The welcoming lobby is a great introduction to the hotel. The staff are all very attentive and answered any questions I had. The breakfasts at Norma's were simply divine and I loved the secret burger bar too! The room was extremely basic. It was a good size considering it was in NYC but finishings such as the plug point on the wall looked scruffy and dated. The television, which was a cure for my jetlag was very old and had a bad picture. There was a substantial amount of hair left in the bath plug hole on arrival and one of the towels had stains on. It very much felt like the bargain room.

It was a lovely hotel. The Jr. suite was very comfortable. The bed and sofa bed both very comfortable. The room was very clean. Close to everything. No bed bugs!! Enjoyed and will be back! Norma's restaurant. We made a reservation. Waited 20 minutes to be seated and then waited 40 minutes for our food! This was breakfast not dinner, waste of time. I must admit the food was terrific but not interested in waiting that long for breakfast, dinner yes.Old fashion tv, need upgrade to plasma.

The best thing (and only redeeming feature that would have me coming back) is Normas. The breakfast menu is excellent and is available until 3pm, such a good variety of sweet and savoury dishes! The French toast with caramel sauce was yummy! The staff in the breakfast area were the only ones I found to be warm and friendly. You can make a reservation without staying in the Hotel which I would advise you to do! I didnt like the fact that I had wrote to the Hotel via email before my stay to try and arrange some things for our arrival and the guy dealing with my emails just didnt bother to respond or help me in anyway after the first email I sent- I even forwarded my email to him again but nothing. Which was dissapointing and I was trying to arrange a surprise of a cake and cocktails in our room (for my partners birthday). I asked for a menu and pricing for a small cake which could have easily been bought (or if they had suggested it, I would have been more that happy with pancakes from Nomas!) but no response, nothing. The pool is very small, which you dont pick up from the website. It does not feel inviting.

Construction noise was terrible. So loud was the noise we could not hear the woman at reception when we checked in. Fortunately it stopped after 5pm on Friday and we stayed for the weekend

Excellent location and generally a good standard of rooms. The level of service by the staff was high and they were very helpful. The hotel has character. Love the swimming pool on the top of the hotel overlooking Central Park. Not sure the hotel is great value for money. The gym should be free! Disappointed there is not free wireless.

Great location in Manhatten. Close to everything. Shops, taxis, etc, easily available. Friendly and helpful desk staff. I would have really appreciated an in-room coffee maker. I know there is a shop in the hotel and shops close, but I really like coffee right away in the morning. Even cheaper hotels usually provide them, so was disappointed in that.

Brilliant Midtown location, perfect walking distance to so many sights, Central Park, Lincoln Centre, Carnegie Hall, 5th Avenue, MoMA and Rockefeller Centre. Subway stops at both ends of the block too. Great view of the park (thanks to an upgrade) and the pool in the roof was blessed with the same. Norma's does great great breakfasts and the brunch on Sunday is the stuff of legend. Cocktails in Knave were delicious, and the space is very special. The biggest surprise however was hidden behind the giant red curtain in the lobby however. A stealth mode, spit and sawdust burger joint transplanted from somewhere quite different to become something quite special here. Get a cheeseburger, fries and Coke late one night with a date and you'll see. Loved it. Expensive Wi-F for what it's worthi but there's a Starbucks across the street giving it away for free.

Very friendly staff, who were very helpful. Very good room, but the bathroom was small. Enjoyed our stay As I said, bathroom was very small. Nothing about this hotel is reasonable. $5.00 for a bottle of sprite, food could break the bank, and the room rate was very high.....but the hotel is nice, and if you can afford the prices, this is an excellent hotel.

Unfortunately the building works spoilt what could have been a very memorable stay for myself and three teenage sons. The drilling started at 7am and didn't stop until 6pm. Had we known we would have booked another hotel. No compensation, no apologies ...had to ask to be moved. Eating in the burger bar was horrendous and spoilt the great tasting burgers simply because you couldn't hear yourself speak because of the constant drilling.

Construction was so loud on lower floors it was impossible to sleep.torture. No way should rooms be available until work is complete. Having a Letter in the room warning and apologizing is far short of a good experience.1

Beautiful bar area No good dining restaurant in a 4 star hotel??? They have a burger restaurant - very small with long lines to get in. The concierge defended this by saying that people stand in line for hours as they are the best burgers in town. When I checked out the front desk admitted that they did have a fine restaurant before and they will perhaps have one again and they get lots of guests requesting more than a burger... I told him I don't expect to have to stand in line for a burger only option at a 4 star hotel... Room service is the only option if you want to eat something other than a burger... or you can even order the same burger in room service and avoid standing in line for an hour... A very bizarre and unacceptable situation

Not too big, a simple elegance and very friendly staff. Rooms were fine, and the view perfect. The main reason for picking the le parker was its pool on top. Upon reservation, we were not told that the pool is closed for renovation, and the fitness room is only partionally functioning.

The hotel has a definite European flair and the staff is multilingual. It is very conveniently located with two access entryways---56th and 57th St. The room was clean and with a few amenities but sufficient for us. Upon requesting items from housekeeping they responded promptly and delivered as anticipated.

Location The pictures on the website looked so good and I was expecting a lovely 'superior' room. However, on arrival, the room was very basic. The shelves in the room were not invitiong to put your clothes on as they were dusty and in desperate need of replacement or at least a repaint,. The corners of the carpet were not clean. Curtains were grubby. The top cover on the beds were not inviting -doubt they are cleaned between clients. Would recommend they use white sheets and then replace between clients. No tea/coffee facilities and mini bar grubby handle and door with only basic tumblers -not ideal, if you did fancy a glass of wine
