Wonderful alternative to hotel.
Heat in room was uneven. Decaf coffee would be appreciated.
Near Subway (30 min from Manhattan) Quiet place Super nice lobby (coffee, tea, games, etc) Nice breakfast Price
Make sure you write up your name in the board for breakfast next morning. Wouldn't rent again the economic room. The others are very good.
Keurig, Computer and printer access, helpful innkeeper, the shampoo and conditioner, bottled water
The mosquito outside got me a number of times. It was very hot and humid when I stayed. Perhaps you all could spray outside?
That the place was very quiet
Lovely street. Comfy rooms and beds
Parking is arduous. West Indian festival weekend made for a few noisy nights, but our hosts switched our room for quiet.
Quiet, clean and friendly with a very good breakfast option.
Wi-fi was strong in the lobby but weak in our room on the top floor.
From the moment we booked our stay at Lefferts Manor (which we chose because of the excellent reviews on booking.com amongst other places), we could totally understand why it receives fantastic reviews. The information sent to us by the hotel was very comprehensive and extremely helpful to us, as we had not visited this part of Brooklyn before. We stayed at the main B&B on Rutland Road. Our arrival went smoothly as Mark (the Innkeeper) responded promptly to our emails and gave us advice on how to get to Lefferts Manor from JFK. Upon arrival we were shown to our beautiful room (the Osborne, in my opinion, the loveliest room although all that I glimpsed looked lovely too). As well as being aesthetically great, the practicalities of the room and the hotel in general were excellent - free water and coffee/tea, use of a fridge and computer, excellent wifi, a good aircon system and very, very comfortable beds. The subway with the express Q line to Manhattan (also the B) was about 5 minutes walk away and there are some nice shops and cafes in the immediate vicinity. Prospect Park was just past the subway. At the top of Prospect Park on Flatbush Avenue are lots of bars and restaurants and is easy to walk to (or just one or 2 stops on the subway depending on where you want to get off). Mark was so helpful with recommendations for our stay regarding things to do both nearby and throughout the city. He was very accommodating in letting us leave our suitcases on the day we left and also ordering us a cab - little things like this matter. All in all, a great stay and we would love to visit again. Thanks so much, Anna and Joe.
very nice rooms, in the Lady Fenimore House are only 2 Bedrooms (sharing a bathroom and a kitchen together), perfect location for 2 couples, it's more like a home than like a hotel, would like to stay there longer
Very nice apartment in a nice neighborhood
The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were tasty and a very good value. I liked the fact that we could "sign up for breakfast" until as late as 8am. The room was clean and comfortable.
The walk between the house and the subway was short but late at night it made us a little uncomfortable.
Paying for breakfast (I forgot that it was NOT included when I booked 3 months ago). Not getting an email back from Mark when I requested specific airport transportation information. I had THEE noisiest A/C in all of Brooklyn. Seeing my breakfast remains still on the common table an hour after I finished.
Room was beautiful clean. Beautiful area
Beautiful block, clean and spacious Garden Suite, very nice owners to deal with, fair price
I chose this place originally for the closeness to my daughter, who lives just one block away. Also, the price is very reasonable for NYC.
This time we hardly saw Mark. No one greeted us and there was no one around when we departed. We are familiar with the area, so it wasn't a problem, but it did feel a little strange when we left not to have anyone ask if our stay was OK.
Great place, superb breakfast, very friendly staff, very comfortable bed, Prospect Park nearby!
If you want to go to Manhattan, public transport is good. If you need to go to Queens or other Brooklyn areas, it can get a bit more tricky. But only just. :)
On street parking was a wonderful perk. The street on which the property is located, staff and accommodations were exceptional. Proximity to the park and several recommended restaurants also huge unexpected advantages.
There is a two block walk from the subway that was uncomfortable certain times of the day.
Quiet, clean room. Beautiful area but concerned area. Fast wireless WiFi for planning day trips, etc. No tv. Clean bathroom facility.
Breakfast not included free at a B&B and served a block away. Shared bathroom & kitchenette. Availability of roadside parking. Sparsely equipped shared kitchenette. Minimum 10 minute walk to subway in what locals called 'questionable area'. No tv.
The relaxed and friendly atmosphere
Felt very welcomed by the staff. The room was very cute and cozy. Location was very convenient to trains and food.
The radiator was a little finicky.
The owner Mark and all his staff were extremely helpful. The B&B has lots of unique artefacts and is a really individual place to stay. My boyfriend loved searching the bookshelves for interesting things to read! We both appreciated the fast free wifi (there is also a desktop for guests to use free of charge). And our room (the Osborne) was huge!! We will definitely consider staying here again when we return to NYC.
It's a bit further out of town than most places to stay but the Q subway train from Prospect Park into Manhattan is very convenient, with regular, fast services (approx 30 mins to city centre). We also got a cab back from Williamsburg late one night for only $20. At times the radiator in our room was a bit noisy but that's what you get in an old house with so much character! We were fine with the shared bathroom as there is one on each floor so you are only ever waiting for a few minutes.
Cozy, comfortable, quiet quarters in Brooklyn. Close to many things and great subway access so we could get all over NYC. Liked the ability to grab tea, coffee or hot chocolate at end of busy day.
It would have been nice if the small kitchen-like area had a small sink, but that's minor.
I loved everything!! Staying there was a GREAT decision. It was me and my 3 year old little girl and they were so great and super accomodating and helpful. We got maps, told where everything was, super clean and nice room-it was way awesome. I would 100% highly recommend this place!!
The ONLY thing I didn't put as excellent was the location, just because I wasn't familiar with the area and walked around at night a lot, which wasn't the best idea for that area. Just pay attention to what streets you're on and what time of day/night it is! :] Not bad at all though, I didn't have problems, just worried a little.
