The entire staff was absolutely wonderful...I can't wait to go back!
Good vibes, safety, great breakfast
Location, service, staf
We are repeat bookers at the hotel so we knew we were in a great location & safe place in the qtr.The staff gave great recommendations of resturants close by.A place we will see again!
Loved the room but two things were worth mentioning. The mattress was slightly soft and dipped into the center. The tub had no drain plug so no tub bath. But with only these things I think they can be corrected easily and it wouldn't stop us from booking here again.
Huge room, full size fridge, great location for music on Frenchman street and short walk to Jackson square/french quarter shopping, sights. Lovely patio.
Bathroom and carpets in room could use an update, walls are a bit thin if the neighbors are rowdy. Bed was on the hard side and squeaky.
Great location. Clean rooms. Staff was very friendly. Great trip!
Great location a few easy blocks from the action in the Quarter. The staff were all friendly and helpful, but what I liked the best was the feel of the place: the exterior, the big front door, the little wooden cubicles where the keys were kept, the old style keys, etc. Some of the room was dated....it is not the Hilton, but why go to New Orleans if not to enjoy the character of the place?
I liked being fairly close to everything but it was a quiet area of the French Quarter.
The bathroom sink and toilet are very low. I wished the people working in the restaurant would have been a little quicker with the menu and asking for drinks.
The hotel was clean and fit in the style of the French Quarter.
Great location, lots of character, friendly staff
very warm room. We had to open the window to cool it down.
Ease of parking and friendliness of staff
You can hear people in the hallway.
We liked the French doors to a 2nd floor balcony the length of the building. During late January, the room and the surrounding neighborhood was quiet. The decor was "original", fitting in to the French Quarter with quality. We even liked using a key to get in our room instead of a card. Close to Frenchman street music. We loved it.
We had no "not likes".
This was a great location, right in the French Quarter but quiet and comfortable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast in their Cafe was quick, convenient and a good price.
Should have brought my power strip. Only 1 outlet in the bathroom and the plugs were all loose.
The hotel was very clean.
There is not enough room here to tell you the problems with this hotel. The bathrooms are from the early 70's. Pinky beige little tiles everywhere. Horrible. Commode leaned to one side. The tub didn't drain well and commode hardly flushed The furniture is from the same era. It was a tired little room. You have to go down 3 flights to get ice or a coke thru on open courtyard. The worst thing about the whole situation was the lack of a thermostat. When we walked into the room is was so hot you could not breathe. We turned the knob down to low, but it didn't help. Finally called down stairs and asked how to turn it off. You Can't. They would have to call an a/c guy to come in and disconnect it. At this point she got rude. She told me to open my window and turn on the fan it I didn't like it. We cooked all weekend without the window being open. The beds are rocks and tiny. She said it was a queen and I can assure you it was not. I called Booking.com about the problem and I was told there wasn't anything they could do. The pool area was pretty. The bartender was nice. It is , I think, 11 long blocks to Jackson Square. You DO NOT get your money's worth here.
We liked the old fashion feel of the hotel. Felt like a New Orleans French Quarter hotel experience you would imagine.
The heating and air conditioning systems were difficult to program. TV channel selections could have been better and larger screens would be nice.
I love the fact that the hotel is within walking distance of significant restaurants and music but off the beaten path.
the cost quoted was more once charged to my credit card.
There was no individual thermostat for your room. In order to sleep more comfortably, we opened our balcony door to allow some cooler air to come in.
Provided opportunities to hear some Jazz.
In a rustic area of the French Quarter.
The old style feel of the historic preservation of the hotel.
The $25 parking fee wasn't originally in price and I wasn't told about it till after I checked out.
Nice looking exterior and lobby, good location, nice courtyard.
Dated. The bathrooms need to be updated, the tubs do not drain and also the heat would not come on in the room which seemed like it was common as they handed us a space heater as a resolve.
staff, restaurant, furnishing, service
bathroom: no hot water 1st night. bathtub/shower needs upgrade.
Location was great. We parked the car and joule walk everywhere
The beds were far too soft. No coffee maker.
