The location, breakfast was average
The corridor had a weird smell, this hotel is quite expensive and it is not in very good condition.
good and helpful staff, great location, near to many attractions and museums in old town
a refrigerator and a safety box in the room could be useful
The hotel was in the perfect location - close to everything in downtown, close to the interstate to reach all of DFW area and close to the main train station in case you need public transportation. It is by no means an upscale joint, so don't expect the luxuriousness of the Westin, but for a weekend getaway on a budget, this was the perfect place at a great price. Parking was convenient and hotel staff was friendly. If you're a history buff, this is right up your alley - lot of significance and background to the building, plus close to all of the local monuments and historical attractions. I'd stay there again if I went to Dallas.
The staff were wonderful. Lenny especially made us feel welcome and at home. We arrived at 1am, in a state of total exhaustion. Lenny eased us through the check-in process and helped get us off to bed as quickly as possible. The breakfast in the morning is fantastic! It is hot and has a large selection. The eggs are good and they have bacon one day and sausage the next. There is also a large selection of bread/pastries. They also have a waffle maker, fruits, juice, yogurt and cereal as well as the standard coffee and tea. The location is fantastic. We were just a couple of blocks from the Kay Bailey Convention Center. It is right in the heart of downtown.
The building is old and run down. The rooms are small and cramped. The carpet is worn and shabby. Both the tub faucet and the toilet leaked in the first room we were given. They ran constantly. We asked to be given a different room. The plumbing in the new room worked great. That being said, what do you expect for half (or less) the cost than hotels within a block of the Hotel Lawrence.
This hotel combines a historic atmosphere with modern amenities quite well. The staff were very friendly, and the parking valet was especially helpful and informative.
The mattress was a bit oddly shaped, but it was just an aesthetic issue
Cut my stay to 1 day instead of 2
Location is the only thing this old bag has going for her. She's a 20 minute stroll from the bar scene on Main Street.
This hotel looks like she's been used and abused like a $2 escort. Many things are broken / don't work like they used to.
The venue was excellent as it was quite close to my business venue. Breakfast was ok, really simple.
I think it was a bit too pricy for the services offered.
Lack of Bar
The location was close to the convention center. Registration staff were friendly.
Hot water temperature was luke warm at best. There was mold on the shower curtain, lots of white "stains" on the carpet and a line of a white powdery substance on the floor near the baseboard behind the headboard and near the window - I only saw two bugs, but I suspect the powder may have been for pest control. Very expensive for the conditions.
Really needs an update. Had to sleep 2 nights without blackout curtains even though staff was notified and reminded that they were missing.
Location, staff and facilities
Smell of the a "damp" carpet when u enter the lobby. I suggest u remove the carpet
Front desk person who worked the night shift was very friendly and helpful.. Will be back just because of him
Loved the location, very near the American Airlines Center where I was attending the concert. I liked the vintage feel of the hotel. the staff was very nice and breakfast was good. it is also close to public transportation.
It is a little rundown for the price. I think the owners would be better off redoing a floor at a time and not using floors that need remodeled. The bathroom set up was very strange and I almost knocked the shelf off, it was balancing very precariously to begin with. There is plenty of room to make a really nice bathroom. The parking was non existent and I did get a ticket at 7:10 am, but they is the city's fault.
Hotel is just a short distance from JFK tour bus and museum. Also close to a cafe around corner with excellent lunches and desserts We enjoyed the chocolate cookies served between 5 & 7 PM. This is a old hotel but had its charm
Every thing was good.
Location Staff very friendly and helpful
Breakfast was a laugh Hotel very foul smelling Outdated needs an upgrade No room facilities eg fridge
The breakfasts were better than I expected. A good variety of choices.
No valet. Parking lot is a long walk.
The hotel smelled musky the carpet is nasty we paid for two nights only stayed one it is not a 3 Starr hotel
Staff friendliness & pride in this faded building Location Breakfast selection
The Smell when you walk in Stains on the carpets in the lifts and bedrooms Plastic cups , plates, knives , forks Large street bins in restaurant for plastic inability to open the wondow as they were sealed shut with paint leaking shower tap that kept me awake at night General faded decor Price way tooo high for the condition of the condition of the hotel
Bathroom; size of room very small; elevator is useless; no ice on 4th floor; old TV; parking; bed too soft (hurts back); walls too thin (can hear conversations through walls); could be charming but needs a major renovation; expensive for what you get...
Location near Dealey Plaza Breakfast WiFi Convenience to Union Station rail access to DFW
Nothing other than JFK site in this area
It was near the AA center.
Dirty lobby and elevator. No breakfast with the room. Old rooms.
The building was close to the venue we came to attend. The building was definitely "historic".
The breakfast room was pouring water from the ceiling. Walls were chipped, broken and had torn wallpaper. The ad stated the facility had transportation within a few mile radius and when we inquired after it were told "no, we don't offer that service." The shower in our room did not drain properly. It seems more effort could be put into renovating the building. It smelled dank and was very creepy.
No hot water to take shower in the morning... asked clerk to have the manager call me... because he was at the bank depositing my money I suppose... he never called..very disappointing!
Location, price, breakfast included, great staff, comfortable walk to the Historic district.
No bar or facilities open in the evening. No in-room tea making facilities (only coffee)
