The efficiency and friendliness of the hotel staff; and the room service was immaculate.
The room, the pool, the rooftop sun-deck, the gym, the juice bar, Norma's, the espresso lounge!
Needed an extra blanket for fold out bed. Needed the pool hours and gym class schedule in room.
Location is great, staff is friendly, Normas is wonderful. The beds are very comfortable, too.
Our Junior Suite was lacking in amenities....no refridgerator, no ice machine on the floor, no coffee maker, nowhere to hang wet towels in the bathroom, and no mirrors anywhere except the small one in the bathroom. It is always nice to see what you look like before heading out the door!! We were supposed to have a mini-bar, too, but didnt. All these things aside, we will definitely stay here again, as the pros outweigh the cons!

The location is excellent and it has a well equipped gym and a rooftop pool, or though it is tiny in terms of the size of the hotel.
The fact that such a so called highly rated/starred hotel doesn't even have tea/coffee facilities in the room so you have to go hunting for a Starbucks to get a cup of coffee in the morning is pretty poor.

I booked a room at the Parker Meridien as I was passing through New York on my way to Europe and needed to stay in a well located hotel for one night. I used the morning to go out for breakfast and attend to shopping I needed to do and came back to the hotel at 11.30 am in order to shower and prepare myself and my luggage for going to the airport in the afternoon. I requested a late check out with the conceirge on the way back to my room, they checked the computer and said that would be fine and gave me a 12.30 check out time. When I arrived at the room my electronic key would not allow me access and so security was called by the housekeeping staff in the corridor. The security man opened my door for me and we found a maintenance person working on the bathroom. All of my clothes and bags were clearly around the room and my personal items were in the bathroom so there was no doubt that the room was still occupied. I am writing this complaint in booking.com as I feel that management did not address this problem in the correct manner and did not offer adequate compensation for this intrusion. Considering the high price I had paid several months in advance for the uninterrupted use of this room for the 16 hour period between checking in and checking out of the hotel, I feel the hotel should provide some kind of refund or compensation as they did not honour my exclusive use of the room but caused me extreme anxiety and loss of precious time finding my room occupied upon my return and then having to wait around while another room was located that I could use to shower and prepare before going to the airport.
The rooms are large, especially compared to other NY hotels. The front desk was very nice. The location is great. The prices are better than other ny hotels. It's very clean. The new gym is awesome! I love that it has a pool!
The concierge isn't friendly. They have an attitude, which isn't good when you are at a concierge desk. I saw them snickering at a guest. The restaurant Norma's isn't as good as people say. The presentation of the food is impressive, but the food itself is greasy.
The location was great. So too we're the staff who assisted very helpfully with every query I had. The bar in the hotel was also great----with superb martinis and very charming bar staff.
I couldn't get to use the swimming pool, one of the reasons I chose the hotel, as there were too many people using it and no structure for swimming use i.e often in a small pool like that swimmers swim in a fixed direction so there's room for 3 or 4 people to swim. In the hotel pool once the people swimming we're in it they stayed there in a very splashing and territorial way so I couldn't get in. Maybe the staff need a bit of direction on that.

the room was spacious (7th floor) and the pool area clean. check-in staff very helpful with questions. Norma's for brunch (crunchy french toast!) was excellent
Manhattan pricing for sure
We were charged twice for the same hotel room and it took several weeks to correct the additional charge. The staff on hand at check in and check out could not correct the issue.
The room was incredibly hot, even when the thermostat was on 50 degrees. Furniture had scratches and didn't look clean. Towels were awful considering the luxury hotel this is supposed to be.

HVAC is completely inadequate - the room temperature could only be controlled by turning off the thermostat, opening the window and getting a fan from housekeeping. Pretty ridiculous for a **** hotel, don't you think?

Even on the 16th floor, you can hear street noise including loud dumpsters being emptied at 4 am. I suspect rooms facing 57th Street would be quieter -- our room faced 56th.
Hotel always try to charge deposit 100 usd for each day of stay as deposit for extras.
Business office - noin hotel support. I got re-routed to a help desk in Los Angeles that was completely clueless on how to help especially when I was in a hurry and had a breakfast meeting downstairs which was the main reason I choose this hotel. When you pay $500 for a hotel room you should be able to print 2 pages in the business center for free. I had to pay $14 just to get an Internet connection so I could access my email to get to the 1 page document I needed to print because you couldn't insert a thumb drive into this awful system. And then I couldn't print the document after all and I ran out of time.
One of the world's greatest views from your room...what more could you ask! The bar is in a beautiful space and all cocktails made to suit individual taste...excellent Excellent location for museums and performance arts
The sauna and steam room are not by the penthouse pool but in the gym locker-rooms(you have to walk through the lobby and down a separate lift...not great in your bikini!) which restricted the spa experience...
