Great location for subway access, staff are friendly and attentive. Felt really safe in the neighbourhood. Breakfast had a great selection for the price. Laundry facilities excellent and cheap.
Bathrooms are old but clean, curtains have been replaced in the rooms with see through blinds, so sunlight comes in early in the morning also at night when room light is on guests privacy maybe compromised from buildings around hotel. May be a blocker blind would be better than see through blinds.
My daughter and I enjoyed our time together at Leo House. We thought the staff were very friendly and helpful. We especially liked the location and were able to get to our destinations quite easily. Next time we want a room toward the back. We were on the street and it was super noisy. All in all we were satisfied with our stay at Leo House.
The location and the price
Weak wifi; self-closing faucets which forced you to have one hand always occupied: alternate hot-cold showers
I felt completely at home at Leo House. It's for people who like old construction, which is quieter and, for me, more like home. The staff are friendly, kind, and helpful. The place is roomy and very clean, and I felt completely safe inside the guesthouse and in the neighborhood.
The room was way too hot, and the radiator knob wouldn't turn at all. To be fair, I didn't tell anyone and should have, so that's not really a complaint. The only other thing they could change, and it's a small thing, is the shower curtain, which billows in and clings and you have to keep pushing it away.Maybe weight it on the bottom edge? In every other way, a great experience.
Being that I'm a regular customer my stay just gets better and better.... like being home and haven a even better relationship with ,God.on which i have a few thing to work on myself what better place two be!.Thank you!
All was great keep up the great work
Very good location, staff were friendly,it was clean and tidy.
My room needed redecorating as it was patched up in places, it was suitable for a short stay
I loved the atmosphere and the hominess. The place has character. And Chelsea is just one more wonderful area in NYC.
-There is a laundry area in the basement which is excellent especially when you are staying long - cheap buffet breakfast - quiet place - free internet and good signal
-So strict about visitors. - No shampoo :) - you can hear whoever is in the hallway - you can hear everything that's happening outside
I like the location. We popped up on 23rd street after taking the PATH train from Journal Square. The price was great, could find a cheaper place in NYC. It was secure, warm, clean, watched over by angels, and the staff knew exactly what customer service means. I plan to go again very soon!!
Everyone is a critic right....well here's my two cents. The noise. I could literally hear every single thing happening around me. Well, maybe not pins dropping, but noise really travels through this building. Nothing a long day walking around, two ear plugs, and a couple NyQuil Liquid caps couldn't handle though. I slept like a log.
Brilliant location. Good breakfast. Great price.
Room bit old and tatty but clean and water hot so no real complaints considering we only slept there.
Able to get a reservation within one week for Christmas time! Cost is very reasonable. Feels safe.
Great value for money. Clean and modern.
The staff at the reception is unfriendly and repellent. This is strange as this hotel is driven by the catholic church. Not much christian compassion on ground floor.
Location The staff
clean great location courteous staff
wi-fi spotty and not usable
Didn´t provide for a printing service to print airline boarding card
As a traveller this hotel was brilliant. We needed somewhere safe, clean, reasonably priced and with good basic facilities-it delivered. It's location is fantastic with the subway nearby and with good local bars and diners if you need them. The staff are great, tips aren't expected or accepted and all the basic facilities are there to enable you to see New York.
This is in the 'what didn't you like' section-but TBH there was nothing. It provided what we wanted at a good price in a great location. However what I would say is that this hotel won't suit everyone. We were out at 8am and back in at 10pm travelling round New York. We had the breakfast which was great by us and much more 'European' than the diners (ie much simpler and cheaper) and again this suited. This is not a hotel with 'Hilton' style facilities. We shared a bathroom ( although we had a private toilet and wash basin ) but again this was just fine. Our room was under refurb ( un painted plaster etc ) but everything worked, it was warm, quiet ( better than we expected-but at the back ) and safe. And as is have said the staff were great.
The very friendly and helpful staff. The ease of getting to public transport. The reasonably priced breakfast on site.
Can't think of any negatives.
Location, close to subway lines Safe and secure venue Now wifi is available in the rooms - the last time I stayed there it was only available in a common room downstairs.
Lack of a private shower/bath in the room, only sink and toilet. (However, I've stayed in rooms in Leo House with private bath) Spartan accommodation, but for the price, it's acceptable.
Excellent staff. Great breakfast. Dorm like. Great value. Will stay on regular basis.
Tub/showers could stand renovation. Would love a night stand!
excellent Location value for money fair..staff very friendly
No frill, excellent quality for value. Great staff, perfect location
It is an old building, with old room. But one expects this, it is perfectly fine!
Price on Booking.com Location
Paint chipping on wall. Very tiny bathroom. Public Television Channel with no volume. Very slow service at desk from a disrespectful, older, black female staff. She told me to sit down when I arrived as she checked in someone else. When I stood she became very angry. She talked down to me about whether I reserved the room and also yelled at me. Couldn't handle the stress of her job. Bad location of room. 4th Floor, front of building. Noisy from the street and across from the elevator. It was at least 70 degrees outside and the room had no AC present. Very cramped room.
A perfect location. The room was exceptional and I would stay here any time I am in NYC. The staff was the best.
