Clean, quiet and convenient to my meeting, shopping and restaurants Super small restroom with inadequate water pressure. Room was categorized as "deluxe" but did not really live up to expectations.

The last question was ridiculous. Location was very good, for if you wanted shopping, good for access to trams. Nice foyer. Old , limited tea/coffee facilities in room. Very Noisy all night. We followed a recommendation in a newspaper back home but would probably look around at other options next time if coming to San Francisco as getting the smallest of rooms, old, but a fair/ good attempt at decor, and cupboard size, tiny bathroom facilities and only a double bed for the cost was less than we normally expect and we have travelled a lot and have a reasonable take on what to expect for the price.Bathroom products very nice. Room size was tiny for the cost. Hotel did not appear full but from plan had the smallest room in the floor. Even placed on floor 7 , closer to the back was noisy due to vacant block next door. Did not sleep well, noisy all night. No breakfast options and no advice in the room we found. Only powder creamer for coffee and limited tea options in an old drip coffee maker. When female concierge was asked by a guest checking in if her room near the back , on 8th floor was quiet she answered "yes". Not our experience, given similar location and in our opinion was misleading to the guest.

knowledge, friendliness of the staff. location of the hotel. thin walls. could hear the slightest noise coming from our neighbor's room. could hear clearly conversations that were being had. luckily we had less noisy neighbors... probably wouldn't have been an issue had the connecting doors been sound-proof. would not recommend this hotel just based on this. otherwise, everything else was great.

The staff was terrible!! Sooo slow and extremely unhelpful. It was depressing dealing with them. Also could provide no information about restaurants. Management needs to do reviews on the staff. The only helpful person was a maid.

Staff was friendly and location good. I was very dissapointed. The walls were paper thin. The bathroom was tiny. The pictures on the web page were very misleading. Definately not worth the money spent.

The Hotel has easy access from Union Square. The staff was very nice and helpful. Visually pleasant hotel. Room we had was small, a little on rundown side, but for the price and location was expectable.

Staff was very accommodating and friendly. They responded quickly to all of my requests. It was centrally located with transportation nearby for any direction we wanted to go. Charming hotel. The only suggestion I would make would be to get a room that wasn't on the street side. It was loud at night, but that's the nature of a city. If you want quiet, go to the countryside.

Many thanks espacially to Janell Dirksen (Front Office Manager Larkspur Hotel) for her nice mails in advance of our stay. She was very helpful in finding the most scenic route from Monterey to San Francisco (furthermore she has sent us a separate email from MapQuest with the directions and a map for your drive). Dear Janell, thank you very much. I was a special pleasure beeing your guestes. We enjoyed our stay in San Francisco very much! Unfortunatelly the window you our bathroom was unable to close tightly. So it was sometimes coolish in the bathroom. But we shutted the door and took a hot shower, so it was able to deal with the coolness.

The staff was excellent. Very well trained, knowlegable, accomidating individuals. The rooms were very modern given the age of the hotel. They were comfortable and clean. Very quiet for the most part. There wasn't an ice machine. We had to ask the front desk for ice. They were very quick bringing it to us but it would have been muck easier to get it ourselves.

We appreciated most the good location, reasonable price and friendly, accommodating staff. While the rooms and bath are small, typical for the era in which the building was built, the charming architecture and high- end decor gave them a feeling of luxury. Good design in both room and bath makes optimum use of every inch of space. A walk-in closet affords much needed (and appreciated) storage, allowing the bedroom to remain organized and zen-like. We spent 4 very comfortable nights here. I have no problem with lack of breakfast service - plenty of choices near- by; but I really would have liked morning tea and coffee service offered in the lobby. Room had a small 2-cup coffeemaker but I much prefer a porcelain mug and fresh half-and-half.

Just had a great feel - old, charming, economical, clean, location, staff. The only thing I was disappointed with was the fact that there were no fitness facilities in the hotel, you had to pay $15 to use a facility down the street (mind you it was a great facility). But it's a pretty minor point

Very friendly staff. My room was totally inadequate. The bathroom is way too small, the beds are uncomfortable, the room badly needs painting, substandard all the way around. If felt the place was just plain dirty. It needs a re-do. No amenities at all that one comes to expect in a hotel that charges >$200/night.
