noisy area, so could hear conversation clearly thru walls. I mentioned this to staff so they will upgrade me next time. I thought that was a nice touch.
My only suggestion is add shelf in bathroom for toiletries.
Loved the balcony with great view of lake. Confused by the large step out of the room onto the balcony. It makes it awkward. We figured it could be to keep water out of the room from the exposed balcony. Staff was so helpful when I was looking for a restaurant and a better way out of town. The front desk staff printed me MapQuest directions to take with me.
When I went to sleep I wanted the overhead fan but not the overhead light. Could not figure out the remote as it is not labeled. I called front desk and he had no idea. I decided to open high window but to get airflow, I was stuck with outside light in stairwell. A morning check with front desk told me how to use the remote. Simple really but messed up my night's sleep. I was disappointed that the fridge did not have a freezer as I bought more ice cream than I could eat. The shampoo dispenser would not dispense shampoo (room 35).
This is a small motel/hotel on the shores of Lake Oswego, a quiet, somewhat affluent community just outside of Portland. Now the motel / hotel is not 'The Ritz' but for the price (even for labor day weekend) and location it was a really good. While it is an older and unique property (70s ish and actually built on the lake) it was refurbished and clean. The queen suite I had was on the lake and it was really better than I expected based on what I saw in the pictures (wall AC, kitchen... actually the wall AC was new and very quiet and efficient and the kitchen was refurbished, as well). The suite was decorated in kind of lake cabin motif using basic durable materials but it was cheerful. Everything seemed new and even the bathroom was refurbished and nice and kept up. The bedroom itself was not on the lake and uniquely detached from the adjoining other suite. The hotel is short walking distance to restaurants and a grocery store and 'the required' Starbucks! The 'lake' itself is very small (really the end of a canal channel) but populated with nice homes. The families with kids seemed to be separated from this part of the hotel so I was thankful of that as it may have made the stay much louder. As a traveling I.T. consultant, I have stayed at hundreds of hotels in the last 25 years and I really liked this and I would not have posted this review if I did not.
The Elevator has some mold issues and the smell is bad but it is seperate from the main structure I could hear the person upstairs loudly unpacking and running around but otherwise quiet. The parking lot was small but I was OK with it...there is a large parking garage close by too. The wifi was not working very well but it was labor day and the staff at the time were not technical.
location for our trip plans - the lake- the ducks - the town - the service, no question went unanswered
Next to lake, centrally located.
One of the staff was rude. Terrible perfume in the room. Too expensive for the quality of the room. Charged more then promised by booking. Room on street side was noisy.
View of the lake and proximity to restaurants and other ammenities.
> Air conditioning droned on all night and I couldn't adjust it away from blowing directly on me. > The train whistle at 1:30 a.m. > No fitness center. Had to pay $15 bucks up the street.
There was no parking. So many people on the lake and a small parking lot. The building was old and not updated.
The bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and quick to respond to any issue.
When we got home there was a message from them that there was a dog in our room. We don't own a dog and certainly didn't have one in our room.
