The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to Union Square and Cable Car. The complimentary continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise and although other things could have been added, such as cereals, rolls and preserves, it was more than adequate for our needs. Free use of Internet to confirm our outboard flight. The hotel represented excellent value for money. We would definitely stay there again. Unfortunely we were not able to partake of the free wine tasting because we were out all day sightseeing. Our room was more than adequate although the bathroom was somewahat small even by european standards. The room was at the back (or the side) of the hotel which meant that we were overlooking a space between other buildings which was unkempt and overgrown, we were told that it would be quieter because it was away from the busy street noises. No problems though, it did not detract from our stay. |

the staff were fabulous. it's proximity to union square and everything the area offers. the breakfast was dismal. no jam for the croissants. a couple mornings the offerings were stale. the rooms are small but i guess that's not too bad!! |

The ambience and staff were first rate - a true pleasure. Loved the wine tasting, the free brekkie and great value for money. Will definitely stay again! Great location and felt like a family run business - will definitely recommend to everyone! |

Excellent location! All the interesting sites are very close to the hotel. Be carefull: they gave me internet passford without any notification. My big mistake wsa that I didn't ask about price and thought it's for free (as in many other hotels around the world!!) but they charged me 98!!$ fix paiment per day at check-out date!!!! Be very carefull. |

convenience to shopping. The bathroom in room 202 was VERY SMALL. I am a small woman and my husband is an average size man and it was difficult to move in that bathroom! We wondered how anyone larger than us could move in that bathroom. There was no night table next to the bed on one side. |

The room was very comfortable and the large flat screen was especially nice. Additionally, the hotel had a charming "european" feel to it that was a nice change from corporate chain hotels. |

The staff was really great. We felt welcome at the Larkspur and the hotel had a nice old fashioned theme. The room we stayed in was smaller than we would prefer and the breakfast was not very satisfying. |

The room i had was bit small and the bathroom was very small, they use very nice toiletry the bed are very comfortable, for the price i payed it was excellent for the location. the hotel staff Edward and Tony was very friendly and helpful. the extra complimentary drink and continental breakfast was a plus. It would be nice to have a bigger room by american standard. the walk-in closet was far too big, it bit waste of space. |

Excellent location close to Union Square, just steps from a cable car stop. Friendly, professional staff. Clean, comfortable (though rather small) rooms. Extremely comfortable bed. I would certainly return should the opportunity present itself. The hotel is in an older, though well-kept building, located in an urban area, so some street noise was to be expected. Floors are served by only one elevator. We knew all of this going in so there were no surprises. |

The staff were extremely helpful and competent. They were also genuinely friendly. The location is fantastic. Great value for money. The breakfast food was below average. Fresh rolls would help. However, it was such good value for money, I think this a minor point. |

We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful during our short stay. The hotel is just one block away from Union Square and the Powell Street cable car goes just past it. In addition, we had a really good price. |

The staff was great, so friendly and helpful! I can't stress that enough! They were awesome! We were so glad to find this hotel after a horrible experience at another hotel. Breakfast was good as well. The central location is really a great addition. Had great sleeps as well! |

The position near Union Square and BART is its strong point. Rooms are stylish, with an early 20th century look, kind of romantic. Personnel very friendly and helpful, free wi-fi and nice lounge. Our room in the back was very silent, and very soft bed. Wonderful place to stay. Our room was definitely small for American standards, rather in line with European standards for hotels of this category. American travelers, be warned :-). Overall I would recommend this hotel also to Americans notwithstanding the small room size. |

Clean hotel right in the center of San Francisco, cable car next door, complementary Internet (average speed), a lot of things are walk distance. Effective staff. If your a light sleeper, it's in the center of SF, so city sounds are applicable. |
