The owner Joan was very gracious and welcoming; lovely, graceful inn which enhanced our enjoyment of Tanglewood and Lenox area.

My husband and I enjoyed lovely conversations with the host family. We could walk into town for restaurants and shops. The common rooms were large and filled with beautiful antiques. They were very helpful with questions about places to visit in the area.

Again, our stay was very pleasant. The family makes everyone feel welcome and were dealt with fondly by many guests; the inn has many spacious rooms for relaxing; breakfast was large and varied. Our room did have nice space with a small bathroom enclosed. The location is terrific. We hadn't asked if a queen sized bed was available and would have preferred one.

Prefer the funky Victorian decor to sterile modern motels. Loved the lawn with room to play bocce, sit under the wisteria laden pergola and smoke a fine cigar just minutes from Tanglewood. Not your place if you are looking for flat screen tv, lots of space, modern decor, etc.

Close proximity to Tanglewood. Where do I begin. Room on my Booking.com confirmation was listed as " Room 1, Double Room". What we were assigned was a tiny room that was completely unacceptable and dissappointing. In particular: - Bathroom with a toilet that could only be utilized by sitting sideways. - An uncomfortable thin mattress that was underlain with a piece of plywood! -A bathroom door with a faulty knob mechanism such that the door could only be secured with a side bolt. - No air conditioner - a noisy ceiling fan that hindered sleep! - The windows were covered with dusty lace curtains. - No bathrobe though my confirmation indicated that one would be included. - A makeshift tiny "storage closet " that was cobbled from what appeared to be cabinet doors with hangars on a post. I can honestly say that these were some of the worse accomodations that I have ever experienced, and consequently one of the worst nights sleep and my wife have ever had. This B & B in general seems to need a through cleaning and better maintenance.

We were charged an extra $21 "room tax" on top of the already steep price paid to Booking.com. I did not expect to pay an additional fee. I beleive I am owed a refund of $42, $21 for each of 2 rooms.

This inn is close to everything in Lenox. It is very conveniently located. The house is filled with interesting art work and antiques, and there are well-tended gardens. We arrived to find that we had been reserved a room in the coach house rather than the inn proper. This was a short walk through the yard. From the outside it seemed private and had a small porch with chairs that overlooked the garden. However, when the staff member opened the door to show us in, the smell of mustiness and mold was overpowering. She mentioned that someone had left early and might not be returning in which case their room would be available for a $20 additional fee. She promised to text the information to me, which she did. It turned out that the room was not available. My husband went back to request a different room as he is highly allergic to molds. A smaller room was offered which we took. It was cob webby and had many other various multilegged creatures in it. The mattress was old, the pillows flat and hard. An uninspiring self-service continental breakfast was served in a gracious dining room. This was a disappointing stay.

The room itself was comfortable enough. Beautiful area. Breakfast is served at 8:30 - too late for anyone staying for business. The second day, the owner offered to leave breakfast in an upstairs fridge - plain bagel, no butter, no jam, no toaster - just a bagel. Had to crawl on the floor to find the right plug to plug in the coffee maker. Coffee was undrinkable and there was no milk to put in it - just that faux flavouring stuff. Wifi apparently only exits in part of the house. I was never successful logging on. The owner lent me her computer for that moment that was not a long-term solution. As a business traveller, I needed to access my email everyday. Water pressure dropped so significantly one evening that it was not possible to shower. Bell tower across the road chimes every hour - through the night. Old windows in the room wouldn't close. The house is in need of some significant restoration and upgrades. It is musty smelling and tired looking. Seriously overpriced for just a bed and bathroom.
