It was lovely. I wouldn't go to NOLA for a modern experience. I wanted to feel the way it was--and I did.
the rooms really need a refrigerator
-The staff was very friendly & helpful -Pool hours were extended -Very clean room & comfy bed -Aveda bath products were a plus -Beautiful, old decor that was such a charm
-Smelled like old basement & cleaning products; getting a glade plug-in should be a must for at least the main lobby -Wished there were beverage vending machines on-site
Location Pool Rooms Staff
My friends had stayed there many times before and I plan to return as soon as I can. The staff was extreamly helpful in pointing out local cafés and hang outs. Walking distance from what we went to New Orleans for...
Some construction noise in he afternoon but was understandable for the off season and a 200 year old building needs that from time to time...
Wonderful historic property. Completely updated. Comfortable beds, flat screen TV, excellent bathroom facilities, excellent AC, everything was great.
The pool was "shocked" the day before we arrived, and it was never open during our fairly short stay.
Amazing staff. We nicknamed the room our own private quarters. The carriage house, behind the main house was authentically New Orleans. After a long day walking the quarter with hundreds of tourists in the heat, retreating to Lamothe House was indeed a gift. Absolutely loved the icy AC! The bed trapped us and we ended up staying another day at the end of our trip. We would definitely stay here again. Close enough to the quarter but far away from the madness. Off street parking lot available without valet and inflated prices. If you want the native experience, you must stay here!
Staff, ambiance, location, coffee/tea selection
No openable window in our room.
The bed and pillows were tremendously comfortable. Liked being close to restaurants and bars while in a quaint, quiet residential area.
The room was blah. Although the room was huge, only one hard-back chair and a super skinny closet (ironing board width). No place to put items, no place to sit. No room in bathroom. Would not stay here for longer than one night.
Jonathon and Renee were friendly, helpful and went the extra mile to accommodate us. It is obvious they both enjoy their jobs and have passion for the city. We stayed during Jazzfest and our original place to stay fell through at the last minute. We were soooooo excited to find Lamothe. It was located exactly where we wanted to be and was comfy and historic NOLA style. The house keeping staff also went out of there way to be helpful. My boyfriend needed a pair of shorts washed and she made it happen. ALL THE HOUSEKEEPING STAFF WERE AMAZING. The beds and bedding were almost as comfy as home. The parking lot was close, safe and easily accessible. We stayed in three different rooms because of our last minute booking situation and found all three rooms clean, comfortable and charming. The suite was definitely the favorite! We really enjoyed sitting on the big, breezy porch and people watch. We met our fun neighbors and felt like we LIVED in the Marigny!
There honestly wasn't much to not like. The televisions were very old and there weren't many channels to chose from. Also, the outdoor furniture was a little outdated and uncomfortable. The headboards should maybe be secured to the wall, for noise level control. It would have been nice if we were able to close the doors in the suite- to maybe section off the two rooms if necessary.

My wife and I loved the location
Location was great! We were close to everything in the french quarter while being just far enough away to escape it. We also loved the Jazz night music that played us to sleep every night from Frenchmen St. a block behind the hotel. Staff rocked and was super helpful with advice and directions. This place is awesome!!
The only real issue was that the wifi was in-and-out most of the time we tried to use it. That said, we were not in the room a ton to try wifi, so it was not a really big issue.
I loved the character of this beautiful home.
Staff is exceptionally accommodating and very well acquainted with the local flair. They honestly go out of their way to help you find everything the city can offer no matter how trivial the request. Each one has a unique quality that makes you feel safe and "at home". Wonderful to have such good coffee in a room. Great location to walk to all the "happenings".
Walls are thin owing to traditional architecture and noises travel easily.
The stay over all was great, it was clean, centrally located, and comfortable.
In my opinion it was a bit pricey for the size od the room, and the fact that it was just a regular weekend not durring a big event.
The staff helped me with a problem, and made it easier in a difficult situation.
Door was too close to the bed, in room 210.
The best Customer Service, Thanks Rene!!
location was outstanding and good value! loved the quaintness!
run down patio area and plantings room not as clean as should be, dirty bathroom mirror and sink
The room was nice and the bathroom was a nice size. Perfect for the two of us. The staff was friendly and helpful.
There was a dead cockroach in the bathroom.
The staff is very friendly and the location is perfect for walk around the french quarter.
In the room you can hear the conversations of the neighbors, during our stay one couple discussed heavily at 5 in the morning. It was unpleasant.
thin walls, loud neighbors
Very clean room, good central location
Reception is located upstairs, so you have to bring your suitcase up and then back down again to go to your room. Bedrooms are noisy and the bathroom is VERY small, there is no where to put anything. The bedrooms are also small and there is no safe. It can get very cold in the night time so you have to leave the heater on, which can be a bit loud.
Atmosphere of the place.
Last time we were there parking was free. This time $20.00 per night. A bit steep, in my opinion;
