Wonderful staff made our navigating the French Quarter so much easier. The on-site restaurant where we could choose to eat breakfast was very convenient, as was the happy hour bar service. Old flair feeling with all the conveniences. Very friendly staff!
Every thing good people close to every thing. Captures the french quarter magic
Gorgeous Antique furniture through the lobby, bar, and hallways. Also a lovely bar, and the staff was kind and helpful.
Guest rooms were in need of an update, and air conditioning controls.
Great location and a fabulous building. Staff at reception were unbelieve ably friendly and efficient. We had a great stay.
The fact that we couldn't stay here longer. We enjoyed it so much.
Location, staff excellent. Overall very good value.
Quaint hotel. If you are looking for trendy or modern, look elsewhere. Old hotel in perfect location. Close enough but not with the crowds.
Air wasn't easy to control.
Representative of Quarter
Needs a little refurbishing
-staff were all friendly and very helpful -location can NOT be beat -self-parking in a private lot at a reasonable price -reasonable price for rooms -large counter in bathroom! -elevator -happy hour in lounge - we took wine up to our room
-some rooms are in bad location (room 116) -Room 324 - you can hear the voices of the breakfast staff at 6:30 am below the room -Bathroom fixtures are a bit dated, but still operable
Just like the feel of the French Quarters! Front Office staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our room and they quickly remedy the situation and gave us a upgrade to a suite. We met Mr. Frank the owner and was very charming Southern Gentleman.
We love all the staff ! Invariably accommodating and pleasant !
We were sorry that the pool was being dug out while we were visiting--we always enjoy sitting outside with morning coffee or a cocktail in the evening...but, know that by our next visit, the pool will be even better!
Great location and lovely older building.
Bedroom window looked out onto a wall. Should've asked for balony earlier.
Not a bedroom factory
Décor was very tired
the location is fantastic and the staff is knowledgeable. The hotel is close to everything in the French Quarter, but far enough from the noise. I am a light sleeper and had no trouble here.
It is an old hotel, much like everything in the French Quarter. It is clean and comfortable but if a few chipped tiles and strange patches on the ceiling bother you don't stay here. The charm of the hotel won us over by the second night.
Loved the location. Close enough to everything in the French Quarter without the noise. Friendly helpful front desk staff. Maid service was excellent. Good breakfast. The building was older but very comfortable and charming. Parking lot was secure and convenient.
Would have loved the kitchen to be open for evening meals.
Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Complimentary coffee was available. Parking was reasonably priced $20. Staff was good for the most part, front desk staff friendly and helpful.
Room was small, kind of cramped, tv viewing from bed only not desk. No microwave in room.
S taff was courteous and willing to go the extra mile. Rooms were large and I loved being able to sit out on my balcony.
All the staff of the hotel were so helpful and pleasant, it made the stay feel more like home. Very nice cozy bar and the owner pops in and out to say hi to his guests Such a nice touch and so "Old School"
The hotel is old and needs a little TLC but still it was great value for money. Please do not take this as a criticism
Quaint little hotel. Ask for a balcony room overlooking the pool. Walk 2 blocks south and you're at the French market. Walk 2 blocks north when you're on Bourbon St. Walk 2 blocks east and you're on Frenchmen Street. Walk 3 or 4 blocks west and you're at the Jackson Square Cathedral!
The location was awesome!!! very short walk to Bourbon and French Market
They cooked us in the rooms!!!! It was like a sauna the entire weekend. The room units are all controlled by one thermostat!!! They kept the heat on most of the time so we just had to close the vent and open the window. At almost $200 a night I should not have to sleep with a window open
Overall a great location to experience the Crescant City. A great walking town, friendly folks and wonderful treasures to be found in various boutiques and galleries.
The location of our room. We were next to the elevator on the inside and on a busy street on the outside. It was quite noisy throughout the night.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Accommodated us when we had a noisy neighbor in an adjoining room. Location perfect for exploring the French Quarter. Pool & courtyard were very pleasant. Reasonable price.
Rooms were noisy because of thin doors between rooms. We moved rooms after the first night because our neighbor was on the phone at 5 am. The next night in a new room I had to call to get the guest to turn the TV volume down. Not for light sleepers. Bathroom also needed repair - a towel rack barely held in place and faucets in bad repair.
Bathrooms need updating. Even though hotel is historic, bathrooms were functional but old.
We could open window and location.
Room was very small. Bathroom was old and water pressure was very low in shower. The room did not reflect the pictures I saw when I booked it. Way overpriced, but I guess you pay extra for being in the French Quarter.
We loved this hotel! Will definitely go back on our next visit to NOLA.
