Everything. We couldn't check in till 3pm. No good parking. The elevator smelled awful. The Bed was so Aweful, hard & out of date. Motel 6 has better rooms!
BED ,BATH BRAKFAST
The elevator was so old I had a panic attack in it while it grinded it's way through ten floors without lighting up any numbers. The doors don't touch the ground, so you can hear and smell your neighbors. The rugs were so disgusting I kept my shoes on the whole time. There was a condom wrapper in the closet,
Wifi was only good for basic email.
The location was great. Only a few blocks from the Dallas Convention Center, where I had business. The hotel had character, but needed upgraded and rejuvenated.
My friend got trapped in the elevator!
The desk clerk was very sympathetic!
The wi-fi didn't seem to work the last few days of our trip. It is currently undergoing renovations, but they did a great job to make sure that didn't impact guests. Upgrades will make it a La Quinta, but it looks like it will still maintain the quaint little boutique hotel appearance and feel.
The majority of the staff was EXCELLENT! They were very accommodating and willing to help when assistance was needed. The breakfast was GREAT! The location was FANTASTIC!
The hotel was under construction while we stayed, the rooms right down the hall we're gutted and smelled of paint and dust. The room was small and had an old box style tv... I'm sure once it is turned into LA Quinta Inn like it is getting done I bet it will be way nice.
It is within walking distance of the convention center. It's cool that it's an old historical building
The place looks hideous. Looks like it is out of a horror movie. Very very creepy. The carpet in the room had stains and the furniture was so ugly, some even broken. The air-con unity in the room was noisy and dusty. The phone in the room does not work. I would never go back to this place.
Just the location. Staff was friendly but very few staff in the hotel.
Everything else. No hot water, trashy, construction, unclean, rust in the toilet.
Lenny. The front desk clerk.
they are remodeling the hotel. The carpets are very old, even torn and they look dirty, the room is not vaccumed often (not once in 4 days)
Perfect location, you can visit every histórical point from the hotel. You can find coffee in the lobby all day long and at night, cookies and milk. The breakfast was good but they close very early, at nine am
Everything was perfect.
The rooms are great and comfortable. The breakfast is great. The staff was wonderful. We Really enjoyed our stay.
One of the staff at the front desk was extremely unpleasant, the room next to ours was under construction which filled the hall with dust. There were stains on the bedding and the heater didn't work.
construction underway lack of water pressure
location and view
The bed was ok, but the pillows were more firm than I like. Overall, I slept just fine.
I liked the fact that the Hotel Lawrence had character. We only stayed over night, but we were very pleased.
Heat didn't work the first night, was not comfortable that they let the homeless hangout in the lobby.
Great location! Right next to everything I needed down down. Hotel is super old and they are currently rebuilding. Breakfast is basic. Wish they had a shuttle service.
Crowded breakfast room - all seats and tables occupied, had to skip it.
Really good location to launch from, easy stroll Uptown or the FQ and close to Car stops. Friendly staff helped get my tours sorted.
Dirty and smelly. Parking was located away from the hotel.
It was downtown.
I wasn't crazy about the room being so small, but it is an older hotel. They are in the process of remoldeling, however it didn't affect our stay.
I loved the location, the secure parking garage, and the breakfast options. The staff was very friendly, and everyone spoke in passing. The price of the room was reasonable. We had a weekend filled with fun, so we didn't spend much time in the room.
The hotel is quite dated but I think people mistake this for being dirty, it's not. We found the room and bathroom to be very clean. The free breakfast was great with a good selection of food. The wifi kept cutting out in our room which was annoying. The location was great, in a nice area near to restaurants and also a train station. My only big criticism was that the hotel was undergoing some building work and when we came back to the room one early afternoon we couldn't really relax with the sound of drilling and banging going on until around 6/7pm. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be in a central location and who won't be spending much time in the room
sleeper sofa was not comfortable when pulled out. water was hot and had to run to get the cold.
building had character; free breakfast wasn't bad; staff was very accommodating. room was large with nice view. shower was good.
No hot water, the phine didn't work, I had to open the air conditioner box to adjust the heat and air.. Overall was a terrible experience.. Had to change rooms at 9:30 at night. The vally car was 15 minutes late opening the garage to get the cars.. I had to be at a race that mopening, and my car was locked in the garage.. The self park behind the hotel was closed..
did NOT look like the pictures at all. Hotel and room were very run down and old. Room had broken lamp, shower head did not work properly and paint peeling off walls. Also bed was not a full queen size even though we were reassured it was.....trust us it wasn't! hotel is being replaced....wish we were informed as we would have chosen a different place to stay. Overheard two other guests expressing their disappointment at the hotel and its appearance, so we were not the only ones who felt this way.
Staff were helpful and wifi was not bad
place is old and not very clean
it was right next to the Convention centre
see thru curtains looking at the street lights all night, tiny room, internet was down half the time, elevator had major problems and had to use the fire escape mast days, one elevator not in use.
location to the convention Centre is good
I didn't like the room itself. The hotel is very old, and has not really been updated. The paint was peeling off, and the plaster was cracked and practically falling off in the bathroom above the tub. But, if you're traveling by train it's convenient for that.
The location was great. Just a two minute walk to the Amtrak station, and a very short walk to Dealy Plaza. Breakfast was like any other motel, but it was adequate for my needs.
