Located 50 m to Union Square Friendly staff Clean room Wifi works properly
The staff how friendly and welcoming they were
Clean Good wifi Great bed Windows could be opened
Heating would come on randomly and couldn't be adjusted No air con (but it was December)
Staff were very nice and helpful. Good WiFi connection...showers felt very good.
The rooms are very small, dingy, and outdated. Rooms get really hot overnight. There is a somewhat foul smell when you first enter...perhaps because of pet allowance.
Helpful staff, good location, reasonable price for location
Rooms require repairs
Excellent location Great transport connections Clean Comfortable Wifi included Felt safe
Room is quite small Fittings are not very modern Not that many facilities
Clean, just a few steps from Union Square. Perfect for what I needed: good location, clean and low price in comparison to other hotels (because it is very simple). I really liked that even the remote control was clean!
Old hotel and furniture. It should be clearer that there is no breakfast.
This was good value for money and the room was relatively large. I was on the quiet side of the hotel so there was very little noise that was enough to disturb me. Also its one of the few hotels I have stayed in in this price range that had a bath! The location of this hotel is excellent and it was good value for money.
The hotel is quite dated but generally well maintained. The elevator had a slightly odd smell and on one day did smell unpleasant. No breakfast facilities but they do give you a discount for a restaurant which is about 30 seconds outside the main door.
The staff at this hotel was extremely helpful, kind and polite. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the common areas of the hotel are nice. The location is quite simply perfect, right near union square and by all the attractions. The Wi-fi works very well and on more than one device. The room was small, but nicely decorated and very clean.
I found my bed somewhat uncomfortable. Also, my room was noisy with of a "beeping" sound of sorts coming from the street. Sensitive sleepers might want to ask for quiet room.
Room are not big, but they're perfect for staying a couple of days!
Good location (walking distance to main downtown area); Staff very kind and diligent; Confortable Room for few days of stay
night rate is expensive for what you get if you compare it to other cities or locations. But It may be just SFO benchmark
Room size, price, no facilities, airport taxi ordered did not come
very noisy, thin walls
Close to the center of SF.
Way too noisy. Window out to a brick wall.
The location is very good, wi-fi worked properly, friendly stuff.
The hotel is way overpriced. It is very good in general, but 220 euro for one night in a 3-star hotel with no restaurant? Please.
Close to shopping and dining. Right on cable car line. You could feel the rich history in the building.
Room was small. Bathroom was ridiculously small. Mattress sloped to one side.
Staff were prompt and very friendly A 2-Minute walk to Union Square
Single rooms are too small No Safe No Refrigerator Room feels too used. New furniture should be placed and some remodeling.
The hotel was fine, small rooms, fairly quaint, no-frills, but free coffee and wifi. This is expected from the older hotels in San Francisco. If you want frills, then stay at a major chain, which is not that much more expensive than the older hotels. I normally choose hotels for location, and room comfort (quiet is a necessity), and the hotel is fine in those areas. Please read the negative comment, it was not the hotel's fault but it did cause me some hassle.
Most hotels take a credit card in advance, and then charge upon checkout, thus if you need to change/cancel a reservation it is possible with no or a minor charge. I had gotten pretty ill, so I called the hotel and informed them that I needed to cancel/change my reservation. They told me that it would still be a full charge because booking.com charges the card immediately and it is out of the hotels' control. Anyway, I did finally see the fine print on booking.com which says non-refundable. Anyway, this is something to be aware of, your card is charged immediately and cannot change/refund. I understand this if it was a discount hotel rate, but the booking.com rate was about the same as booking at the hotel. So, just be aware of this. I did end up going to the hotel and the stay was fine, even though I was still ill.
Amazing and relaxing place to stay. Insane location!
*Very friendly and helpful staff
*No A.C. *The room and bathroom were very small in comparison to other comparable hotels. *Nearly everything in the room was low quality ranging from the TV to the toilet paper provided.
The staff is top-notch. The location is perfect. It's old (I like old hotels).
It's old. Yeah, this is a minus, too. If I had been traveling on my own dime, I would have skipped this place. It was way too expensive for what it was, I don't care that it was San Francisco, an expensive city, this place is overpriced.
Front desk and consierge were great. Bed was comfortable. Walking distance to union square.
Very noisy at night (saturday)
It is suitably located in the center Staff is very helpful and polite
Even quick breakfast is missing but this is just a minor issue. There's plenty other facilities in the area
The price !
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived, the hotel is really charming and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Travelling on my own I felt welcomed and well looked after.
The location is great for being central and easy to get around but with the single glazed windows you can hear some street noises at night.
