One of the friendliest hotels we've ever stayed in in NYC. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Excellent continental breakfast, fantastic beds, "reading room" that gave us space to enjoy visiting family. Junior suite was a great value for family of 4. We will definitely return!
From the smiling receptionist to the courteous staff at the complimentary breakfast and wine reception in the evening, this hotel is a pleasure to stay at when in New York. The rooms are small, but spotlessly clean, and the location is wonderful. We had a lovely time!
The librarians who look after the hotel and, of course, the location.
Room was slightly on the small side. Stay preferably on an upper floor
Great staff who will go out of their way to help you. Excellent cheese and wine event every evening in the hotel.
Library Hotel was just one of the best hotels I've been. I stayed there for 2 nights with my Mom, whose a book lover and was visiting me in NY. This hotel has everything a book lover wants and dreams of. Plus the staff is 10 stars! They are so nice and thoughtful. From the staff at the front desk to the nice ladys at breakfast. I think that is really important. They made us feel comfortable and help us with EVERYTHING we needed.Sometimes we go to a nice hotel, but the staff are not the most friendly. Not in this hotel. They are beyond nice and friendly. In the end they even gave us 2 books to take home. Can ask for a better treatment. Library Hotel is a must and I'm definitely going back there!
Location and comfort of hotel was perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful, would not hesitate to recommend to others.
Really helpful, friendly, sincere staff!
The hotel has a "library" that is open 24/7 where you can get hot tea or coffee and some pastries, read a paper or a book. Invaluable when you come back late at night after watching some show, or if you have arrived before check-in time and want to catch your breath before hitting the city.
Great Location Great Staff Great Room Complimentary Breakfast Complimentary Wine Free WiFi
Nothing - Fantastic Stay
- Friendly personnel, - Location
- Soundproofing - There is no dedicated restaurant for guests (we could not eat dinner last evening).
Great location, great staff, lovely decor, and we loved the snacks that are always available.
location, library theme and 'useful' extras (ie. free 24/7 snacks and beverages in lounge rather than gyms, spas etc)
manhattan prices and room sizes
The staff was great...Alvin was so ready to help us. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Loved the breakfast and wine and cheese. We would definitely return. Also, loved the location. The hotel felt good!
We didn't experience anything negative.
The location was excellent, in the middle of midtown right next to grand central station and the libary. The staff were very polite, service was excellent and informative. Hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable. Decorated to a good standard and we'll equiped.
Small Hotel, different to other hotels, nice bar on the roof. Wifi included, perfect location.
Petit room is not only extremely small but has also a very small bed, was sold as a double room with a bed which is normally for a single person good. Not possible to order egg dishes for breakfast.
Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The reading room was a bonus with drinks and pastries through the day and cheese and wine in the evening. Didn't need to bring my kindle as the hotel had a fantastic selection of books
Window in the room was a bit draughty and could hear the traffic.
they didn't clean the room till nearly 3pm - this is not acceptable.
Staff were amazing in their genuine desire to help visitors. Loved the fact that food and drink were available 24 hrs free of charge. The place was very homely and comfortable and so well located. A bit of civilisation within the city. Can't speak highly enough of this hotel.
Everything was just perfect - staff are fabulous, very helpful, good facilities, nice bed sheets. Everything is included in the rate - breakfast, wifi, wine/cheese in the afternoon! Much better value for money than various 5* hotels that we have used before in NYC. Will be back!
Air con a bit noisy but that' the only minus that I can think about.
Excellent location. Very friendly staff. Cleanliness.
It´s rather expensive. Front desk people was not connected at all with our needs (phone calls, correspondence, etc)
Location was central and not too noisy. The staff were welcoming, friendly and always helpful. The Hotel was like a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of New York. We enjoyed staying at the Library Hotel and hope to stay longer next time.
Very kind, helpful and service-minded staff! Wine and cheese evenings - and coffee, tea, fruits and cookies all day and night long - give one a wonderful chance to relax in the beautiful Reading Room. Books, magazines, newspapers and DVD library available.
We would have appreciated an enlargement of the breakfast buffet, we stayed for 10 days and the breakfast was good but same, same every morning.
I am a real bookworm, so being surrounded by all those books made me feel really comfortable. Sorry I didn't have time to read any of them, so a return, and a longer stay would be perfect. We particularly liked the breakfast room on Floor 2, very comfortable and great to be able to use it whenever we felt like it. I appreciated the fact that the librarians noted my birthday with a very suitable present.
Not too big and impersonal - very cosy relaxed and location is ideal and central, would stay here again
This a great little hotel. The staff are exceptionally helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms and facilities are indeed 'boutique' but the location is so good that you can't wait to get out and about in nearby Times Square, the Rockefeller Centre etc etc. The 'library; theme attracted us to it in the first place and it would be a great place to chill out, read and relax. For us New York isn't that kind of a place.
Price of a couple of glasses of wine for a nightcap on the Terrace were a bit pricey
