Shower was awful
just about everything.
TV has no programs, just stations no one would watch.
I have stayed at Leo house before. I love the place. One problem I called before I went and leo house did not gave my reservation. First time I have every booked on line. Very dissapointed. Not with Leo house with Booking .com
If you are looking for basic accomodation without the bells and whistles but is very clean, tidy, comfortable and has a reception desk manned 24 hours a day in a fantastic location and on a budget you can't go past this place. Staff are wonderful, helpful
The location is good and you get a decent hotel for a reasonable price.
The bed might have been the shortest I have slept in. I am 180 cm (5'11'') and if I stretched out to my full length my feet touched the end of the bed.
The restful, charming, old world atmosphere. Also, the friendly, helpful staff. Great location just a block from the subway and very near the High Line and an elevator to it.
Dated bathrooms. Also, for the low month of January, the price of the room and the extra cost of the $9 apiece breakfast buffet for two put it in direct competition with last minute steep seasonal discounts from more elegant accommodations in the city.
For $80 a night, it's not bad space/location.
Somehow I missed the fine print of registered guests only are allowed up to the rooms. I've never heard of such a thing, but that was pretty much a killjoy for my trip to see family and friends in the area. Clearly it was too late to back out once I had checked in. Staff wasn't too friendly and came off rude at times, and so with that, not again. Ever.
I am so glad that my mother suggested that we stay here! The location is great...the subway is down the street, very reasonable price, clean rooms (not big by any stretch of the imagination but you won't be spending much time there anyway), staff is nice, bargain breakfast buffet ($9) and onsite laundry facilities if you need them (washer and dryer are each $1) There is also a spacious lounge on the 2nd floor if you want to spread out to read a book or work on your laptop in the evening.
We could not figure out a way to adjust the temperature on the radiator heater. It got really warm in the room so we kept it on during the day while we were gone and turned it off at night.
Location. Four-minute walk to the Joyce Theatre, the reason for my short visit (to see Royal Danish Ballet). Good clean bedroom w/ full en suite bathroom and color flat screenTV. Elevators! Very kind and helpful front-desk staff. Steps to several subway and bus lines.
No carpet on floor. No in-room mini-fridge.
Great location, all the basics covered in the room, free wifi and computer room. I would stay again (If cheaper)
Staff not so friendly even though it's a catholic home with nuns on the 2nd floor. Room heater didn't work (I was stayed in the dead of winter mind you.) You can't run the cold and hot water in the sink at the same time, nor do they stay on. It's a one deal twist burst of water.
The room is rather old but very clean, staff was very polite and helpful. WiFi worked very good.
Warm and proficient hospitality, cleanliness and comfort. Ashley at front desk was complete perfection at everything she did. Most special of all was the Chapel with daily services. Leo House is a n oasis in Manhattan.
Location, daily service, secure building
Toilet had problems, a bit noisy with early morning trucks, showers were old, wifi kept cutting out or not working at all.
It used to be I could get a room easily but now nope. One must book well in advance in order to get one. sigh.. Oh well the best deal in nyc. Perfect location..
Breakfest - Perfect
Facilities are very old, the water in my bathtub room was rusty.
Staff were helpful. Close to sights. Walk to subway.
This hotel is next to restaurants, markets and many interesting stores and touristic places.
The room's heating fails many times, the cable tv is too limited, the room doesn't have a mini-bar and the hotel don't allow meals inside room and the bathroom doesn't have hygienic shower.
I liked the position.Close to many tourist and local convinces The close by Metro was a challenge at first .once the system was learnt it took one to any area. Eateries, The High line walk ,cross city M23 bus .All there.
The shared bathroom with no lock on the door. The bath with peeling Paint in the bottom was off putting. The noise of rattling doors closing effected you door.sounding as if some one was entering your room.
The location was perfect for my first visit to New York City. Everything was within walking distance or easily accessed by buses or subway. I was traveling alone. The staff made me feel welcomed and safe. My room was small but very comfortable - great bed- and very quiet - no street noise. I enjoyed the common sitting areas and the lovely dining room where breakfast was served. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. There is a chapel at Leo House, a peaceful space to start and/or end the day. I would definitely stay at Leo House again and I highly recommend it.
Although the shower was very conveniently located across the hall from my room I will book a room with shower my next trip.
The breakfast and setting is great h
Having a room on the eigth floor was lousy .....lamps didn't work ...tiles missing in bathroom. .... Sink leaking...room service didn't make up room until 4:30pm really not acceptable
Great location for walking around Chelsea,Gramercy and East Village. Nearest station is 23st.（C,E line）, 1minites walk from the hotel. Free WiFi available in the room. Friendly staff. Safe-box in the room. You can smoke in the Garden. If you are a runner, I recommend runnig along the Hudson river.
All in all, facilities are older than you see in the web site. There are few bath amenities.Only bar soaps...
We were a gay couple and were really not well considered as we stayed in the same room. "Oh my god" seemed to say these people!
Location: one block from the blue line subway, nice neighborhood, drugstore and restaurants close Staff: very courteous and helpful Building: building is old but has character, rooms are small but very clean, bed is SO COMFY!
