The location is perfect!!just in the center!!

They have one bathroom with toilet for one stage, it ia near 20 rooms!!!

My stay at the Latham was not good. The first day they put me in a room with no working air. Then the room that they put me in had a shared restroom, but the key didn’t work for the restroom so I had to go to the lobby. When I was able to use the restroom upstairs the restroom was dark and I slipped on someone’s feces. I called to inform the lobby and asked for laundry facilities the attendant Paul, Jeff or john told me there was not one for me to use. And later to find out didn’t write a accident report. So when I was telling the manager she was telling me that it never happened. Her co-worker Nancy was telling her that she knew about it the manager kept saying that it was not written down so it did not happen. The third room I was put in was a upgrade with its own restroom, that bath would not drain and it had its own rats that went through are stuff. The last room that I was put in had a flood that wet all of our stuff. The elevator was broken the one that worked was broken on some floors & staff had it occupied moving baby cribs to the entire hotel yes I said baby cribs. It turns out that the Latham is a halfway house/ shelter for women. I am handicap as I stated when I first singed in on your page from the beginning. I wanted to move but most of all the hotels were busy for the holiday weekend and it was hard to move around. But would I stay there again that would be a no. - Christian

Location is good

Omg the hotel must be more than 200 yrs old and never been renovated. The room is small. One bathroom each floor. The quilt is not clean. Everything in the room is oooold. I was seriously shocked when I open the room door (with a key key) I've only seen this kind of hotel room in black n white old movie.... I don't recommand this place. If you are not really really poor and could afford a more expansive hotel, avoid this one.

The only advantage of the hotel is, it's location. It is a few block away from subway stations and Empire States building.

However there is not much thing to say about sanitary or service. They were under average. In our 6 days accommodation, our bathroom was cleaned only one time. Also there are some people who take government aid I guess, that's why the atmosphere is not like a hotel.

I've been in a thousand hotel in the Euro/American world. When Latham gives a lowball price and then you're told on arrival that it's down the hall and shared with several other rooms, that's bait & switch. Then they demand photo id even if you pay cash. I assume they then sell client names & addresses to mailing list companies. Internet is $10 extra. The service is surly. My night cost $204 with a shower. That's no bargain. Never Again!

The first night of our stay the heat was turned off so our room was freezing. They did turn it on when we called. Also the mattresses were truly awful..prison quality. The thin blankets were also "prison quality". The room was very clean. The staff very helpful and friendly but the pictures they had of the rooms were totally misleading. Honestly the beds were so bad it was a joke I sent pictures of the crappy beds (which were basically rickety cots) to my facebook page for a laugh. It would have been a mostly positive experience except the beds were just awful. The floor would have been 10 times more comfortable.

The staff was very nice and helpful.

The place was horrible.The hallways smelled,The room was very small from the early 1900's with no tv reception the whole time there just static on the screen(I guess they didnt pay the tv bill),no clock in the room,not enough electric outlets everything was unplugged(refridge,microwave,tv etc..),the shower was homemade-like with badky sodered copper pipes from the local hardware store and a crusty shower head,plastic tiles through out the room and bathroom with stains and cuts in it,metal cots as beds,one dim ceiling light for each room,Wiring ran on the outside of the wall (cable,telephone,electric conduet),I can go on and on.

the location is excellent. It is very close to top tourist spots in NYC.

The hotel needs lots of improvement eg.: in Service (no loud r&b music in lobby - it is like you entering a discotheque rather than a hotel; the staff are not friendly and helpful at all - hardly smile and when you ask for a favor, they are very hesitant; in Facilities (everything looks old and no possibility of natural ventilation: the windows in this hotel are almost inexistant - they all face brick walls so there can hardly enter any fresh air or sun light to the rooms - the shared bathrooms smell so stinky - people just chuck in all their garbage like food, etc in the bathrooms; the rooms are poorly insulated - it is very cold in winter to sleep in the rooms, the heater is very old and does not heat the room properly, the windows are also pathetically old - lots of cold air can easily creep into the rooms (you can even hear it). We had to ask the hotel to give us more blankets and place them near the windows in our room), the paints are cracking and you can see the old part of woods on the walls in the rooms. We feel like as if we were staying in a hotel in a under developed country basically.

The location was excellent for easy access to the city. Rooms were quiet. I couldn't get a hostel bed for this busy weekend; this cost a little more than a hostel, but was a step up in terms of privacy. There was nothing luxurious, but that wasn't what I was looking for. It was clean, inexpensive, and provided a good stay for the night.

We found a great deal, the price was great. The location was also very good.

If you want to access the internet, they charge you 5$ for 1/2 hour. I think this has no sense at all.

The location was awesome; right in the heart of midtown so easily accessible to all areas of the city.

There was only a single, unmarked bathroom for the entire floor. I don't mind sharing, but the shower and toilet were all in the same room so if someone decides to take a shower, you could be waiting for a long time.
