Likes: 1. Big bed 2. Balcony 3. Cool, seventies-era bathroom 4. Feels like the Shining except not as scary 5. Friendly staff 6. Lovely painting in the foyer of a man and his black cat being rowed on a river 7. Halloween decorations everywhere!!
Breakfast was ok--since the hotel is close to so many restaurants, just walk down the block for more variety. Envy is a good coffee shop they had breakfast and Cafe du Monde is less than 10 min by foot.
my gf liked how it felt a bit creepy lol I liked the balcony. Location was fabulous and price was very fair.
Didn't like how our electronics was acting up. That's about it.
Breakfast was very good. Quiet neighborhood and helpful staff. I would stay there again.
Le Richelieu is in walking distance of many sites in New Orleans. You get the feel of the French Quarter without being in the middle of the noise. The breakfast quality was good and the cost was comparable to other options. The front desk staff were very friendly.
Of course it's old, but the bathroom and kitchen facilities are also dated. They were fine, reasonable for the price, but at least 50 years old.
Great Location and price. Our favorite place to stay in the French Quarters!
Excellent position in the quiet part of the French Quarter. Brilliant long-serving bartender. Parking on site a real bonus.
Poor wifi reception, but I can't be sure that wasn't at least partly my device.

Bathroom could have been bigger "
It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. It was in the French Quarter, but in the quieter section.
I wish they had food/room service available later in the day.
The location was fantastic! The staff were very friendly. The room itself was clean and simple. Overall it was well worth it. My friends and I had a great trip. I would stay here again for sure.
Advertised free parking when I booked the hotel, but then had to pay $20/day.
As first timers in NOLA the location could not have been better for our honeymoon. We could walk almost everywhere and those a bit far were accessible by trolley car easily. (And it was still quiet enough since a couple of blocks from bourbon street.) Also loved the privacy of the building and park in lot. We felt safe and relaxed. Plus the pool was a super afternoon treat almost every day! If tou can try to get on second floor to the most awesome balcony rooms! Not sure which all had access, but looked like about 10 rooms could go right out to balcony.
Overall the staff was nice but we felt they could have been a bit more helpful, especially upon check in. Confusing about parking (leave car on the street when checking in and they will give you a key to lot behind the building), and felt unnecessary to have to pay $20 per night to park after paying for a room. Should have been included in our opinion.
Great location especially if you're going to see the music on Frenchmen Street. And an easy walk to everything in the French Quarter. Quiet at night. Great value for the money. My hotel of choice in New Orleans.
Excellent location, reasonable priced parking, nice courtyard for visiting, friendly staff, quiet room
The location couldn't be better, and the hotel was lovely, with great guest rooms, a small bar, a pool, and, handy for us, parking. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the French Quarter.
Unlike cookie cutter hotels like Holiday Inn Express, I can't imagine the Richlieu outside New Orleans/ The server who gave us breakfast has been there for 30 years. The outside hallway from the parking lot to the hotel goes by the kitchen on one side and the dining area on the other. The smells are delicious.
Le Richelieu was perfect for my first visit to the Crescent City for a vacation with my sisters! Beautiful, great location, delightful staff... I highly recommend it. And did I mention parking, too?
The tub had a slow drain
So happy we found this place on booking.com. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is incredibly polite and very helpful and it's the perfect location. You are within walking distance to almost anything but it situated on a quiet street and has gated parking. We will be back to New Orleans and we will be staying at Le Richelieu.
The hotel is off the beaten path, but within a few blocks of Bourbon and Frenchman Sts. The room was comfortable and peaceful. The staff was helpful.
The bathroom could use an update, but it was clean.
Loved the charming 'old school' feel of the place. Many of the staff have been there years and help to give the impression that little has changed in that time. We loved the decor of our room and the rest of the hotel. We had access to a shared balcony. There is a generous car park charged at $20 a day if you have a vehicle, but you don't need one as everything is easily reachable by foot or public transport. A very good restaurant nearby is Coop's, and if you can make it to The Grill for breakfast at the other end of Chartres Street, you won't be disappointed. The hotel has a happy hour where everything is half price. The location is really ideal for everything in the French quarter, being at the quieter end of things, but within an easy walk of Bourbon Street. The reception can book tours of the city, which we did and can recommend along with the 2 hour trip up the river on the Natchez paddle steamer. We loved New Orleans, its people and Le Richelieu.
Wi Fi was a bit patchy, but best in the pool and reception areas.
willingness to cancel balance of reservation. stayed only one night. should have checked room before staying, but it was late and we were tired.
room needs update.
Nice clean hotel with secured parking. Great safe location to the French Quarter and Frenchman St.
Had to change rooms in order to get a WiFi connection and still was poor in the new room. New room was very nice though, so not being in the room much anyway, I just gave up using WiFi or walked to the lobby.
Historic like atmosphere. Great location if you like the French quarter. Most of the staff was friendly.
Paper thin walls couldn't sleep well. Heard the conversations next door almost word for word. No coffee pot. Felt like the staff wanted to sell tours more then anything. Just not what I thought it would be. Won't be returning to New Orleans again.
Good position& good pool nice breakfast
Location, location, location! Secure parking accessible when needed without valet. Very good breakfast in intimate setting. Helpful ,friendly staff.
Nothing comes to mind.
