Right in San Francisco city center for less than half the price of nearby hotels only a few doors away. Staff were very helpful & friendly!
a great location in downtown S.F, close to everything, next to cafe, drugstore and restaurants. Nice small hotel with sitting area in the lobby and bar. Room and bathroom are not big but has everything you need, good water pressure. Had corner room with two windows, that's wonderful. Very helpful staff, especially thanks to Kevin and an asian Lady in the morning. I am sure we will be back.
not at all
Our room had a fire escape, making it easier to smoke. Free morning papers. The lobby looks amazing.
7th floor with only one elavator.
The old style hotel of the past. It has class of its own. It gave a warm feeling.
Coffee maker in room
Bed was too soft probably needs to be replaced
Location, boutique , friendly staff
Noisey, room was hot but couldn't leave window open due to noise.
Top expensive . Nicer hotels nearby cost less and didn't like location of room . Too noisy and right besides stairwAy .
I checked in really late but they checked me out early without my notification even though I had 12 pm Check out time . I They checked me out 6am . Not worth the value
The staff were friendly. Check in and check out went smoothly. The rooms were a bit small but it wasn't unbearable. Great location, very close to Union Square.
There was only one lift!
Great staff and location and good price!
the lobby is lovely, warm, like a home. in the room, furnitures looks like antique, while applyings are new and comfortable！
bathroom looks like it was built in the 18th century.
I was able to get a really good rate. I've stayed at this hotel before and if the price is right it's great.
They don't have coffee in the morning anymore. Maybe because there's a Starbuck's across the street?
The staff were so friendly and helpful, from check in through check out and the location was amazing - an easy walk to virtually everywhere from Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf and everything in between.
The room was very hot, even though we turned the heating off completely in the room, and it was also very noisy and needed air plugs for sleeping.
The location is the best feature of this hotel. It is located at the heart of the Union Square and has easy access to sights by cable cars. The hotel beds are very comfortable and housekeeping staff and some front desk staff are very friendly. I have very good time staying at the hotel and only wished that I could have stayed for 5 days instead of 4 days.
I have not found anything that I do not like.
Rooms could have small fridges
I loved how accommodating the staff was. They are all very polite and it feels very homey when you walk inside. I love how close the hotel is to Union Square, like literally a 5 minute, walk if that. They have a cute little fireplace area and complimentary tea and coffee in the mornings. The diner down the block also delivers to the hotel and it gets attached to your bill, very convenient. The bathrooms are so cute to me! Very old fashioned and clean. I enjoyed the green tea scented soaps/shampoos/conditioners. Overall, it is a nice affordable hotel right in the heart of the city. The location is nice, I may consider staying again.
The room we got was okay, we did not have heat (which is a must for San Fran winters) and we had to ask three times before we got a space heater. There was an incident where they "misplaced" my car. Apparently, when they switched out valets they don't communicate with each other before doing so... I was quite upset with that. I wasn't quite sure if we used the wifi or not, but I think we had some issues connecting to it. They should modernize the rooms just a tad bit.
Great location. Good facilities. Value for money
The bed is really small (2 single beds). Parking is a bit expensive. But hey, it‘s SF
+ Hotel staff is very kind and helpful + Rooms are very spacious + It is really near a lot of important place (Japan center, china town, union square, etc.)
The unfortunate part is that the hotel does not have breakfast services. I knew it so no surprise. The good point is that the staff gives you 20% reduction for Lori's diner. However, I found a little bit painful to go outside early in the morning to take a breakfast, especially because weather was rainy and cold. Moreover, I prefered tha "cable car cafe" located near the hotel on Grand Avenue
Wonderful location, great value for money
Walls very relatively thin, so it was a bit noisy
I had a good experience, nice room and bathroom, and the location was awesome!
We weren't able to turn off the heat in the room, so we had to have the windows wide open all night
Central location.Walking distance to union sq,bart station,24 hrs supermarket, and more. Value for money and spacious room.
Stayed for 5 nights and asked a favor to store my luggage for 4 days but they couldnt accomodate my request due to hotel rules. However, they directed me to the opposite hotel,Chancellor..the front office and bell man were very kind and polite.Would like to stay at Chancellor for my next stay in SF.
Location is great, convinent for every direction and almost all sight points. The staffs are professional.
The equipments are little old, though still good for use.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was an excellent value. The hotel is adjacent to many restaurants, shops, convenience stores etc. Everything seemed to be within 1 block. I would definitely stay here again.
Close to Union Square Very friendly staff Good value for money
