Great welcome and check in from front desk. Great coffee. Comfortable stay.
Walls were thin. Room way overpriced but city was packed due to large conference.
Tired hotel that has seen better days and needs renovating
Comfortable bed. Good shower, the room was small but well appointed. What was outstanding was the friendly and knowledgable staff. From the from desk right through to the cleaners. The hotel is old but still works well. We owned and operated our own hospitality business and know where to look. This team are getting it right at a good price.
Nothing complain about
+ friendly stuff + clean rooms + great location (near Union Square)
- pretty small room
Location, price, cleanliness. The staff is very friendly, always smiling. It felt good to be there.
The hotel is very close to Union Square - the location is just awesome!! The staff is very friendly and helpful at all times we asked for help. Special thanks to Mr. Ed Flores and to concierge Tony, who gave us great tips about San Francisco.
The hotel is clean and comfortable, but needs some renovation.
Great place in a outstanding location! Staff was very friendly and helpful with everything we asked for. The room was pretty good, we had a suite and it was great for oir honeymoon!!
Windows are not noise proof so you can hear the buses and trash truck every night. SFFD is also working every night since we had always that noise in the room!!
Great location Comfy bed
Amazing and helpful staff that's what made the difference, the human element. Location was plus point. The hotel was petit and just perfect, good value for money.
Internet connection was unstable at times.
Headboards were once leather or maybe pleather, but completely worn down to the padding. I am not a hotel snob but it was gross. Plus we booked a queen and got two twins.
Easy walk to union square, handy to everything, and really just a nice comfortable room
Could do with offering tea in the room rather than just coffee..
Proximity to the center Pets stay free with treats
Old world charm Location - in city centre Discount for Lori's Diner, a couple of doors up (well worth a visit, especially if you're not from the USA
Expensive for what you get Plumbing problems when I stayed - I was reimbursed a small amount off the bill
My wife as I just visited sf for 3 days but enjoyed our time thoroughly! The hotel is located in a very nice area close to the historical cable cars and close to a lot of shopping as well as other public transportation. It is also located walking distance to other nice places if interest in San Francisco. I'm glad we did not stay close to Fisherman's Wharf since it's way too touristy and crowded there and not to mention, even more expensive there! The hotel staff knows how to keep the rooms very clean and tidy. I was originally concerned with the size of the room because I read reviews that the rooms are small but there was plenty of space to relax and enjoy. Also, having wifi helped!
There wasn't a whole lot I did not like. I wish there were bigger cups for coffee? I wish the hotel was slightly less expensive. But overall, I thought Hotel Cartwright gave us a great experience in sf!
LOCATION! Shops - Restaurants - Convenience of Walgreens & 7/11 Free parking
ambiance was great and the location was reasonable for travel to union square or SOMA
The room itself was tiny. There were no on premise food or drink options, everything had to be ordered from a 24 hour diner around the corner.
Nicely restored hotel from 1890s. Very friendly staff. The décor. The location couldn't be any better and it was fairly priced
Location and staff excellent
Rooms very small
Staff was really good, Kevin is a fantastic guy. Close to shopping malls and touristic places.
A lovely hotel with San Francisco charm and style, incredibly convenient location, clean, lovely staff and a very helpful young man at concierge , so much more charm than your large chain hotels.
Rooms are not huge but this is consistent with the small boutique style hotel,
Staff was very attentive. Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Nice having 2 TVs. Bathroom was nice large size. I would definitely stay again.
The hotel is centrally located, within walking distance of major restaurants and bars. Trolly cars right in front of hotel!
Rooms are small, but should be expected from a 100 year old hotel.
very convenient location, friendly staff, quiet and comfortable room
Cleanliness and stuff. Amazing!
The breakfast was not included.
